Summary: Excellent!
Review: Sidney is at his best since "Bloodline" and "Master of the Game". He continues to excite me as great storywriter with exciting suspense! Way to go, Sidney!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Total Enjoyment
Review: If you're looking for a book to linger with over a weekend...buy this one and one other because there will be a lot of weekend left when you finish. It's a rapid read following such characters as Oliver Russell as he progresses up the political ladder to the Presidency and the steps he takes to get there. Here's a man we love to hate. Then there's Leslie Stewart who begins as a sweetheart and evolves into a woman not to be reckoned with. Meet the people in between these two lives and get drawn into their world. There's even a trip to Sarajevo where you'll be ducking the gunfire. Get the book, settle in and enjoy!

Summary: Hard to put down
Review: Leslie Stewart epitimizes "a women scorned" Her search for revenge takes her to the height of success. When her goal is in sight, Sheldon works his magic and surprizes not only his "scorned" heroine but also the reader.

Summary: The Best Laid Plans lacks substance and is hardly gripping!
Review: Gone are the days when one could not put down a novel by Sidney Sheldon once reading had begun. The Best Laid Plans was not in the least bit exciting, and I'm still trying to figure out what the highlight of the novel was. Moreover, I was not impressed with the ending - it seemed like something an amateur writer had written!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: wait for paperback
Review: A fast read, only because the plot is one dimensional, the characters lack depth, and the language is prosaic. A bland, predictable book. A weak effort from an author who has written far better novels.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: So-so plot, disapointing writing
Review: It seems again Mr. Sheldon has given the public and his fans an out line for a television mini-series instead of an actual novel. Large margins, double-spacing of text and chopped up chapters make this a quick read if nothing else. Where is the author of "If tomorrow comes', 'Master of the game' and 'Bloodline'? I secretly suspect his secretary is working overtime to churn his last few books out. While I will continue to read Mr. Sheldons novels, I no longer look forward to them as I used to.

Summary: Sheldon slides downward
Review: As a long time reader of Sidney Sheldon, I can assure you that this is no "Other Side of Midnight" which was truly outstanding. "Plans" is a good short story mascarading as a novel. It is predictable. I figured out one-third into the book that Tager was too good to be believed! Maybe Mr. Sheldon is tired; he deserves to be due to the number of good books he has written. But I would love to have him emulate his earlier books.

Summary: A mediocre disappointing Sheldon
Review: Having read all of Sidney Sheldon's novels, I expect from him a gripping and entertaining read. Really nothing more than that. His stories flow with intrigiung characters and twisting plots. Best Laid Plans was the worst Sheldon book yet. The plot lacked depth and the characters seemed rather one-dimensional. The book was a fast read and mildly entertaining, the ending had an unexpected twist which is always nice, but yet this book lacked my interest and was not a page turner. If you are new to Sidney Sheldon, you might want to read his books backwards, starting with Best Laid Plans because his books get better as you travel back in time. Is Sidney getting too old? Is he tiring or running out of in depth plots? Let's hope this was only a mild setback and hope his next one answers my questions. Angela Bernardoni

Summary: Your plans will be put on hold with Sheldon's newest novel!!
Review: Sheldon's newest read, a grabber from page one is a story that will have you utterly suprised at the ending for which you think you have already figured out from the get-go. The bad guys aren't bad and the good guys aren't good. Although it is a quick read you can't put it down as his story twists and turns in the development of his characters. How the author's thought processes jump from one character's story to the next and they all come together in the end leads to an ending full of suprises. When the last page of the book has been turned and the lights go off you will lie in your bed replaying the story in your mind and realize what a gifted story teller Sheldon truly is!!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very good story
Review: The revenge of Leslie to Oliver is amazing, but more amazing is that at the end she didn't want to hear anything and that was part of her destruction even if she had in her wall an example of what is the wrongness thing a journalist can do, she just did that.
The Sarajevo's part is long an a little boring but at least you will know something of that part of the world.
The plot has so many twists that you will be lost knowing whom is who but you will never ever imagine this excellent end.
