Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: VERY AVERAGE Review: Far from the best for Sidney Sheldon. Given the current scandles besetting the White House and a certain President's libido, the subject of this novel is very topical. Unfortunately, it is too predictable and far too short for my tastes. Give me "Master of the Game" or "The Other Side of Midnight" any day. The plot is paper-thin, the characters one-dimensional. FINAL VERDICT: "The Best Laid Plans" is an improvement on Sheldon's previous two attempts, but wait for the paper-back.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Really Great, Until the heroine didn't get her revenge. Review: I like the book from the very begginning. It is a must read for all book lovers, not just for sheldon's fans. But why didn't she got her revenge? The President got away with what he did to her.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Hah! This time WE got the surprise! Review: I've read the many reviews by people who were disappointed that the heroine, Leslie, did not get her revenge in the end; that the cause of her pain, Oliver, escaped punishment. I was tempted to share those feelings, until I thought about the one unique and highly different aspect to this book. What is that, you ask? Look at the inscription - it is dedicated: TO YOU! What was Mr. Sheldon trying to tell us? Perhaps, true to form, as surprises always abound in his books, we are the ones to be taken off guard this time. But, I'd rather think that perhaps as Mr. Sheldon matures and increases his wisdom, he is gving us a much more powerful message - REVENGE ONLY HURTS THE ONE SEEKING IT! Think about it. Leslie spent a lifetime desiring and plotting revenge, and in the end, she never realized it. We were told she was beautiful, alluring, talented and inordinately intelligent. Think what she could have done with her life had she gone on, leaving Oliver and the pain in her past. Perhaps we should heed Mr. Sheldon's message and set our sights on higher goals! Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: i enjoyed it Review: as is the case with most sheldon books, this certainly is a book that you can read quickly . . . and will want to . . . in particular, i enjoyed the ending.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Readers Don't Digest! Review: For those who are Sheldon's die-hard fans, his latest book definitely comes short of our expectations. Despite the fact that the plot is laudable, some of the characters lack conviction. To cut a long story short, the book is tumultously written and suffers from quite a few shortcomings.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Sidney Sheldon disappointed his readers. Review: I looked forward to this novel eagerly - as Sidney Sheldon is one of my favorite authors. After reading this book I felt betrayed, let-down, and disappointed. His characters were not empathetic, portrayals were shallow and boring. All his other books kept the reader on the "edge", with the suspense. It appears to me that he let someone else write for him and then put his name on it. What happened?
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: I was kind of disappointed Review: Not one of his best! Sydney Sheldon's first books are much better. Nothing can top "Bloodline" or "Master of the game" or even "If tomorrow comes". He should take more time to write his books, I do not mind waiting as long as I know that when his latest book will come out, it will be as good as one of his first books. I didn't really like "Best Laid Plans" - I guess it's because I am not really into politics. Anyways, I bought it in hardcover and I was kind of disappointed. I could have waited for the paperback to come out.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Excellent fast read Review: Sidney Sheldon adds another excellent book to his stack of successful entires. The "Best Laid Plans" did not have the depth of some of his other tales, but if one is looking for entertainment and a quick novel to escape in for the weekend, this will more than be enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Enjoyable reading but not one of Mr. Sheldon's best Review: I've read all of Mr. Sheldon's books and this one was not as exciting as the rest. Must say that I was surprised at the ending.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A whopping good story! Review: I picked this book up to browse and put it down (or should I say --- couldn't put it down until) very late that night after finishing it. The story line is unique, believable, and very interesting. The main characters are well developed and display a duality that underscores their human-ness. The pace is fast and unrelenting, and the book doesn't contain a boring paragraph. The ending is very well done. One excellent read!!!
