Summary: My All-time Favorite Book
Review: Although the holocaust isn't the happiest of times, the author's perseverence is inspiring to everyone. I don't know what more I can say other than that this book should be read by everyone.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The most moving book i've read to date
Review: All but My Life by Gerda Weissmann Klein is the most moving book i've read to date. It's such an inspirational book. I love how she is so strong and it can inspire people to be strong willed and cherish their lives. Gerda went and expirenced a lot and she had people betray her she knew her whole life. The book was just really great because it just shows that you can't depend on people your whole life and you have to be independant and when other people aren't strong enough they need someone to lean on for support and Gerda shows how she was loyal to her friend Ellse through the whole ordeal.

Summary: ONE OF THE GRETEST HOLOCAUST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ!
Review: This book tell a story of young Gerda who finds herself in consentration camps, Gettos and on a death march. She and her friends survive this hoorible experiance but Gerda is soon heartbroken beacuse by liberation day only one of her friends survives. This is a great example of courage, though at times a little intence. She is a very inspiring writer.

Summary: You just can't put it down!
Review: I had initially borrowed this book from the library and once I was done reading it I had to buy it because I wanted so much to share it with others. It is the first book I have ever bought besides school books, and it is definately my favorite. From the moment you open this book it is practically impossible to put it down. What a great book!

Summary: For a change - she is describing the truth
Review: Lately, I came a cross a book on the same subject, in which the author took the liberty to adjust some facts to meet their own agendas. In this book, at times, it will be very obvious that the written words were simply the author's imagination. In other words the author deviated from the truth . However, this book, as far as her description on the German's working camp is 100% true. How do I know? My mother was there, and she told me the VERY same stories.

Summary: A fitting Title for a Touching Story
Review: "All but My Life" by Gerda Weismann Klein was one of he the most emotional books I've ever read. It's not fiction, it's reality, and the author told it like it was in the Europe in the forties; depressing, stressful, and very, very horrifying. This book tells a story no one should avoid; the story of anti-semitism and hate for other human beings and above all, the fact that everyone has different beliefs. I think the author is very brave for letting the world in on what really happened in Nazi Germany, and I suggest that you read or buy this book. It is touching and educational, but is a rather high level of reading and I suggest it for people 11 and up, if not 13 and up. This book doesn't just tell a story, it tells life.

Summary: Very moving
Review: As a young girl myself who is about to be married, I found myself reflecting a lot on my own life while reading "All But My Life." This story embodies the best of all genres: action, romance, true crime, biography, and even the occasional nod at humor. I recommend this book especially to young women. A lot can be learned from the strengths....and weaknesses of Gerda. She is a brilliant author who knows the way to bring all of the wonderfully eccentric characters and utterly horrific experiences to life. A must read!!

Summary: This book deepy moved my soul
Review: I could not put this book down. I was sorry when I finished reading it because I could have gone on forever with reading it.
The things that Gerda Weissman Klein suffered, her deep thoughts, her gratefulness now for the small things that we take for granted such as a loaf of bread, an apple, clean sheets--all of these things made me realize how very grateful I am for just the plain things in my life.
I feel so much and so sorry for what she had to go through, for the losses that she incurred. As a Jewish person myself, I identify with her and her story moved me to tears.
I was horrified to read of the cold and calculating cruelty to which Gerda and her family and the Jewish people had to suffer, and to learn of the unbelievable cruel manner in which this systematic cold torture and cruelty was carried out.
I recommend this book so highly. No one who reads it will be able to forget this deeply moving story.

Summary: All But My Life
Review: I had to read this book for school and at first I wasn't all that excited because it was the longest book of the choices. I started reading it in one evening and I couldn't let it down, the words, the phrases really got to me. I felt like I was there with Gerda every step of the way. Gerda is an excelent writer an d she did a great job writing this book who leaves the writer wanting to know more about the Holocaust and the couragious people that lived through that horible time. I encourage each teen, especially girls to read this book because they will realise how our problems about how we wear or other little problems are really just something with no importance next to the problems the teens from that period had to cope with.
