Rating: Summary: Stillwatch Review:
Mary Higgins Clark is one of the greatest authors for thrillers. All of her books are scary with a little bit of romance hidden in their. The book Stillwatch came out in 1999, and was a big hit ever since. Stillwatch is one of Mary Higgins Clark's greatest books.
I was never one to just pick up a book and read it. I never used to really like reading, but in high school I had to have forty accelerated reading points. Basically I had to read about four books every nine weeks. I could not find anything in the library that really kept my attention, and one that I would finish in a short time. I decided to grab a Mary Higgins Clark book one day when I was looking for a new book. I started reading it and could not put it down. She writes those books that are suspenseful and keeps you guessing throughout the story.
Stillwatch is about a reporter, Pat Traymore, who went to Washington, DC to become an even bigger journalist than what she was, by doing an editorial on the famous female senator Abigail Jenkins. While she is there she rents the house that she grew up in, which was the house her two parents were brutally murdered in. She was very young when her parents died and she has only little recollection of what had happened.
Pat Traymore is a beautiful, single woman in her mid twenties. Pat is already a big hit when it comes to journalism, but wants to have a TV series with her subject Abigail Jenkins. When starting to research, she meets with an old flame, Congressmen Sam Kingsley, to help her uncover all of the important facts about Senator Jenkins.
Abigail Jenkins is a famous senator in her forties that may become the first woman Vice President. At the beginning Abigail did not want to do the editorial, but her adviser talks her into it by telling her how much it could help her win over the hearts of the Americans.
Pat's TV series with Abigail Jenkins quickly takes over her life, because of the non-stop work and meetings the Senator endures everyday. While studying about the Senator one night, Pat discovers a note under her front door that says, "I told you never to come back." At this time Pat decides that it's probably just some nobody who hates the Senator and decides that it's just a stupid, little threat.
The next night Pat has supper with Sam, and when coming back Pat thought she saw someone in her house. She also found another note, and decided this time she should call the cops. The cops told Pat that they will watch her house and make sure nothing like that happens again.
During the rest of the book, Pat uncovers some things about her parents and herself that she never knew. She also discovered some things about Senator Jenkins that could ruin her chance of becoming the first woman Vice President.
I would recommend this book to anyone who has a little time, and loves mysteries. Stillwatch not only kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, but also kept me thinking about what was going to happen next. It is one of my favorite books and I think if anyone decided they would give the book a chance, then they would fall in love with it as well!
Rating: Summary: My First Mary Higgins Clark Book Review: As Pat Traymore investigates Senator Abigail Jennings she finds more than what she was looking for! Pat embarks on a mystery that causes her to deal with her own troubled, tragic past. There are many twists and surprises in this story, a characteristic of MHC books. It's hard to put down!

Rating: Summary: Not as good as her other ones Review: I am a big fan of Mary Higgins Clark books, but this one just didn't hit the spot. It dragged in parts of the books, that made me just skip to a different chapter. If you like the element of suprise and suspence this isn't the book for you.
Rating: Summary: one of my all time favorite mysteries Review: I am a long standing fan of Mary Higgins Clark. As usual, Clark draws her readers in from the very beginning, not permitting them to put it down the book until the last page. In this particular book, Mary Higgins Clark mingles a little romance with mystery, deception, and suspense.
Rating: Summary: I liked this book very much. Review: I enjoyed reading this book becuase, I've never read a book quite like it before!!! My sister has read it and I needed a book to read for a report when I started reading it I couldn't stop!!! I really got into Pat's charecter and I liked how at the end you finally get everything in the open!!! On end I just wanted to share how I enjoyed this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, C.R.
Rating: Summary: Good suspense Review: I enjoyed reading this novel, mainly for the way in which the author intertwined the different subplots. There is quite a mystery involved, as well, as we try to uncover the background of the protagonist and how it ties in with the rest of the main plot. I found myself caring for what happened to the characters, a definite plus when evaluating a novel. The only thing I have to complain about was that the bad guy was more or less identified quite far from the end, making the ending somewhat anti-climatic. Worth the read nevertheless.
Rating: Summary: Great read Review: I first read this book years ago after a good friend recommended it to me. The parts I found most interesting were Arthur the nurse and Glory with her Raggedy Ann doll and Toby the goon/chauffeur who is secretly in love with Abby and is the ****spoiler alert!!!!*****...... real killer in the book.
Rating: Summary: Stillwatch is a Mary Higgins Clark masterpiece. Review: I have read practically all of Mary Higgins Clark's novels, but "Stillwatch" is, by far, my favorite. I love the imagery and the character development. The weaving of the characters into each other's lives emphasizes the cliche, "It's a Small World." I actually own this novel as a part of the three-novel collection including "Weep No More My Lady," and "A Cry in the Night." I find myself pulling this book of the shelf time after time, and skipping the other two novels because I think that "Stillwatch" truly displays Clark's mastery as an excellent storyteller. To all who read the reviews before picking up the book, "Stillwatch" is a definite must, to past, present, and future Mary Higgins Clark fans. BRAVO!
