Summary: Really Great Book
Review: This book is real fun to read, at worst it's clever at best it's genius. I read 120 pages the day it came, to give you an idea of the entertainment value of the book. Carlin is a great comedian, to me the best of all time next to Richard Pryor, and he does a good job on this book. I'll probably start his second book "Napalm and Silly Putty" soon, and his third book "When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops" when it comes out. Have fun with this book, that's what it's for, but it also has many insights and interesting ideas we can all appreciate.

Summary: I Cried Because I Was Laughing So Hard.
Review: I just finished reading Brain Droppings after a friend recommended it to me. I must admit I started crying because I was laughing so hard. I absolutely love the way the book is layed out. It is fun and easy to read. I don't personally get what all the uproar is about. He really does challenge us while at the same time making us laugh. A rare combination.

Summary: George Carlin speaks the truth
Review: This is a great book. George may have what some people consider a 'warped' view of the world, but in my opinion he is right on the money. He really makes me think about how F-ed up most of the people in this world really are. I really like his statement (I can't remember if it is in this book or from his stand-up) "If you believe in God you are good, but if you believe in UFOs you are a Kook. Even though there is more evidence of UFOs than there is of a God." Well it goes something like that. I can't remember the exact quote!!!..... Sorry :(

Review: It would be George Carlin. I could just sit back and listen to him go on forever.
Only drawback to this book was that every so often there was these pages where random thoughts were stuck in...didnt dig those to much...but hey, its George.

Summary: Really Great Book
Review: Quite possibly he is. He is certainly different from most other comics, and he will be the first to admit it, without apologizing for it. This is part of what makes him so good. It's not just the same old stuff reworded to get a chuckle out of you. George has clearly done some thinking about things and will challenge you to think about things, too. While it all may be couched in terms of humor, the genius of George Carlin will really make you wonder why things are the way they are, and then realize that there's really nothing you can do about it except have fun and laugh at it.

Summary: Not overly funny
Review: After reading Napalm & Silly Putty, I figured that this book would be pretty much the same. I didn't find this book funny at all. Veteran standup comic, George Carlin takes his own shot at authorship. Unlike many comics who focus on a limited range of subjects, Carlin has a versatile talent and his book covers everything from pitiful puns to classically structured jokes. He is less successful when he examines things he deeply cares about, like politics and justice. His anger is too close to the surface. Many of his jokes are taken straight from his stage act and they suffer by being reduced to printed page. I do recommend his other book, Napalm & Silly Putty.
