Summary: amazingly jaw-dropping!
Review: It filled me with suspense right to the finish, and I read it everywhere I went, which included round the street at airports, in bed and everywhere! PS: the film does not do it justice.

Summary: A book you can't put down.
Review: A non stop action packed story that I couldn't put down. I dont really have much to say other than, if somebody hasn't read the book, and they like books like this one, they wont be disapointed, it definately is a must read.

Summary: Very absorbing!
Review: This was a very interesting and absorbing book. The only reason I didn't read it in one sitting was that I didn't have time. I was anxious to see how the characters would unravel. In this story, you wonder if good really will triumph over evil, if only because the 'evil' happens to be the leader of the nation and his Secret Service agents and nobody ever suspected--even when everybody related to the case keeps getting killed. This book was definitely worth the time it took me to read it.

Summary: "Absolute Power" Absolutely Preposterous
Review: David Baldacci starts out this 469-page homage to his favorite cliches with perhaps the most overused political quote in history: Lord Acton's cant that "absolute power corrupts absolutely." From there it only gets worse. You know you're in for a bumpy ride when an author spends more time describing inanimate objects (in this case, mostly furnishings) than in developing his characters. Unfortunately, Baldacci isn't a talented enough writer to overcome this basic problem, and it shows. His careless, repetitive use of imprecise verbs (as in writing "the car exploded" to describe the vehicle appearing out of nowhere, not blowing up) makes the reader quickly lose patience with his amateurism. As for the plot, well, let's just say Baldacci's got nothing on what the news is reporting every evening. As for the characters, let's just say they make John Grisham's doppelgangers look like intellectual heavyweights. Though after plodding through the print! ed version of "Absolute Power" I couldn't bring myself to see the movie, I do admire Clint Eastwood for accepting the challenge of bringing Baldacci's ciphers to cellulite life. The Starr report will likely turn out to be a more lively read than this clunker.

Summary: Thumbs Up
Review: A real page-turner with a first-rate premise. It kind of gets muddles at the end, but nonetheless, it was the best thriller I've read since Craig Furnas's THE SHAPE. The movie was depressingly sloppy (especially since the once brilliant screenwriter William Goldman wrote the terrible script. I hope Goldman is just suffering from laziness, and not old age, because I'd like to think he could write brilliantly again if he chose to). Anyway, ABSOLUTE POWER is an Absolute page-turner.

Summary: EXCELLENT BEST SELLER
Review: It's was an excellent Story, because the Author makes a good effort to write in a good and grateful way that you don't want to stop reading until the end. I read in Spanish the translation was excellent.

Summary: Better than I thought!
Review: My sister-in-law lent me this book and said I should read it! I usually like "classic" literature so I really wasn't looking forward to this book, but I ended up liking it a lot.

I think Baldacci is a good writer, especially his characterizations. You see many sides of all the characters, even the "bad guys." You see things from their point of view; they didn't seem like stereotypes to me.

I look forward to reading more of Baldacci's books.

Summary: Was a good book to pass away a few days
Review: I had not read him before and luckly did not see the movie first. (i was disappointed in the movie but still like clint.) it did seem a bit "story book" and predictable but enjoyed the few twists in the plot.

Summary: A good beach read perhaps
Review: A "timely" plot in light of the recent goings-on in DC. However, the writing is very poor and the characters are flat and uninteresting. A good mindless beach read, but don't expect too much.

Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK! WHAT A RIDE!
Review: This was one entertaining book! The reader really gets involved with the characters (who you really get to know) and the whole plot itself. I could not put it down. Anyone who says negative things about the book is either a total drip or just plain stupid! Every single person that I recommended read the book, about 10 in all, loved it as much as I did. The movie is another story, literally. They changed much from the original book and not for the better. Stick with this great book and skip the movie. Trust me!
