Summary: Great Book with minor flaws!
Review: After reading the reviews on this website, I went and got the book. I really enjoyed the fast paced read and action. While the plot seems somewhat probable, the way the story progresses and ends is not. I think the story was great at the beginning, but became very drawn out at the end. I found myself begging for it to be over! Some of the characters I found to be slightly shallow and no real human depth, especially Kate Whitney. I found it really hard to relate to the way she handled the different situations.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Cutting down on the almost rambling story line and the sometimes obtuse characters will make Baldacci's next book even better!

Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: This was the first book that I have read by Baldacci, but it wasnt long before I was buying all his books. I am a huge Grisham fan, but found my self loving this book more than A Time to Kill. First book that I have finished and sat it down and all I could think was WOW..leaves you speechless

Summary: Delivery Guy,Where Were U When I Read P.125?.Ho,In P.215...
Review: What can I say?,when my friend bought me the book for my birthday and told me that it's the best thriller he had ever read,I came beck to the book{after a few months}with allot of expecties.

It had a good start.like most thrillers,it started right in the action and I couldn't stop reading till p.100,then,the book really slowed down and got me to read like 10-15 pages every other day.

It finally paid off at the middle of the book.in p.200,after like 100 pages of legal, firm and high windows stuff{what was it called?,"The Firm"?}the action started and all though I could have put the book down,it was because I had to,or I had something else to do{did I say sleeping?,no...}and not because I had to,and not because it was boring{I can't say that in some parts it wasn't,but in this case, all books r the same},and that,I think, what makes a thriller good, after all,we all know that u have to put the book down{yeah,I came straight from %$&**$ and just couldn't stop,ho,just for cooking, laundry and ER},but what makes a good thriller is the fact that u put it down because u have to,and not because it is just BORING.

Summary: great
Review: I am a definite fan of this author. This was the first book of his that I read. Hollywood really ruined it like so many others. They say its difficult to be accurate to the book but they must not be addressing Gone With the Wind, a perfect adaptation of Mitchells book. Do not let Hollywood destroy any more of your books. Your fans are disappointed that you let it happen.

Summary: A REAL PAGE-TURNER
Review: This is the second David Baldacci book I have read-and it won't be the last. The plot seems improbable at first, but you quickly get caught up in the suspense. Jack Graham is an appealing hero, but his romantic interest, Kate Whitney, never quite seems believable. The other characters, notably Gloria Russell and Bill Burton, add nicely to the spine-tingling anticipation of wanting to know what happens next. I really enjoyed this book, to the point I will buy my own copy when I can (the one I read was from the library). David Baldacci has a new fan! One criticism, albeit minor: I would recommend that Mr. Baldacci study the work of Robert Ludlum to see how to improve his characterizations and narrative detail. Regardless, I intend to read everything he writes from now on. I am thrilled to encounter such a major new talent!

Summary: Good Murder Story!
Review: I liked Absolute Power better than Total Control. This book kept me interested right until the end. Who could hate Luther-the career criminal with the good heart. Kate and Jacks relationship was boring. She kept saying goodbye and never facing up to her past. It took Kate way too long to figure things out. Burton had all the guilt and could not deal with it. I would recommend this book to all my friends.

Summary: Good book .... Bad movie!!!
Review: After reading The Winner by Baldacci I wanted to read more of his works. I remembered seeing the movie 'Absolute Power' and was wondering how they compare. The book was a real page turner and I enjoyed it much more than the movie. The book confused me so much that I rented the video to clear up a few things. The screen writer should be ashamed of butchering a great book. Not even the hero is the same. I did learn an important lesson...not all books will play well on screen. The Grisham books may be the exception. I hope Baldacci was payed well for the movie title and part of a story.

Summary: a thriller from start to finish !
Review: The President should have suffered more than he actually did.I pity the secret service agents who are made to justify the wrongs again and again.i read the book at a time when the actual world was also seeing the clinton saga. Thus the book became more absorbing. But the author shoul have narrowed the principal characters to make the novel more incisive.I would like to communicate with the author. GREAT NOVEL !
