Summary: Very, VERY good!!
Review: (...)I read 'The Day My Butt Went Physco' just today. I loved it. It is the funniest book I have ever read!! I would recomend it to kids under 12 (esepecially not adults). It has alot of potty humor but kids enjoy that (along with Captain Underpants)

Summary: It's only ok
Review: EXTREMELY light. I went through it in less than an hour. I reccomend it to 4th grade or less, although older kids can still enjoy it (I'm 13). There ARE a lot of butts in it-- bordering on rediculous. The extra stuff in the back is cute, though.

Summary: Every Other Word was "Butt"
Review: Great subject, but it could have been much more funny and creative than it was.

Summary: My son is now on Butt Patrol
Review: I am the mom of a 9-year-old boy who reads everything he can get his hands on. Big books, small books, fat books, skinny books. But this...This is by far one of his new favorites - he just got it yesterday and has already read it twice, along with insisting on starting his own Butt-Busting Brigade. The peals of laughter tell me this is clearly a book for the pre-teen crowd, and if it keeps 'em reading, I'm all for it. I plan to read the book as soon as I can wrestle it away from him, because as he tells me, "Mama, you're going to laugh your butt off!"

Summary: But...it's funny
Review: I bought this book just for the title alone, I am an adult, and i think it is quite funny. The humor is geared towards 9-13 year olds, that is for sure, but it is still amusing to say the least. I know it will win no awards, but I would recomend it to any parent of a reluctant reader none the less.

Summary: great book
Review: I don't mind potty humor. Even though I'm a mom, I have my kids pull my finger all the time. I think the Dav Pilkey books are funny, however, The Day My Butt Went Psycho isn't. I was willing to accept that butts could detach themselves from bodies. I found the grandmother amusing. The idea of Zack's butt attaching itself to the faces of statues made me laugh.

But then we got to the stadium filled with thousands of butts, which no other human, with the exception of the buttcatcher, in the town managed to notice. We find that the butts are self-aware with minds of their own and compare their situation to that of slaves. When they ripped the head off the buttcatcher, that's when I decided I wasn't interested in the rest of the book. I was willing to continue reading it to my sons (aged 9 and 10) if they wanted, but they thought it was absurd too.

Summary: Great book for younger kids who read chapter books
Review: I got this book for my 3rd grader to read over the summer, because it was silly enough to appeal to him, plus I knew how much he liked the Captain Underpants and Ricky Ricotta series. He zoomed through the book, and is now eagerly awaiting the sequel, Zombie Butts from Uranus, due out in April 2004. Yes, it's potty humor, so if you don't like for your kids to read that, definitely do not get it. Otherwise, I thought it was a lot of fun and is another great way to get kids, especially boys, reading. It's a longer read than the Cap'n/Ricotta books, and was just the right challenge for my son. My older kids (5th grade, 8th grade) are not very interested in it.

Summary: You'll laugh your butt off !
Review: I have a 6 year old son, and from experience I found that the imagination, attention and humor levels that little boys posses make it more difficult to find books of interest, especially when they'd rather be playing outside,or putting whoopie cushions under Dad's seat. I stumbled across this book at a book store and before I could finish reading the back cover, my son had grabbed it out of my hand (after seeing the word BUTT ) and began reading it himself. The "rated G for Gross" grabbed him right away. Immediately he tore into the first page and was hooked. It's a little above his reading level, but because he's so interested in the story it's encouraged him to really work on his reading skills.
My entire family works in the education business, and we recently had a family gathering at which time my son pulled out his "Butt" book, and after a few minutes the whole family was in HYSTERICS ! It became an evening of passing around the book and taking turns reading chapters. The silly nature of this book doesn't stop after the first page like other books we've tried. I look forward to buying many more books from this author. I highly recommend this book, you'll laugh your Butt off !

Review: I thought it was the best book I had ever reed.My favorite part was when Zack had said his false butt was self-wipping.

Summary: Boy Book
Review: I tutor a fourth-grade boy, and we've been reading this book together. It is one of the few books he'll read half-way willingly. There is a shortage of boy books out there, but Griffiths has written a great one.
Parents and teachers may have a harder time getting through this book, as every sentence utilizes the word "butt". The plot contains a great deal of nonsense, and will probably make most adults, many girls, and some boys, roll their eyes and put the book aside for a few minutes before picking it up again and plowing on ahead. There is even an humorous warning at the beginning steering anyone over a certain age away from continuing.
This is a great book for boys. And for any adult who understands the workings of little boys' minds.
