Summary: TOTALLY AWESOME!
Review: This book is the best that I've read in the series. You can't go wrong reading any of the books in the O'Malley Series but I thought this one was the best. I related to Shari well and fell in love with Marcus. It's suspensful and romantic and Dee Henderson did an AWESOME job on this one!

Summary: A big disappointment
Review: This book is written like the script for a USA Networks movie - corny, predictable and slow. It is not a page turner, so if you must read it, set your expectations low.

Summary: The Guardian
Review: This book was very exciting from the minute you open it. I enjoyed the details, the suspense, and all of the romance. Marcus O'Malley is a well portrayed character who falls in love with the woman he is trying to protect. That woman is Shari Hanford. She is a witness to a murder that takes place at the Jefferson Renaissance Hotel during a conference to select a new Supreme Court judge. The story is intriguing and heartbreaking but in the end everything is worth while.

Summary: Another captivating novel by Dee Henderson!
Review: We briefly get the privelege of meeting Marcus O'Malley in the Negotiator. Now we get to read all about the guardian of the O'Malley clan. We get to find out what makes him tick, his past, and mostly, who captures his heart.

Marcus O'Malley is a U.S. Marshall. He has taken risks in his job and sometimes pays the price for them. But he is good at what he does and anyone who messes with him is in for trouble.
Shari Hanford was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She witnessed a murder of a close friend and the person that Marcus was protecting. She saw the murderer and he saw her. Now Marcus must protect Shari from the man that wants her dead before she can testify. But Marcus never thought he would fall in love with her or for her beliefs in God to affect his life so deeply.

The spiritual subject of The Guardian is on the focus of prayer. When Marcus was young he had a bad experience with prayer and since then he has, in a sense, giving up on God and prayer. Totally incharacteristic of Marcus. But since meeting Shari, who's faith and trust in God has become stronger during the ordeals that she has faced, Marcus has come back to his decision he made long ago. But in doing so, he has disturbed buried pain from his young life. Will Marcus give up again or can this lady that he has come to admire change his life?

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the spiritual trials and romance that flowed in the relationship that develops between Marcus and Shari. The story was great and I look forward to more works like this from Dee Henderson. She has such a unique way of combing suspence, murder-mysteries, romance, Christ and humor to have the finished product be such a success. I love these books and have enjoyed reading every one. Trust me when I say that The Guardian and the other books from the O'Malley series are must reads!

Summary: The Guardian Rocks! + corrections to Review 1
Review: When I finished The Negotiator, I knew there was no way any of the O'Malley books could come close to being as good as it was. Well, I was wrong. The Guardian is at least as good, although I'm still trying to make up my mind as to which I like better.

Shari Hanford witnesses the murder of a federal judge. The killer knows that he left behind a mistake-- Shari. As a US Marshal, Marcus O'Malley takes the murder of a judge personally. He's determined to find the killer. But it's not a normal case. As a witness, Shari needs protection. Marcus wants to join in the hunt for the killer, but he cares about Shari and wants to make sure she's kept safe. While the killer gets closer to Shari, and Marcus and Shari get closer to each other, they must deal with the issue of faith. Can Shari continue to faithfully believe despite Marcus's doubts? Can Marcus learn to again trust the God that he feels let his mother die? The reader can't help but become emotionally involved as the book clips along at breakneck pace.

Dee Henderson could have easily chosen to use the same faith questions for this book that she addressed in The Negotiator. Instead, she branched off to new faith questions and did so in eloquent and gentle fashion. While caught up in the action and impressed with the gentle relationship building between Marcus and Shari, the reader can't help but see the view point of both Marcus and Shari as they struggle with their questions about faith and prayer. As they take the journey through their questions, the reader will experience it as well. With everything else going on, Henderson also gives us another great look at the O'Malley family dynamic. A sweet, gentle love story against the harsh backdrop of a murder and the ensuing investigation, this is a definite must read.

Summary: A must read
Review: While in Chicago presenting a talk at the Judges Conference, Judge Carl Whitmore learns he has made the short list for Supreme Court nominee. Other people including speechwriter and friend Shari Hanford learn in advance about the president's latest nomination. No one bothers to provide an advance warning to the U.S. MarshalĂ' service so that the agents can begin protecting His Honor.

That mistake proves fatal as Connor Gray, who also learned about Judge Whitmore making the short list, assassinates him out of an act of vengeance. Shari and her family happen to be with Carl when he is killed. Shari's father and brother are shot and in critical condition. Shari is a witness to the killer's identity and U.S. Marshal Marcus O'Malley places her under his personal protection. As the search for the killer continues, Shari and Marcus fall in love, but the murderer knows he has one eyewitness he has to eliminate at all costs.

THE GUARDIAN is an exciting romantic suspense thriller that emphasizes the action. The story line works on multiple levels because the key cast feels genuine. ConnorĂs need to kill the Judge especially feels authentic. The attraction between Marcus and Shari is a bonus that augments the strong plot with a bit of soft flavoring. In the second novel of the O'Malley family saga, Dee Henderson has provided a winner for fans of romantic suspense and thrillers.
