Summary: Witness Review By Emily Allen
Review: In a small town in Vermont, something is coming to life. The Klu Klux Klan is gathering followers. Will twelve year old Leonora Sutter survive the racicisim? Or will the town be surrounded by hatred? Six year old Esther Hirsh, a Jewish girl, is experiencing something she can't understand, but will help her in life. You can tell exactly what is happening, because of the characters unique way of speaking. They talk with their opinion, and are not afraid to speak what they feel. Will the town work together to have a friendship of a lifetime? When each character talks, something new enters the book. It could be he great way Karen hesse writes to keep you intrested in the book. This book makes you think. It makes you peel away the obvious, and look for the real meaning that means more. I would recomend this book to any of my friends, or anyone. This book explains what really went on in the early 1920s in great detail. This book will change your mind about reading.

Summary: Witness Review
Review: Witness, by Karen Hesse, is a fascinating story. It makes you think, and also leaves you with something to think about. In this book, prejudicalness and the ku klux klan are taking over the town. If you're not a white protestant, then you'd better watch out! As the people of a small town in Vermont witness deaths and shootings, struggle to escape from the immorality of the klan, two things are starting to appear quite often: love, and friendship. A new town is forming, and most of the klan has learned their lesson. But still, that's just most...

Review: The book Witness was a great book. What I liked about it was that it really taught me about The Ku Klux Klan and the 1920s. And even at the end it gives you something to think about. It really opened up my mind and it made me think and it was great I recommend it to almost anyone capable of reading. It was very unique because of how it was written, in free-verse poetry. The only thing I didn't like about it was that at times in the book it got really confusing. But the characters are great especially the 6 year-old Jewish girl named Esther Hirsch who are a major impact in this book as well as the 12 year-old African American girl named Leanora Sutter who they all the Hirsch's and Sutter's are battling the life of living with The Ku Klux Klan. I would totally rate this book 5 *****. Now you should think about reading this book today!

Summary: Review for Witness
Review: This fantastic novel is a great book for people to read all over the world. The eleven main characters give you an excellent idea, of what it was like in 1924. With a little comic relief from Harvey and Viola Pettibone, and, the funny talking girl, Esther, in my opinion, this is one of Karen Hesse's best books yet. The book is one of the best books I have read in my life.

Summary: True review
Review: The book Witness is a very good book for children and adults. It is very suspenseful and it is like an adventure a little comedy too. The book has irony and is a little spooky. Overall my opinion is that this book has a little bit of everything. I gave this book four stars because the ending was kind of slow and not very good and I wish there were more pages. The things I think the author should work on are the swearing and lower it down. Everyone over 9 would love the book Witness.

Summary: Wittness
Review: In a small town in Vermont Karen Hesse weaves together a great book that all can Witness. Witness is interestingly strung together with phonographs, poison, and hectic broom sales. You always want to keep reading, especially when the town is battling the Ku Klux Klan and the general conflict of racism and ignorance. I would defiantly suggest this Witness to anyone, as a five star book.

Summary: Witness Review
Review: Witness Review

Witness is an outstanding new novel by Karen Hesse. Written in free verse poetry, Witness recently won a Christopher Award. As the story begins, it is 1924 and on the surface, life in a small town in Vermont seems perfect and serene. Yet the serenity is shattered by inner turmoil. The Sutters, the only African Americans in town, are constantly harassed by the Ku Klux Klan. Little Esther Hirsh, a six year old, is nearly murdered because she is Jewish. Johnny Reeves, the town preacher, begins preaching that the Klan is good. Along with them, many other distinctive characters tell their story of all the recent unrest in their community. As the Klan undermines the town's very foundations, people start to see that the Klan is bad. Will the Klan bring the town to its knees? Read this amazing book and find out.
