Summary: Another Mystery like her other Mysteries
Review: I do enjoy this author's mysteries for what they are, light, quick, and a good summer read. I find them more predictable then most mysteries and this one is no exception.

A 15 year old girl is murdered in a gruesome manner, it is now 22 years later and her convicted killer is about to be set free. Her sister Ellie, who is an investigative reporter, has come back to town to get to the bottom of things. There are a few twists and turns that urge the reader on. A great book for the beach. I would give this book 3.5 stars. Kelsana

Summary: Daddy's Misjudgment
Review: The book Daddy's Little Girl, by Mary Higgins Clark, is about two sisters and through the book is sorrowfully narrowed down to one sister, one daughter. This story takes place in a small town in Sacramento, California. In this story, the oldest sister, Andrea, is forced to go to this dance with Pauile, a boy that knows about her relationship with Rob Westerfield. Paulie is threatens Andrea that he will tell her father about them if she doesn't go to the dance with him! Andrea's father saw Rob racing once. Since then he has banned them from ever seeing each other again, or so he thinks. So Andrea calls Rob and tells him the situation. Rob is not very happy with this so he asks her to meet him at their secret hideout which is in Andrea's garage behind the old rusty station-wagon. To find out what happens next read this book! So based on the facts this book seems to definitely deserve a Newberry Award!
This book is being recommended to everyone!!! Although people might disagree with that statement because they might think that it is very predictable and if they can predict the twists and turns that happen in this book, they must be pretty smart! If that's what they think they should write their own book! Also, people might think that it is not very relevant but that is the enjoyment and pleasure of fiction! If people think this book is too predictable that's fine but as previously mentioned before they can write their own book instead of critiquing others!
This book is not being recommended to people who still get nightmares! Although it is not all that scary but it is a murder story. This book is about a girl Ellie (Andrea's sister) who gets misjudged and in the end she finds her true identity and much more! In this story you will most definitely find the precise meaning of sisterhood! As you can guess there are a lot of twists and turns in this novel and that is absolutely true!!! Secondly, this book will give you so many emotions such as chills down your spine but in the end a warm fulfilled heart! This book has you laughing and crying! The book leaves you with a warm fulfilled heart because it shows you in the end how much a father can love his daughter. Although it is distressing and gloomy because it just goes to show that it takes something very tragic to bring the whole family together again!

Summary: A good summer read
Review: The English mystery writers, P.D. James and Ruth Rendell, are more my cup of tea, but I have enjoyed the few books I've read by Mary Higgins Clark.

I thought this story moved along quickly. I read it in two sittings. There was no big surprise ending, but more details surrounding the death of the narrator's sister were revealed when she came back to investigate years later. I think people told her more than they normally would, but this is fiction after all. I liked the first person writing.

I believe too many reviews have criticized this book because it wasn't what they thought it should be. If the author was happy with it, let it be.

Summary: Daddy's Little Girl
Review: Despite many of the other reviews calling this book predictable, I found it to be a page turner! I have always enjoyed Mary Higgins Clark and Daddy's Little Girl did not disapoint, if you are also a fan I am sure that you will enjoy it too. 4 STARS!

Summary: No mystery
Review: I haven't read many of Mary Higgins Clark's books, so I don't know if this is typical of her plots or not. There was absolutely on mystery or suspense in this book. I was expecting one hell of a surprise or twist at the end because the books was SO predictable. Character development is pretty much absent, too. I give it two stars instead of one mainly because I actually enjoyed reading the novel. It was just that at the end I felt tricked. As another reviewer put it... "That's it?"

Summary: Very Predictable
Review: I have always loved Mary Higgins Clark, but this is unfortunately the worst book of hers I have ever read. There was absolutely no suspense. There were no twists and turns. The whole book just supported who the murderer was and any "new" information was not a surprise. I will be waiting a very long time before I read another one of MHC's books.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not Enough Excitement
Review: I agree with some of the other comments made about this book. There wasn't very much intrigue and "nail-biting" events in the story. MHC usually writes books that keep you on the edge of your seat. This book has some of that but not enough.

I enjoyed the book but it wasn't quite enough for me.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not up to the standards
Review: This book was my choice for my book club. I had originally chosen "Second Chance", but realized that this was a sequel.
So my book club ended up with this. I was not really thrilled about this book. To me it seemed to drag and the suspense was far and few. Maybe I am just used to Mr. Patterson's writing that keeps me on the edge of my seat.
The book stressed the guilt that the character Ellie had been carrying for her life. She felt guilty for her sister's death and that was prominent through the book. It never really had the suspense during her journey to investiagte her sister's death. Just a little bit of a let down.

Summary: DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL
Review: Where have all the authors gone? Has everyone run out of new ideas? Grisham, Peterson, etc. And again Mary Higgins Clark. I have been so disappointed in her last few books I had hoped she was finally going to come up with something more like here earlier efforts. I read a review where someone said this was a page turner....only because I was speed reading to get to the end. There is no suspense and a very dull story line. I am beginning to wonder if Mary Higgins Clark is still writing or just passing an outline to her very untalented daughter to fill in the blanks. What happened to the author who made you beg for more? The author who wrote books that you really truly could not put down? It is one thing to run out of ideas ... it is another to waste over 300 pages telling a short story that could be told in 25 pages. Wake up Mary Higgins Clark.....if this is all you can offer you will lose tha audience that has been your mainstay over the years.

Summary: MyShelf.com Review
Review: Ellie Cavanaugh is only seven years old when her sister, Andrea, is brutally murdered. A clandestine tryst with a boyfriend results in death, and Ellie is haunted by the knowledge that if she hadn't kept the meeting secret, her sister's life might have been saved. Her parents also seem to blame her, and she holds the guilt deep inside her soul. The boy Andrea was to meet that night, Rob Westerfield, is convicted of the murder and sent to prison, all the while professing his innocence.

Now, over twenty years later, Westerfield, is up for parole, and Ellie, an investigative reporter for a newspaper in Atlanta, finds out that he intends to seek a new trial. New evidence, supposedly found by an author who is writing a book about the case, is being touted by the wealthy Westerfield family as the key to finally exonerating their family name. Ellie is working on her own book, and maintains a website that she uses to prove Rob Westerfield was the person who murdered Andrea. She is determined to stop her sister's killer from walking away from his crime.

DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL is Mary Higgins Clark at her best. The story is engrossing and the plot holds the reader from beginning to end. Clark's first attempt at writing in the first person point-of-view is a success. A MHC novel isn't great literature - it is exactly what it is supposed to be. An easy to read, compelling story that gives the reader an enjoyable respite from reality. All in all, a pretty impressive achievement.
