Summary: Good read
Review: This book was suspenseful and interesting. Ellie finds her big sister murdered and lives with the feeling of "what if" she would have told her parents where her sister was rather than keeping her sister's secret. Years later, Rob, the boyfriend who was charged with the murder, is about to be released from prison. Ellie takes a break from her newspaper job to try and find more evidence and stop him from being released. Rob's family, the Westerfield's are powerful people with lots of money. Ellie is stalked as she tries to discover the truth and keep her sister's killer behind bars. It is a suspenseful read that kept my attention.

Summary: Distraught and Disappointed
Review: This book was a very disappointing read. I found it to be bland and predictable. You know from the first few chapters what was going to happen. There was nothing to pull the reader in and the only reason you would finish it would be because you would feel some type of obligation to yourself to finish what you started. The author leads you on a long and tedious path only to end it where you already knew what happened.
The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the emotional and spiritual growing "Ellie" does.

Summary: Well written in 1st person format!
Review: Ellie Cavanaugh has had to live with a guilt trip about her sister's death. Her sister was to meet Rob Westerfield but her father had prohibited her seeing him. Ellie did not tell her parents where she knew her sister would be when she disappeared. Finally, she goes to see if her sister is there in the barn and finds the body of her sister. Running home in a screaming cry, she delivers every parents worse nightmare; their daughter was killed. Ellie has to go from that moment on with the phrase like "If only we knew sooner," to haunt her. She carries blame in her like a ball and chain.Fast foward to the present and Rob's family has arranged a story to clean his name. Their is money from the grandmother's inheritance on the line in proving his innocence. Ellie, having seen her family torn apart from her sister's death, is determine to make sure that Rob stays behind bars. Very well written and the author does so in first person. You become part of the story through the eyes of Ellie.

Summary: Getting Better in Each Book
Review: While MHC's books seem to start falling into a recognizable pattern of events for plot and action, her writing style is getting better and better. When I first starting reading MHC books, I thought the writing somewhat immaturish, but she has improved in leaps and bounds with her style, substance, and maturity of details and realistic settings. This is definitely a great read -- recommend wholeheartedly!

Summary: A Major MHC fan
Review: I rarely bestow the title of "page turner" on a book, but DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL is just that. In my opinion this is MHC at her best. With believable characters and situations, a great plot, and superb dialogue, you won't be able to put this book down. It's one of those "give it to a friend when you're finished" books as you'll want to share it. Much like McCrae's Bark of the Dogwood, The Second Chair, or The Da Vinci Code. Also recommended: SECOND CHAIR, BARK OF THE DOGWOOD, THE DA VINCI CODE

Review: THE BOOK DADDY'S GIRL WAS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ. THERE SHOULD BE NO OTHER TITLE FOR IT. THE TITLE FITS PERFECT WITH THE BOOK. THIS BOOK IS ABOUT A LITTLE GIRL WHO LOST HER SISTER IN A BRUTAL KILLING. EILLE, WHO GREW UP TO BE A WONDERFUL WRITER IS TRYING TO PROVE THAT HER SISTER'S KILLER SHOULD NOT BE RELEASED FROM PRISON. THERE WAS NEVER ANY HARD EVIDENCE TO PROVE THAT HER SISTER'S BOYFRIEND DID IT, BUT ELLIE WAS SURE IT WAS HIM. SHE WANTED TO SEE HER SISTER'S KILLER FACE TO FACE SO SHE ENDS UP GOING BACK TO THE TOWN SHE HATED HER WHOLE LIFE. THIS STORY IS FULL OF SUSPENSE AND YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW WHO DID WHAT TILL THE END OF THE OVEL. Summary: Very Boring - Not her best!
Review: Perhaps it's because I read this just after finishing the Da Vinci Code (which was excellent!), but I found this book to be very boring. There were no surprises, no suspense, no thrills, no twists, not even much of a climax at the end of the novel. I love Mary Higgins Clark - I have read all of her books and I am sad to say that this book is simply a waste of time. After a promising chapter one things go down hill and one wonders if this book was written too fast for the ideas to flow into completion.

Summary: Daddy's Little Girl
Review: If you are someone that is into murders and mysterys, my guess would be that you would really enjoy reading this book. It is about this young girl, Ellie, who's sister is murdered when she was little. A boy is convicted of this murder and is sentenced to jail. When Ellie gets older the murderer is wanting parole. Ellie goes on her own investigation to make sure that the man who killed her older sister is not released into the world. During this book Ellie finds new things that the detectives did not pick up on during the actual investigation. She finds new evidence and possibly new crimes that this man has commited. She is determined to keep this man in jail no matter what the cost. Even if she ends up in danger, which she just may. I think Mary Higgins Clark is a very good writer. She did a very good job writing this book and I'm sure most people would enjoy reading it. The real truth doesn't come out until the very end and she keeps you interested throughout the entire book. It's a book you don't want to put down because you want to see what happens in the end. She is a wonderful author and it's a great book.
