Summary: John Grisham's "The Client"
Review: Another magnificent, believable novel by John Grisham. Like other Grisham novels, I found it hard to put this one down. I found the ending to be totally appropriate; I feel that a proper ending to a book is difficult to write but Grisham ended this one quite properly. There were parts in the book that were meant to be humorous and I laughed out loud when I read them.

Summary: BEST GRISHAM BOOK
Review: The Client was absolutely the best John Grisham book I've read so far. I've read the Firm (Which was great), the Street Lawyer (Which wasn't any good), and now the Client. The Client was by far the best of the three. I am already on my fourth Grisham book A Time to Kill, and I plan on reading every one of his.

There were so many things about this book that made it so good. Normally in a book, it takes a couple chapters for me to get interested. But by the second page in this one, I was hooked. Grisham has a way of holding your attention even if something suspenseful is not going on. That's what makes his books so good. They might be long, but they keep you interested for every single page.

The Client starts out with Mark Sway, age 11, and his brother Ricky witnessing a horrible suicide of a lawyer (Romey) defending the Mob. The lawyer's client was mobster Barry Muldanno, who murdered Senator Boyd Boyette, and buried it somewhere that only he and Romey knew where. But before Romey kills himself, Mark is forced into the car by Romey and Romey tells Mark exactly where the body of Senator Boyd Boyette was buried. If the Feds find the body, they can convict Muldanno, but until then they can't. So Mark knows this information, and the FBi knows that he knows. Mark knows that if he tells, the Mafia will kill him, but that he if he doesn't tell, the FBI will convict him of obstruction of Justice, which is not telling what you know about a crime. So Mark hires a lawyer, Reggie Love to defend him, and that is where all the action starts.

I thought that the Reggie Love was a good character. I liked how Grisham described her, and how she was a hard-... to the FBI, but not at all like that to Mark. The relationship between Mark and Reggie in this book is great.

I also thought that Mark's character was great. All throughout the book, you feel sorry for him, that he had to witness that death, and that he can't just be a normal kid like everyone else his own age. But he handles it so good. He keeps his cool all throughout and is very clever for his age. What he does throughout the book makes you wonder that if you were in that same situation, if you could think, and act as quickly, and as clever as he did.

I would definitely recommend this book to anybody. For anyone who wants to read a good thriller, this is the book to read. I am going to read it again soon, and am sure that I will enjoy it just as much as the first time.

Summary: THE CLIENT
Review: In the two years since The Firm first captured the imagination of America'a readers, John Grisham, with three consecutive number - one bestsellers, has become one of the most popular authors of our time. Now, in The Client, he has written a novel so irresistible, so thoroughly entertaining and satisfying, that it is sure not only to please his millions of fans, but to win him new ones as well.

This is the story of eleven year old Mark Sway, who, as the novel opens, witnesses the bizarre suicide of a New Orleans attorney. Just before he dies, the lawyer tells Mark a deadly secret concerning the recent murder of a Louisiana Senator, whose accused killer, Mafia thug Barry Muldanno, is about to go to trial. The police, the federal prosecutor, and the FBI pressure Mark to tell them the attorney's last words, but he knows that with the mob watching his every move, revealing his secret will almost surely get him killed.

So Mark, streetwise and old beyond his years, hires a lawyer: Reggie Love, a fifty - two - year- old divorcee who's been through more than anyone could imagine and survived, basically, because she's tough. And feisty. And loves helping kids overlooked or abused by the system. But when Mark's life is threatened, and Reggie discovers her office has been bugged, and even the Juvenile Court judge says Mark has no choice but to talk, she realizes that she's in way over her head. But then Mark comes up with a plan ...a crazy plan, in Reggie's opinion, but it's their only hope. And it just might work.

With the page - turning suspense and terrific plot twists that have become John Grisham's trademark, he has once again crafted a novel that simply cannot be put down. But in The Client Grisham has gone a step further with a cast of unforgettable characters headed by the most original hero in years, he has mixed equal parts humor and warmth to truly expand the boundaries of the legal thriller.

Summary: surprisingly weak for Grisham
Review: Mark does not really remind 11 years old; the attorney is a fairy godmother; the judje is rude to the government and clearly favorable to the defense in his courtroom; FBI is nothing but [fools] who can't master a single task - need I comment more? All characters are so much within cliche you really know how they will behave ont he next page. Grisham can and does wwrite a lot better than this, makes an impressionof the rushed novel.

Summary: The Client
Review: I think this book is incredibly vibrant and everybody who likes suspense should definitely read this. John Grisham is definitely at his best. This is by far the best book he has put out. This high suspense book is based on a horrible suicide that will haunt Mark and Danny Sway for the rest of their lives. And the worst part about it is that Mark (the older brother) has been lying to the cops the whole time. He wonders if he should tell the cops because his little brother is traumatized from the whole suicide. Now he is taking on the state, Mafia, and even the FBI. And the killer won't let the secret get out no matter what, and that includes killing Mark!

Summary: The Cleint
Review: This book was excellent, with its good plot and good climax. The characters were very real. The story took place in Louisiana with a story about kids that witnessed a suicide and thought the mafia was after them. The characters were Mark, Ricky, Dian, Jerome and doctor green. Mark and Ricky were walking in the to have a cigarette. After about 5 mins. A black Lincoln pulls up and stops about 40 ft from were the boys are sitting and stopped. Mark and Ricky were about to run when Mark said let's stay here and see what's going to happen.

Summary: The Client
Review: John Grisham's, The Client, lives up to the reputation we have come to expect from such a prized author. The novel progresses slowly at times but the plot has so many twists that it keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the chapters. Mark Sway, an eleven-year-old southern punk, along with his younger brother Ricky, innocently stumble upon a suicidal lawyer. Mark is let in on the biggest secret of a very high profile mob killer: where the body of murdered Senator Boyette is buried. Watching the lawyer kill himself sends Ricky into a comatose stage and Mark into a legal battle between the FBI and mob. While Ricky lays in the hospital, Mark sets out on his own to resolve his problem, and soon finds that he needs the help of the most unlikely person, Reggie Love, a female lawyer who has as much of a sticky past as the Sway family does. Along with Reggie, Mark finds the confidence to face the problems that lay ahead of him. That is, until he realizes that his life, as well as his families may be at stake. Mark must choose who the most lethal killer is, the FBI or the mob, and risk his family's life in the process. The main character being an eleven-year-old kid helps Grisham achieve a different prospective than the other legal thrillers we have seen from him. With a strong plot and characters, The Client is a great addition to your Grisham collection.
