Rating: Summary: Good Read Review: This book was well written, Grisham creating a wonderful page turner full of suspense and mystery. But the book got boring at parts, for instance, the scenario when the lawyers gathered seemed rather dry. But the fact that I read this at 12 may add to that emotion. I suppose that it was necessary, and it is rather hard to make lawyers seem interesting. (I should know, my dad is probably the most boring person to grace this planet. And he just happens to be a lawyer. Coincidence? I think not!) Anyway, I recommend this book to anyone, but be prepared for some heavy reading.
Rating: Summary: A great read! Review: Saw the movie "The Pelican Brief" and it sent me looking for Grisham's books. Just finished this one and enjoyed it immensely: The characters were varied,well-define and a wonderful mix of adversaries and people almost on the same side. Best was the relationship between young Mark and his lawyer Reggie (50 year-old female - how often do you see a heroine like that! ). You never knew what would happen next - almost to the last page. Grisham is easy to read but his plot is by not means simple. A great read, which I warn you might keep you up late to finish! I've just started "The Testament" and it looks like it will also be a wonderful page-turner! Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: An excellent book from Grisham (as always) Review: This book is excellent. The plot is well devised and includes a little bit of something for everyone; courtroom drama, compassion, a chase, murder, and so much more. As always, Grisham has written an excellent novel filled with action and suspense that will put you on the inside of the courtroom. The film version of this book is also very well done. If you like Grisham, you will love this book. If you have never read a Grisham novel, this is a great book to start with. A must read, and a must have to add to your library!
Rating: Summary: The Client Review: The Client, by John Grisham, is a fascinating story about an eleven year old child named Mark Sway. When Mark is smoking behind his trailer, he notices a car with a hose leading from the exhaust pipe to the interior of the car. Mark tries to stop the man in the car from commiting suicide and the man tells Mark a dangerous secret. Soon Mark is being chased by the Mafia and his brother is in traumatic shock. Mark hires Reggee Love, a lawer dedicated to helping poor children. Mark starts to hate his life, just wanting to be normal, until he comes up with a bold plan that might just work with Reggees' help. This book is very intense and hard to put down. I like how John Grisham writes the book. The book hardly pauses and every scene is action. You don't want to stop reading. John does not write in a formal manner, the book is rather relaxed. The main carachter is very unusual. Mark is only an 11 year old kid who compares everything to movies. The book is exciting and has some very interesting ideas. The court is interesting and even the judge is different than normal judges. Judge Harry has odd ideas and likes things to go as quickly as possible. He does not even want the lawers to stand up when talking. Harry beleives every one deserves their own room and his court stenographer is gorgeous. This is diferent than most of his books and most other law and action books. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Grishams' books or mystery/action type books.
Rating: Summary: Another Great Thriller Review: The Client was a very good book. The reason I gave this book a four star rating is because it kept me wanting to read the book and not put it down. Another reason is because Grisham related teenagers very well to this book. The two boys in this book had to face a challenge that teens all over the world have to face everyday.
Rating: Summary: Different Feelings Review: This is the first book that I read by John Grisham and I think it is a great book. During the time that I was reading it, I had so many different feelings. I thought that the book was scary, sad, and funny all at the same time. In this book there is a little boy who gets himself in so much trouble. The boy has a smart mouth. He also is a quick thinker because of how fast he makes hi scomments. Most of all I thought that "The Client" was a funny book. I plan to read many more books by John Grisham.
Rating: Summary: Such a great book Review: I didn't really want to read this book because it was kind of too long but it turn out really good belive me.Just give it sometime, you will never want to put it down. If you are planning to read it have fun and enjoy.
Rating: Summary: THIS DESERVES MORE THAN FIVE STARS! Review: This is the first John Grisham book I have ever read and I loved it so incredibly much. I am only 15 and I managed to get so into this book that I'd get frustrated with the characters and feel simpathy for the others! There's only one problem with this book! If it's the first John Grisham book you read... the others won't be nearly as interesting!
Rating: Summary: My FAVE by Grisham! Review: This book by far was result of pure genius! Grisham outdid himself with this book. I read it it two days. Being in graduate school, it is very difficult to find the time to read for pleasure. Not the case in this book however. It is a real page turner. If you are reading Grisham for the first time, I HIGHLY recommend starting off with The Client. God bless! :)
Rating: Summary: Another John Grisham Classic Review: I must say, short of The Pelican Brief, this is the best John Grisham book I have read. Once again, he has shown just how imperfect our legal system is. He tears the reader appart by pitting two sides, each striving for a moral goal, against each other. The hardest part is deciding whether it is right to put a young child's life in danger to bring down a known mafia criminal. Grisham's dialect captivates the reader and draws them in to make his books fast paced and hard to put down. And for once, they made a movie about a book that actually follows the book to a reasonabledegree :-)
