Summary: A Great, Magical Book!
Review: This book, The Black Couldron, is a magical, mysterious book! It is about an Assistant Pig-Keeper named Taran who goes on a journey to destroy the Black Couldron. He journeys with people like Prince Gwydion and Ellidyr, his rival type person. This book shows friendship and determination. It show sadness and happiness. And of course anger and bravery. This is a great book so I recommend that you read it!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Read the book, avoid the poor cartoon of this classic.
Review: Leave it to Disney to screw with a classic. Read the book. Actually read the series. I posted a long review of the series under The Book of Three, the first in this series.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A good book
Review: The Black Cauldron is one of the best books that I have ever read. I read it the first time for English in 6th grade. It was confusing at first because I hadn't read the first book in the series. After a while I caught on to what was going on.

The book is very imaginitave and the writing was excellent. I dont think that I have read a better written book.

I would reccomend The Black Cauldron to anyone who has read The Book Of Three.

Summary: FANTASY AT ITS BEST!!!!!!
Review: I loved this book! I read it first when I was younger, and I like as much today as I did then. Alexander's characters are humorous and witty, plus they all click well together; Taran, the fearless wanderer-leader, Fflewdurr Flam, the loveable and clumsy bard, Eilonwy, the riddler-Princess, and Gurgi, the unlucky beast. I also like the new characters who pop up like Gwystyl and Orddu, Orwen, and Orgoch. This story is also great because it is not necessary to have read THE BOOK OF THREE prior to this one. Out of all the Prydain Chronicles, this is my favorite. As Gurgi would most likely say, "I read this book without any stumblings or bumblings!"

Summary: A must-read for every kid
Review: Alexander presents a rare mix of drama and humor in this series. Taran, an adventure-seeking Assistant Pig-Keeper, is a little on the serious side, while his companions, the chatty Eilonwy and not-so-truthful bard Fflewder Fflam, are good for many laughs. Taran and Co. strive to overcome evil with good, although they are inexperienced at such things. They also receive help from Orddu, Orwen, and Ordoch who, though rather far out, have a mysterious way of speaking the truth. It's been a couple years since I read it, but I remember that it was a great book and wished I had come upon it before. So saying, I recommend it to anyone who likes simple writing and takes jokes with their fantasy.

Summary: Book 2 in the Prydain Chronicles
Review: The Black Cauldron, the second book in a series of 5 called the Prydain Chronicles, really gets the series going with a bang. Every kid who reads this book will relate to and want to emulate, either our protagonist Taran or the sharp-tongued albeit beautiful Princess Eilonwy. Though fantasy in nature, these books offer many little lessons in life that just about anyone can stand to learn from. Don't forget to check out the rest of the series: 1. The Book of Three 2. The Black Cauldron 3. The Castle of Llyr 4. Taran Wanderer 5. The High King (far and away the best in the series)

Summary: I couldn't put it down
Review: This book was a real cliffhanger! While reading it with my father, we would exclaim every five minutes "This is a great book!"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very exciting. great book
Review: I thought the exciting story of taran was an excellent story. I have read most of the series, and i'am still reading, and the black cauldron was one of the best. where taran an assistant pig keeper wants to be a hero and he and his friends go on a wild search for the cauldron. an excellent book. I could not stop reading it.

Summary: One of the best books I have ever read.
Review: This book was just as good as the first. I am usually a slow reader and I don't get finished in days time and I read it in two days. It was that good! It is the best. It's not just a childrens book at all.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Much better than the movie
Review: If you watched the movie and didn't enjoy it you should still give this book a chance. It is an heroic and creative work of fantasy. My favorite character is easily Adaon. Love, Wisdom, Truth-- we would all do well to heed his message. This is much more than just another children's book. It is a great work of fantasy for readers of all ages. I feel this is a classic book and I recommend it to all fans of the fantasy genre.
