Rating: Summary: I Can't Get Enough of Iris Johansen! Review: Every single book that she writes gets better and better. I love that Iris is writing her latest books with a golden retriever in it. I love goldens! There was non-stop suspense, great characters and a wonderful conclusion. I was dissapointed when I saw it was only 298 pages, because I had the book done in about 3 hours. I am looking forward to your next one Iris.
Rating: Summary: The Search Review: Ms. Johansen has restored my faith in her ability as a great writer. "The Search" has the smoothness of plot that "The Face of Deception" and "The Killing Game" seemed to lack. I enjoyed those books but "The Search" leaves you much more satisfied. There is more character development and the research on rescue units was phenominal. I wish it had been a little longer but all of the loose ends were tied up before the last sentence.
Rating: Summary: Can't Get Enough Review: The Search is an excellent read. Iris Johansen is one of the few writers that I now buy in hardcover. The book's main characters are a real treat. Sarah and her dog Monty, a search and rescue team that seem to be able to read each others minds, were introduced by Johansen in the "Killing Game". They team up with Logan, a major player in both "The Face of Deception" and "The Killing Game".The result is a story that takes your emotions on a roller coaster ride. The author writes with such a descriptive talent, it's hard to remember that your reading fiction. You don't have to read her prior books to "get" this one, but you should because this author hasn't written a loser yet!
Rating: Summary: The Search Review: This was the first book of Iris Johansen's that I have read andhave already ordered more! It's well written and one of those thatgrips you from the very beginning, and that you hate to have end because it was so good. If you're an animal lover, it just makes it better.
Rating: Summary: Action-packed Review: This book begins with billionaire John Logan coercing Sarah Patrick into flying to South America with her search and rescue dog, Monty, to hunt for Rudzak, a sadistic killer bent on revenge against Logan. Rudzak has attacked one of Logan's research facilities and it is imperative that he be located before more people are killed. By bringing Sarah into the search, however, Logan unwittingly marks her as the killer's next target. When the South American mission fails to net Rudzak, the search moves back to the States in hopes of anticipating Rudzak's next move and stopping him in time to prevent more bloodshed.Sarah, a woman of strength, principle, and courage, acquits herself with aplomb in this fast-paced thriller. Monty the Golden Retriever is a pivotal character with an equally courageous role to play in the race to derail Rudzak. What a sweetheart! Note to Eve Duncan fans: she appears only peripherally in this story. As Logan and Sarah race toward the exciting conclusion, the adrenaline is sweetened by the growing attraction between these two diverse personalities. This was a great book to curl up with on a rainy night.
Rating: Summary: Better than ever Review: Lately I've been disapointed in Iris Johansen's suspense novels, but this book has renewed my faith in her writing skills. This book features vivid characters from her previus two books books: Sarah Patrick, her search and rescue dog Monty, and John Logan. Logan is being hunted by a enemy from the past who is out to kill him. To rescue one of his men he practicly kidnaps Sarah and Monty. Unfortunatly getting rid of his old enemy takes longer than expected, and many of Logan's friends, and many more people that he doesn't know, are put in danger. Logan and Sarah, with the help of Monty, work together in this exciting story to bring down a madman. As I said this book is really good. If you're like me and didn't like Iris Johansen's last couple books I think you'll be happy with this one. I also encurage those of you who haven't read any of Iris Johansen's books to read this one - you'll enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Iris needed more writing time... Review: I haven't finished the book yet which is wonder with the large print, spacious spaces between the lines, too much indentation on the page all for the publisher to stretch the book to 384 pags. An English teacher would complain to a student about the padding if this were done in school. Now for the story line. I was jazzed about the story of a golden retriever, John and Sarah. But there is no building of characters or words to help describe the situations around them. Sarah is one sad person and complains constantly about death in her business, I wonder why she is in the business of finding people. Monty is always sad. (At least let him find someone alive to build up his ego.) John, how can he have so much money and be so in touch with everything. Does he delegate anything? The most interesting character that hasn't been built up is Galen. I am a fan of Iris J. but this books is so ho hum I wondered what the other folks were reading when I read their reviews. It doesn't even touch The Ugly Duckling or Reap the Wind.
Rating: Summary: Excellent read Review: Fans of Iris Johansen will not be disappointed by this latest thriller. The Search is a fast read that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Rating: Summary: Another good one. Review: Iris Johansen's contemporary novels are very well written and intertaining. She manages to make a suspensful story with a bit of romance--instead of a romance with a bit of story. Her three thrillers are fun because they are sequels and yet deal with new people and situations. I would definately recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: The Search Review: I loved this book,I read it in one day, it was that good. The returning characters make the story easy to follow and always interesting.I can't wait for her next book. As far as I can see the only problem with this book is ended.I will read anything Iris writes.
