Summary: OUTSTANDING!!!
Review: Kimberla Lawson Roby has done it again!!! This sequel to "Casting the First Stone" is one of the best books I have ever read. The author gives you a very vivid picture of minister Curtis Black and all of his insecurities, faults, and lustful feelings. I like the way the author eplores Curtis without condemning him. By the end of the book, you will see Curtis as not only a lying, deceitful man but one who may also posess redeeming qualities. I can hardly wait for the next installment to this very tantalizing story!!!

Summary: Too Much of A Good Thing
Review: If you have waited for another great book from Kimberla Lawson Roby, then you have found it! Once again she tells it like it is in the sequel to Casting The First Stone. You would have thought that after the way he was BUSTED the first time, Reverend Curtis Black would have gotten his act together. But, same dog, same tricks. This book is a must read for everyone, and I know everyone who read the first book, will also love this one. ENJOY!!

Summary: Predictable, But It Was An Okay Read
Review: The pastor just had no shame to his game. I can't even imagine people giving a man that much power. But i know that there are preachers everywhere who use the gospel to benefit their own lustful desires.

The daughter was suppose to be only 14 years old, but she sometimes speaks like a 25 year old.

The book opened with interest and had a steady pace, then during the Easter sermon, it started to become a slow read but then picked back up again.

Unfortunately, this book was too predictable which limited the excitment. The storylines were all too familar. It was like I read them somewhere before. But I'm glad that this author has exposed these crooked, loud-mouthed false prophets and prophetesses. You know who they are. I know who they are. They know who they are. Satan knows who they are because he sent them. And most importantly, God knows who they are and he'll deal with them.

We need courageous authors who are not afraid to step up to the plate and call a spade a spade.

Summary: You Got to Know When to Fold 'Em
Review: This is the first book by this author that our newly organized book club has reviewed. We do intend to read the previous book to this sequel.

Rev. Black has demonstrated how fallen pastors have used the church and its members for centuries. There are very, very, very many preachers, and especially TV evangelists with huge congregations, that are just like Curtis Black. So his spirit exists throughout the world.

He just could not get enough sex. He could not receive pleasure from his partners which lead him to seek it from others. His sex drive took him overboard, so much to the fact that he negligently ignored his daughter and her needs and desires to be with her father. His obsession to obtain mo' money, mo' money, mo' money, without regards to what the Bible teaches on the "love of money is the root of all evil." He is the epitomy of bringing this scripture to life. He didn't know when to hold 'em, and when to fold 'em because he was just too greedy.

The overall message this author is bringing to the forefront is that pastors can be conniving, cheating, lying, pulpit sexpots who goes whoring after women, money, cars, homes, big bank accounts, and who, obviously has no fear of God. She has shown us how that some of these preachers are only after your titheing and offerings money and could care less about you and your family's health and welfare. This book had a good message and should be read by all church goers so that they can detect a sheep in wolves clothing. There are some very famous, popular preachers on nationwide Television -- men and women --(who shall remain nameless), that fits this bill to the "T."

Thank you, Ms. Roby, for being so bold in snatching the covers off of these raunchy preachers. We're sure that you are going to hear the "grunt" end from them in their complaints about this book, but we encourage you to keep on keeping on and spread this word of truth. We love you and God bless you.

The Colored Girls give "Too Much of a Good Thing" the Silver Award, the second highest honor.

Summary: Are Pasters Really Like This?
Review: Curtis Black is back after his nasty behavior that occured in 'Casting the First Stone'. I was so happy that I had the opportunity to read this sequel because Curtis Blcak was something else. This book really had me thinking if there are really pastors out there that are as crooked as Pastor Black.

So the story picks up 5 years later after Curtis had divorced Tanya and he now has a new wife named Mariah. Mariah basically came from nothing, her family was poor and she wasn't used to the finer things in life. After his little mishap at his last church, Curtis is now the pastor at a new church and it turns out that no one is really aware of his scandalous ways. Curtis isn't leading the right life and he is supposed to be a role model. He is cheating on his wife with two women from his past, he puts his hands on his wife whenever he is angry and he also isn't spending enough time with his daughter Alicia. All of this sneaking around and lying puts his life and others in danger.

This book is a little predictable but there is some real drama and I promise you that you will be amazed at some of the things that Pastor Black says and does throughout the book. The relationship that Alicia and Curtis have is also an important part of the book. I almost cried when I was reading about Alicia's problems and how the lack of love from her father made her run to another man to seek that love. This is a good book and it will have you thinking about the pastors in your church and what they are really like. At least it had me thinking that. Pick this book up but I recommend that you read 'Casting the First Stone' prior to this because it gives you more of a background on Curtis and his sinful ways. Happy reading

Summary: And the truth shall set you free
Review: WOW!!! Kimberla has done it again! I could NOT put the book down. This book will make you hate Curtis Black even more than the first book. It will keep you at the edge of your seat, waiting and wishing for justice for all of his wrongdoings and mishaps. Kimberla adds so much reality into her works and it makes you feel as though you are a part of the storyline. Great job again...This book is an excellent read.
