Review: Miss Roby is one of my darling authors, but she could have let TMOAGT stew. The dialogue was corny and lighthearted. I am not sure if Miss Roby was afraid to turn up the heat, but the book only peaked my interest when Charlotte surfaced and even then it wasn't suspenseful. Lastly, Pastor Curtis Black should have been killed off - RIP to the entire cast of Casting the First Stone!

Summary: Umm, um, um
Review: Now Curtis Black is a handful and I like reading about him. The author gives this character traits and situations that make you say---I gotta watch out for my man or is my man Curtis Black. A very nice read.

Review: The book was excellent, I thought she did a good job with Casting the First Stone, but she really out did herself when she did this book..She let us feel the character and I could relate with something that went on...
All I could say is keep up the good work and as long as I could continue reading I will always buy her books from the Bookstore ( not the street corner) because she deserve everything she get

Summary: Haven't You Learned Yet?
Review: TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING by Kimberla Lawson Roby is the much-anticipated sequel to CASTING THE FIRST STONE.

Curtis Black is back with a vengeance. This time he has a brand new wife, Mariah and a new church. Things appear to be perfect, until lust causes Curtis to do some crazy things.

Curtis is so busy trying to sneak behind his wife's back; he neglects his daughter, Alicia. Alicia is vulnerable and sensitive. Will Curtis lose his daughter over his own selfishness?

Mariah thought she had the picture-perfect marriage. Not only is her husband handsome, he's also the head pastor at a growing church. Once her rose colored glasses are taken off, she feels stuck in a loveless marriage. Will Mariah leave Curtis or stay in the marriage out of obligation?

The story is comical in parts as Curtis tries to manipulate the women from his past and present. It's a brand new day, but he's still up to his old tricks: lying and sleeping around on his wife and girlfriend. He goes as far as trying to manipulate the deacons of the church. Will the deceit ever end?

Ms. Roby touches on a taboo subject that will sure get tongues to wagging. TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING is entertaining to the very last page.

Summary: The Truth Is The Light!!!
Review: This book was awesome!! I have read all of Ms. Roby's books and they are superb!! In her last novel, Too Much Of A Good Thing, she takes a realistic view of what is happening in a large number of churches in today's society. It is truly sad that some pastors and churches are not in to saving souls, which is truly the mission of the church, but they are into gaining monetary funds for material items. The novel centers around Rev. Curtis Black, who is Satan in the pulpit trying to lead his flock straight to hell. Rev. Black is weak in the spirit and the flesh and uses the church and his wife for his own personal gains. There are some officers and members of the church who are on to Rev. Black's schemes and put a stumbling block in his way to prevent the demise of the church. Ms. Roby does an excellent job conveying to individuals that you are to serve the one and only God and not man!! I hope readers will gain knowledge from this book that they may use and apply to their own church life.

Summary: If you like drama...
Review: For those of you that love drama, this is the book for you. Curtis Black is back to pastor Truth Missionary Baptist Church and he's up to his old tricks in the sequel to Casting the First Stone.

Mariah Johnson, Black's new wife learns early in the marriage that she has made a huge mistake. Curtis makes it clear that he does not love her and pretty much dares her to leave him. Curtis, now back in the arms of the other woman Adrienne thinks she will be all he needs, until he remembers, Charlotte, the mother of his son, could make him feel better then either Adrienne or Mariah.

If that's not enough, Alicia, Black's 14 year old daughter is feeling neglected and looking for the love her father will not give her on the Internet.

I could not get enough of this page turner. In fact, I plan on reading Casting the First Stone next. Great Job Kimberla
Lawson Roby.

Summary: It's About Time
Review: For too long, black ministers have taken advantage of their congregations. There are some very faithful and sincere black ministers but the others taint and destroy. They feed upon their congregations to satisfy their own appetites.
Kimberla Lawson Roby's book tells the story as it really happens. She writes with clarity and an understanding of how these pretenders do their work- neither in service to the God they pretend to honor nor to the trusting and oftentimes naive congregations they are to serve. Black communities face many obstacles and unfortunately, they continue to show allegiance to black clergy who show allegiance to only themselves.
