Summary: Warning: This is not a book in true Deveraux Form
Review: I've never written a review before but I felt compelled by this book. This was by far one of the worst books I have ever read (scratch that - it was the worst book I have ever read). I cannot believe that the same person who wrote A Knight in Shining Armor and Remembrance actually wrote this book. What was Jude Deveraux thinking - was it just time for another book whether you had a good story line or not. The story was totally shallow and unbelievable. Don't waste your money on this book, I was extremely disappointed and even though I loved some of Jude Deveraux's previous novels - I will be very hesitant to buy another one. It was awful.

Summary: Absolutely joyful reading.
Review: I found the story line to be touching with some very funny moments that had me rolling. Sometimes it's nice to read a book that isn't complex with several characters in several different plots at each turn of the page. Ms. Devoreaux followed one plot and didn't include too many characters to make it confusing. I can't wait to read more of her work!

Summary: Horrible!!!
Review: This is the first book I have read by the author. The premise for the book sounded interesting and sweet, formula, but sweet. But, as another review pointed out, David didn't spend any time with Amy.

There was NO, ZERO, NONE, no character development. One minute he's trying to help, the next minute he's professing his love. I kept asking myself, 'Where did that come from?'

It ended dryly. I will admit that some of the dialogue was very funny. They interacted very nicely together. But their building feelings for each other were never mentioned, and then they're in bed together. The author took for granted that the reader assumed they were falling in love. When, it actually seemed like a building friendship.

Amy never even mentioned any feelings or stirrings about him. Then he's buying a ring, buying a house. He was supposed to be an impetuous man, but not a stupid man.

The brothers fought over Amy. But we never got to know the discussion/argument. Did David just give up? Did he just buy the brother off? Eliminating David from the picture was in integral part of the plot, and it wasn't even given a cursory glance.

I had heard nothing but GREAT things about the author. But, I have been scared away by her lack of imagination, lack of depth, and lack of skill.

Summary: Page turner
Review: I have been waiting for a good fiction book that I could "escape" in to. I was able to do that with this book and I couldn't stop reading it. This is the first book I have read by Jude Deveraux and I am now a fan.

Summary: I guess it was okay
Review: But it definitely wasn't the reason I've been buying Jude Deveraux's books for the past 15 years. It's as if she expects us to identify with her type of heroine and hero so strongly that she doesn't actually have to develop the characters--but that just doesn't work. No one seems realistic or compelling. And here's my question about the plot--if David wanted his brother to take care of Amy's baby so that David could date Amy, how come he didn't seem to spend any time with her?

Summary: Thin and weak. A waste of money.
Review: Thin book with lots of space between lines; expected the book to last for a two-hop flight; finished it on the first hop (only because there was nothing else to read). Thin plot to the point of transparency. Thinly and weakly developed characters. Thin and unsupported premises. Don't waste your money like I did.

Summary: I loved this book
Review: I love this book, and especially I loved MAX

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: A big disappointment.
Review: Characters lack strength or depth that Deveraux readers have grown accustomed to in the past. Weak story line as well. Totally disappointed for the first time.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Departure from her usual style
Review: After reading it, i find it disappointing. First, the book wasn't in her usual length. It has a feel that many parts seemed underdeveloped. Most annoying of all was the various bramd names that keep popping up, not that i have somthing against them, but the frequency those names appear make the book sound a mite materialistic.(Hey! it is a romance novel!)In the end, the whole book sounded like an advertisement for the American Express Platinium Card. Well, lets hope that the next novel from the author wouldn't be this way.

Summary: I loved it
Review: I especially liked the natural humour of the story. I did expect Parker's sister to be in colusion with Parker, to give him a taste of his own medicine . My expectations are not always what the author had in mind. Amy had to learn about being able to fend for herself. It took her 2 years to do that but she came out a stronger person. Too bad Max didn't have Jason as his father for that time but lessons have to be learned.
