Summary: Dick deals out the info about the SEAL's in all his books
Review: Dick comes back in this new book. He spills his guts about all the shooters in his awesoem books. His shoters tell you some real life stories of them in action. Everything from Nam to the Gulf. If you have ever read any of dicks books and wondered who Pick,Boomerang,Nasty and Nod were this is the book for you.

Summary: Deeper Please
Review: From the first words of Rogue Warrior, I was hooked. And while I am a very big Marcinko fan, The Real Team lacks depth. Each interview is so vague that you are left wanting more. I am salavating for Denny Chalker to go more indepth about this over-the-beach mission into Haiti. And in some places, I must admit that it sounds like a big kiss @$$ to Dick. When the add for this book came out, I was so excited because I thought we were going to find out much more about Steve Hartman, Doc Tremblay, and Chalker, but where was Chris Caracci in all this?

Summary: Marcinko giving some of his men their due.
Review: Great stories from a group of skilled and dedicated soldiers told in the only way they know how, with honesty, brutality and in some cases a sense of humor. This is a fast read that kept me enthralled because of the pace of the book. The stories are long enough to give you some detail and the situations and short enough that there are no lapses of boredom. It is a great book for non-fiction action of some of great warriors who really loved what they were doing.

Summary: The Real Team, The Consummate Professional
Review: I found this book to be very benefitial. While Dirty Dick does the intros, It is in his giving his men a moment of glory, that provides the insight into what makes a power team effective that is the key here. For the manager looking at building a power team for his firm, this book gives insight into the real individuals that Cmdr. Marcinko chose to be a part of his real teams... SeAL Six and Red Cell, and why he chose them. I had the priviledge of working with these guys while in the Marines in the mid-late 80's. They were every bit as crazy and effective as the Old Man stated they were. By the way I have a personally signed copy of the book by ole' Dirty Dick himself... makes it that much sweeter. Hoo-Yah!

Summary: There is so much to say about this book.
Review: I had the honor of attneding a Marcinko book signing once in his SEAL birth town of Coronado CA. I looked at him he looked at me. There was something there you know. It was so clear that he is a true leader. I think that's why Real Team is such an appropriate title for this book. He is for real and he wasn't afraid to "stare me down."

Summary: Sorry, Dick, it's Doom on the Reader time...
Review: I have read every book in the Rogue Warrior series, and am disappointed in this one, to say the least. Looks to me like Dickie took the easy way out on this one. The number of team members profiled here is noticeably minimal, and the choices are odd, with some more unfamiliar names present while expected names are glaringly absent. The stories lack depth and detail and who cares how many brothers and sisters the guys had? Even the writing is bigger to fill more pages with this fluff. If you're going to delegate the writing, train the writers, Dear Rogue!

Summary: interesting background material, NOT a Rogue warrior novel
Review: I never got around to finishing it so I'll just have to say read the excerpts and be aware that this is not a novel, this is Marcinko and the real people he served with.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A great personality profile of former members & insights.
Review: I recall Marcinko as a man of few words. In the Real Team, he conducts his stories in the same fashion of the late Gen George S. Patton Jr. Maricinko, like Patton, understands the best dialogue to utilize on the troops requires direct impact and harsh descriptive terminology. He doesn't waste words by inserting any more than is required, leaving the reader to question more than what could be answered. In regards to leadership, one must realize that Marcinko was trained to develop a team, not explain the bare-bone facts of creating this motivation. As Marcinko goes on to write his story, we all can appreciate the wealth of information given to the public. And as a budding Industrial/Organizational Psycologist, I can begin to decipher the under-lying currents that develop men like this who are willing to go that extra mile. Thank you, gentlemen, for risking your lives for us. And thank you, Mr. Marcinko, for bringing this to light.

Summary: Mr. Marcinko is the best at SpecWar, and is one great read
Review: I would walk to the end of the earth for someone like the Rogue Warrior. The stories Mr. Marcinko has written are the best reads of the year. I hope that this is not the last we hear from the MAN.
