Summary: Not bad, ending a little unbelievable.
Review: The book moved pretty fast through the story. I think it would of been a little more interesting if the author dwelled into the history more of the abductor. The ending was a little dissappointing

Summary: I don't know
Review: I am up to about a 100 pages (I bought it this morning) and I have had the ending ruined for me but I'll still keep on reading because it is a fantastic book. By the way, isn't Michelle Pfeiffer supposed to be staring in a movie version of it?

Summary: A wonderful look at reality
Review: In The Deep End of the Ocean Jackelyn Mitchard has created an incredible story of how one woman deals with both her daily life and her family after the kidnapping of her son. Perhaps the most striking aspect of this novel is the fact that Mitchard gives her readers a vividly honest depiction of the agony of grief. She describes the thoughts and emotions of this woman in a manner that is so realistic it almost hurts. As the plot unfolds, readers are shocked a second time in a manner that makes everyone question the safety of a loved one and the possibility of what could happen if one day everything you've lived for is changed. The Deep End of the Ocean is a book that will make you laugh, cry, and most of all think about what you would do if it happened to you. -Leslie K. Dispensa

Summary: I didn't know I could be depressed and entertained at once.
Review: After the first three chapters, I wondered why I wanted to continue reading a story that left me somewhat depressed. The author uses such insight into building the characters, you actually feel what the mother and older brother are experiencing. If you are somone who enjoys not only a good story, but can appreciate the way an author uses words to reveal the story this book is a must. I am a mytery lover and was unsure of whether I wanted to read this book. The story unfolds like a mystery, but uses words instead of action to do so

Summary: Terrible!
Review: This book was horrible! It was slow, too descriptive, and hard to read. I think if she will cut down on the descriptions, she would be an excellent writer. A lot of the information (description) was unnecessary to the plot

Summary: Fabulous book!
Review: You love to hate the mother in the story while at the same time identifying with some of her emotions. I read the entire book in three days

Summary: Horrible
Review: When I read books, I want to not only like the characters and relate to them, but I also want to stay awake! None of this happened while reading this HORRIBLE novel, if you could call it that, normally, I'd call it trash

Summary: Identified with Beth
Review: Maybe I liked this book because I had a lot of connections with Beth. I too am the mother of three children. I have a 7 year old son, a baby daughter, and of course a "Ben" my three year old son. After reading the first chapter and discovering what the book was about, it was hard for me to pick it back up. It was so easy for me to feel Beth's emotions. I felt like I was experiencing her loss. After avoiding the book for a couple of weeks, I finally picked it back up. I found myself practically falling asleep during carpool because I had stayed up too late the night before unable to put the book down. I did find the story depressing. However, I think I came away from the book with something positive. It made me want to connect with my children more. I find myself wanting to reach out to my strong willed "Vincent." I thought the Kerry character could have been developed more. Her relationship with Ben and Vincent for that matter didn't really get explored. Overall, I enjoyed the book and am glad I read it

Summary: As superficial as they come.
Review: An airplane book. The kind you read when you have to sit on an airplane for 4 hours and don't have to think

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Don't Waste Your Time
Review: Poorly written, rambling, unsympathetic main character. One of the worst books ever........
