Summary: Get More from EVERY book you read! Read more, remember more!
Review: This is an insightful and practical book about reading books. Though several books on the market employ skimming or sighting topic sentences, Steve Moidel stays on target by teaching a method which includes reading every word of the text. From your first reading, you can measure vast improvements in both reading speed and comprehension. The learning process includes a study on how the eye operates, reading mechanics, and retaining comprehension. The price of this book is deceptively small, but it promotes a full, faster, and stronger comprehension of your entire library

Summary: First real book I've found....
Review: This is the first speed-reading book that really seemed to work for me. It was quick to read and I noticed a drastic improvement in my reading speed and comprehension. Main points are very nicely laid out for future review.

Summary: It's hard work...but probably worth it
Review: Yes, you will increase your reading speed/skills with this book, but be prepared for some hard work. The author asks that you do the exercises for 6 weeks, about an hour a day. This can be very tiring since you're doing the same set of exercises over and over and over....Unfortunately, there's no variety in the exercises. After about 4.5 weeks, I was really feeling the monotony, but stuck it out for 6 weeks.

I increased my reading speed from 300wpm to about 800wpm. That's 800 when I REALLY want to understand what I'm reading. Don't be deceived by the reading rate you get from the exercises. I got up to 1100wpm doing the exercises, but you'll quickly realize that this is not attainable when you want to read for good understanding and comprehension. For example, I was reading at 1100 doing the exercises. Then when I read Chapter 12(the reading comprehension test), I read at 800wpm. And this chapter is relatively easy to read, not like the reading I do for work-related items. I assume I'll go below 800 for my work-related reading.

This book needs updating: 1)the first line of chapter 14 says "The Internet is here to stay!" (duh); 2)chapter 8 has the exercises you do for 6 weeks. The author doesn't say if you should continue reading the book once you've read this chapter, or stop and do the exercises for 6 weeks, and then finish reading the book. But in the last paragraph of the book, he states that "the next six weeks are the most crucial." So I guess he wants you to read the entire book first?;
3)get rid of chapter 11: "Develop a Super Memory". I bought this book for speed reading, not for developing my memory.

Overall, I am happy with the results and recommend the book. You'll become a better reader, but not an expert speed reader. You'll need to go elsewhere to attain more expertise. However, for [a good price] and 6 weeks of your time, you'll probably be happy with the results too. Good luck if you decide to buy this book.
