Rating: Summary: As usual, Max provides powerful prose to ponder. Review: And the angels were silent, communicating the awe and wonder of Christ's powerful work on this old earth. Often we fail to appreciate the profundity of His movement among us, but Mr. Lucado stirs our souls out of slumber into awareness.
Rating: Summary: Nice Depiction of Christian Attributes Review: As this book presents concrete examples of how one can live a Christian life, I have come to find it more disturbing than ever how young individuals have come to regard Christianity as obsolete in their search for spirituality. Perhaps they have been exposed to legalistic dogmas of shoulds and should nots and have come to think that these are what Christianity is all about. How sad. Lucado points out that Christianity is not a to-do or not-to-do list, it is a life of choosing to see the beauty in others and to treat people equally and fairly regardless of social or economic status. It is especially profound the many ways he points out that for those who want to find Jesus, they must serve those in need and to live according to the teachings of the Apostles. He goes on to say that you will much more likely find God by offering your unconditional love and support to your fellow man than you will reading a horoscope or trying to summon a spirit. Yes, perhaps a little outreach and a little love can do more wonders than any mystic or materialistic pursuit of the so-called good life.
Rating: Summary: Angels take a bow. Review: Enjoyable and well written, but lacks the reality and insight of "The Autobiography of Jesus of Nazareth and the Missing Years". Max Lucado has clearly done his research and presented a wonderful traditional view of our Lord. If you do not enjoy being challenged as you read - with regard to accepted doctrine - then this is definitely the book for you. Lovingly presented and skillfully written. I look forward to seeing more books from this author.

Rating: Summary: An amazing insight on our Lord's final week Review: I am writing this because I want others to know His healing touch. This book gave me a diffrent angle to look Jesus' final week and how what He did and said tell us the message He was sent to bring. Max Lucado knows what he is saying and how to explain it so that we who are not theologens can read and understand and weep with that knowledge. Please read this book, because we all need that insight.
Rating: Summary: This book changed my perspective forever. Review: I completely love this book and have bought several and passed out to friends and family. Like no other book, it brought me anspeakable peace. Through it, I finally gave myself permission to let God be God and me be me. I especially enjoy the non-denominational approach Lucado uses. I recommend any book Lucado writes. He is greatly annointed with wisdom and insight.
Rating: Summary: It's as if Max is in the room with you telling his stories. Review: I have only recently discovered the Max's work. This is the best of his books that I have read so far. It is a signficant discussion of the thoughts, emotions, and actions in Jesus' last days on Earth. Max is a story-teller extraordinaire. You will not be disappointed with the book. It is a good read and the short chapters make it excellent for morning or evening devotionals.
Rating: Summary: Lucado at his very best....! Review: I so appercaited Max Lucado's "View" of what a Christain Life & Walk really entails... not church doctrine, but scripture based livng. Lucado stresses just how much we are loved by our Abba(Father). Knowing the John 3:16: God so loved the world... is not always enough to truly feel the extent that was gone too, so we are redeemed forever. No Legalism or church "rules" can surplant the TRUTH. I needed saving from my own self imposed "Pharisee"... the ways I felt I need to be & the path I just knew I needed to walk to be a "Good Little Christian" This marvelous book has helped put all this in it's rightful place & claim the truth.. Jesus nothing but... Blessed be, L<><

Rating: Summary: The Message behind the Message Review: In his always thought provoking style, Max Lucado once again helps the reader have an encounter with the Almighty. He brings to life the final week of Jesus in a fresh, unique way that causes the reader's heart to break, mend, and break again. The timeless Truths of Jesus aren't embellished, because they do not require embellishment.Instead, they are told in ways that nearly everyone can relate to, but Lucado still manages to help the reader hold on to that ethereal feeling of a "one on one" encounter with the Author of the universe. A Must Read!
