Rating: Summary: Riveting story lines and characters Review: Robert Ludlum has an unsurpassable talent of knitting a large scale intrigue and have his characters unravel the mysteries of the plot one logical step at a time. Both Scofield and Taleniekov will have to wait until the next page to know more than we do. No short cuts, no long detours, just straight forward, nail bitting, edge of your seet action. My only regret is that this book resembles every other Ludlum Book. But hey that's why we love him
Rating: Summary: Ludlum provides a novel which cann't be left unfinished Review: Robert Ludlum is really capable of gripping you with full force with his work. This book is one of best novels i have read. If you haven't read it and you like thrill ,you must read it.After reading this novel i feel i should read all of Ludlum's novels Two best people with striking similarities and ready to kill each other coming together to save the world from a circle of killers. The circle which has penetrated all the governments, which is capable of bringing the superpowers dangerously close to a world war and is all set to capture the world.
Rating: Summary: Why can't the ratings go higher than 10?! Review: Sweet God, what a book! This book was absolutley wonderful. For anyone who has interests in espionage, corruption, and general grand-scale conspiracy, buy this book NOW. Talaniekov, Scofield, and Antonia are all very believeable characters, all with sad pasts. My personal thoughts are that this is one of the best books I have ever read. I'd rate it a 19. And this wonderful book all started with a madman in the hills of Corsica, a final prophecy, a shepard boy with 'a voice crueler than the wind', and the words, "PER NOSTRO CIRCOLO".
Rating: Summary: Makes you think twice...about EVERYTHING Review: They are everywhere, yet they are invisible. They exist, yet no one knows about them. They are the Matarese. For decades they have existed in the shadows of everyday life...politics, finance, real estate, corporations. You name it, they have it. After a century of waiting, they will have what was promised to them by their founder-the world. Only the worlds best spies can destroy them-Brandon Alan Scofield and Vasili Talaniekov. They are sworn enemies, but only united can they fight this incredible army. I thought this book was incredible! Basic spy theory with awesome plot. Top CIA agent united with Top KGB agent to destroy an international circle of killers-the Matarese Circle. This book makes you think about who is running our countries, banks, businesses, and other aspects of our daily lives...Robert Ludlum did such an awesome job on this novel that don't want to read his sequal-THE MATARESE COUNTDOWN, because i don't want to be let down...
Rating: Summary: the matarese cirlce a suspenseful story of espionage Review: This book draws you in and does not let you go. this book is about two spies, one working for russian intelegence and the other working for u.s. intelegence have a stickey situation where they want the other dead but fear there own lives are in danger due to a secret scociety called the matarese. this book is filled with suspense, drama, non stop action and most of all you get a look into the secret life of secret agents.
Rating: Summary: WOW...Ten Times Better Than Bourne...Ludlum's Best Review: This book is a masterpiece of suspense, intrigue, excitement, intricate detail, spectacular action, and explosive scenes that make Jason Bourne look like a feeble character in comparison. By far the most spectacular Ludlum book in my opinion, the Matarese Circle starts with the two most incredible and delightfully violent scenes that I have ever read and, from that point on it simply does not stop. You will be pounded with intense scenes from the beginning to the end. WARNING: It is not for the faint of heart or the politically correct. This book has so many shocks and twists that by the end I felt like I had gone twenty rounds with Tyson in his prime.
It starts with two events that shock the American and Russian governments so deeply they are thrown into an uneasy balance with each other. Not to mention the book takes place at the height of the Cold War making their relationship even more delicate. Enter Scofield a.k.a Beowulf Agate and Talenikov a.k.a. The Serpent, the two best and most highly respected deep cover spies for their respective governments. After Talenikov is warned by an old spycraft teacher about a mysterious organization called the Matarese that threatens the stability of governments the world over, he must seek out Beowulf Agate. Only he and Beowulf can stop this overwhelmingly powerful organization that has infiltrated the highest levels of government. Only one problem: the two renowned spies are bitter enemies that bear a hatred towards each other deeper than the ocean.
Wonderfully written and artfully detailed, I only wish that Mr. Ludlum was alive to continue writing such awesome books. If you're a Ludlum fan or just looking for a book that gives delight throughout, read The Matarese Circle. It will not disappoint.
Rating: Summary: Superb Review: This book is an excellent thriller. I read it twice, the second time being this week. In my opinion this is his best book so far, the action and suspense are spellbinding and you really get into the characters. He'll climb mountains trying to better it.
Rating: Summary: Fun read, but pretty fluffy Review: This book is good. It is a fun adventure story that will carry you along from scene to scene. It would be marked 5 stars if fluffy spy espionage were on the top of my list.. which it isn't. It isn't great writing, the same artifices are used many times, and the book contradicts itself occassionally. However, it is a great adventure romp if you like fluffy adventures.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've ever read Review: This book is great, It was suspenseful, and action packed.Ludlum is a great author
Rating: Summary: Could it be real? Review: This book is really heavy to read, it has to many characters and to many places, the advantage is that many of them are killed in the same chapter so you don't have to follow everybody's story, but is a good one, it keeps you reading, the only thing that I don't know is if it could be real that a spy form USSR and a spy from USA could work together, is a heavy and a nice reading.
