It also helps me to understand better of what kind of difficulties and challenges my husband needs to encounter in his life. As a new Christian, this book really teaches me how to pray for my marriage in every little detail, and most importantly, God always answer our prayers!

Review: I've been married for 12 years and found this book to be a breath of fresh air. It opened my eyes to the opportunities that I've missed out on over the years because I wasn't specific in my prayers for my husband. This book really helped me to understand how I should be praying and what I should be specifically praying for. What a blessing! This book can help anyone at any stage of marriage, but, I wish I had read it years ago.

Summary: This book literally saved my marriage!
Review: This book came recommended to me by a Christian counselor. At that point, I considered my marriage to be dead and buried. But, I read it anyway. The first chapter is the hardest and the only one that requires real work. It took me two weeks to be able to move past it. Like the author says in the beginning, I was thinking, "Pray for him? I don't even like him!" But when I finally cleansed my own soul of some of the resentment I had been carrying and released my plans for "changing him" to God, there were some amazing turnarounds. I have compared this book to a personal fitness trainer. You can go to the gym and exercise, etc., but you might not be doing the right kinds of exercise to really pinpoint the muscles you need to work. This book breaks a man's life down into very specific areas that need your support in prayer. I mean - very - specific. Instead of just praying something like, "God, please help him to be a better man and not drink so much, and make his job better," I learned how to pray in ways that specifically applied to those areas. I stopped praying for what I wanted and instead left it up to God. He changed things in our lives that I never would've known to ask for. I give all the credit for the positive turnaround to God, and I thank Him for this book which was my "personal prayer trainer." I highly recommend getting the study guide, too.

Summary: Good book for any stage of marriage.
Review: I have a great marriage and was skeptical about this book when I got it as a gift. I read it though and I love it. I read one of the prayers every day. After going through the book in order, I now choose one based on what is going on in our lives. I think that this is good for those with marraiges in crisis and for old happily marrieds like us. The only draw back is that the prayers are interspersed with the discussion of the prayer, so you have to kind of hunt down the prayer you want for that topic.
