Summary: Very Entertaining!
Review: I absolutely enjoyed this book! I am a stay at home mom of a three year old and a 10 month old and I was able to finish this book in about three days. It is a very entertaining book and a fast read. The character is very loveable, she keeps you wanting to come back for more.

Summary: Almost as great as the first!
Review: After finishing the first, I couldn't wait to get the second, and I am so glad that I did. Although I enjoyed the first better, this one still has all of the laughs and thrills of the first. Once again I had my fingers crossed praying for Becky to pull through. The one thing about this one that I enjoyed better than the first is the fact that the ending is a LOT more unpredictable. If your looking for a good fast read, start with confessions of a shopaholic, but you might as well go ahead and buy the second because, trust me, your gonna get it anyways!

Summary: Just Great!
Review: This book actually stressed me out a little in the beginning! I really enjoyed it though, the ending was great as well. Not your typical ending!

Summary: Kinsella does it again!!
Review: This is an utterly fabulous, funny book about losing everything and finding it all again somewhere else. I giggled through the entire thing (particularly embarrassing, since I was reading it on a near-empty plane and I'm sure my fellow passengers thought there was a crazy person yuckking it up with her imaginary friend up in 4 C.) This is a fun book, and a very enjoyable read. For anyone who's ever contemplated surviving on rations of mac & cheese or ramen noodles for a week in order to swing a FABULOUS pair of Blahniks. (An investment, really...)

Summary: amazing
Review: This book is amazing. Both of the shopoholic books are adictive. Once you start reading them you are unable to put them down. I can not wait until the new book in the series comes out!!! I highly recommend this book to anyone!!!

Summary: Wait, didn't I already read this?
Review: If you read and enjoyed the first novel in this series (Confessions of a Shopaholic) then you'll probably enjoy this book too... because it's practically the same story over again. Girl shops compulsively, buries herself in debt, contributes to a blunder that affects nearly everyone she knows within a 50 mile radius, blindly stumbles upon the solution that not only brings her success and recognition, but the affection of the one and only Luke Brandon. Girl gets boy. Girl saves day.

The first three chapters of this book were so monotonous I considering chucking the whole thing. Kinsella's over-zealous reintroduction of our friend Becky crossed that gray line where humorous becomes annoying ridiculous. She gives us page after page of Becky's inner ramblings, her shopping philosophies and her self-absorbed outlook on life. I wanted to shout, "OK, I get it!" Then, around the fiftieth page, the story finally takes off with a hilarious account of Becky and Luke's first weekend getaway where certain obstacles present themselves and pave the path for the rest of the book.

After its awkward beginning, Kinsella's writing becomes clear, concise and downright funny. While the overall theme of this story clearly mirror's her previous one, I was still able to find myself laughing out loud at many of the scenarios. The creation of such lovable characters should be considered an accomplishment, and I look forward to reading Becky's next adventures in Shopaholic Ties the Knot.

Summary: THE BEST!
Review: I really loved this book! It's totally amazing... she may think as a Cinderella in certain ways but is really good. The first one i read in the airplane going from Brazil to Hong Kong, far han? But it was the best thing to do, i read in 2 days and the second one i read even faster!! I'm really looking foward to read the next one!! And I have to confess in some parts of the book i really wished to be in Becky's place!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Possibly better than the first!
Review: And I thought Becky had learned her lesson the first time around! I didn't think it was possible to rival the first, but "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan" is an absolute riot. Becky takes her addiction to the point of being almost scary, but in the end is able to pull herself back and save her day.

Summary: If you need inspiration on your next shopping trip
Review: This is a nice, fluffy example of genre fiction. The prose is bubbly, a touch over the top, and very upbeat. It is a pleasant book to read when you want a little pick-me-up. It borders on science fiction because, let's face it, the male object of interest is an extremely thinly disguised Richard Branson (CEO of Virgin Records) and the heroine is a sport shopper. This will not happen on our planet!

I found it gave me encouragement as I was planning to do some clothes shopping and the frothy tone of the book and the sheer joy of shopping convinced me the odious task of pawing through the racks at the Jones New York Outlet might possibly be jolly good fun. But, I digress.

Structurally, the book is good. There are no glitches in the plotline (a problem with genre fiction) and the story flows along nicely.

The only thing that weirded me out was the borderline pathology of her addiction to shopping. The author skates along the DSM IV in a teetery way. But of course, a literary character who is uncomplicated can be so boring.

Summary: More Fun With Becky
Review: Shopaholic Takes Manhattan is a lot of light, fluffy fun. Becky's story of her travels to New York is hilarious. Imagine her awe at discovering the sample sale concept, pancakes for breakfast and all sorts of other non-essentials that so many of us take for granted. As in the first novel, Becky's shopping habits get her in trouble, but her quick thinking, as expected, will surely save the day. This one is fun and feather light, nothing taxing, the perfect light reading.
