Summary: Excellent Sequel
Review: Becky is as lovable as ever. The author continues to develop the characters well and sets up incredibly creative and funny scenes and story lines. The use of foreshadowing and well-planned climactic moments all work together to make the story an enjoyable read.

I highly recommend this book, but I suggest you read "Confessions of Shopaholic" first. Enjoy!

Summary: Better than the first.
Review: I can't wait for the third book to come out in March. The second book (Shopaholic takes Manhattan) was better than the first. I can't wait to see what she does with the third.

Summary: Shopaholic Fun's Continues!
Review: When I first started reading Shopaholic takes Manhattan I have confess that I was a little disappointed in the beginning, so I stopped reading it. But last week with the arrive of Shopaholic Ties the Knot from Amazon/UK I decided that it was time to start reading Shopaholic Takes Mahanttan again. And I was glad that I did. I forgot how much fun Becky could be. I also realized that there is a little of her in each of us! So, if the beginning of the book seem slow, don't stop like I did because there is a reward at the end!

Summary: funny
Review: a fun read all in all and for everyone who fell in love with becky in the best first book it's a worthwhile sequel. becky once again loses control of her finances and her life, this time in new york. and sometimes it's hard to feel sorry for her because it is a self-inflicted, but there aren't many of us who can say we haven't erred in judgement in front of a good sample sale. what can get annoying is how often she loses control - it gets old after awhile. but, despite everything crashing around becky she still has a good heart and manages to pick up and stand up for herself, which is why she is endearing.

Summary: Quite the Dissappointment
Review: Becky Bloomwood has become a bit unbearable. It was quite disappointing to see that she really didn't learn anything after the first novel. "Confession's ..." left one thinking that Becky had finally gotten a clue as to how self economoy works. As the book opened with a series of collections letters we see that nothing at all changed, and if anything that she regressed in intelligence and spending. I would have understood losing control in Manhattan but she never had any control.
The other thing that bothered me is that Becky seems to be quite the liar. It could easily have been titled "Pathological Liar takes Manhattan". As a reader, I found all of her lies just about unbearable and I simply could not sympathize with her. She seemed to lie without purpose and at the drop of a hat. SHe lied to everyone and then we are supposed to feel sorry that her neighbors thought she had made up Luke. Her lies only get worse in Manhattan.
And my final urk... What was with Suze and Tarquin hooking up? Totally bizarre and unneccesary. Oh well!

Overall, there were enjoyable episodes, but not nearly as satisfying as Confessions, or other novels in the Brit Girl genre.

Summary: Even better that the first book....
Review: Becky has finally paid up all of her debts, and even made friends with Derek Smeath, her bank manager... Her new job on TV is going great, and her love life couldn't be any better... So she deserves a little break from keeping her financial affairs in order, doesn't she? After all, she repaied them once and like Luke always says: "you've got to spend money to make money". All these clothes and stuff are are an investment in her job and her future right?

But Becky puts all this mess behind her when she follows Luke to NYC - after all, she's going to get a new job on CNN with a much bigger salary, and pay them all quickly. So she keeps herself by getting fimiliar with New York - or rather, it's shops.

But her past catches up with her and her financial situation is splashed all over the front page of "Daily World". All of the sudden, all her New York prospects are not interested in her, and she loses Luke. When she returns to London, things are only getting worse: she loses her job on TV only to be replaced by her ex - co - worker Clare, and the only chance of getting back on the show is to tell her story soap - opera style and get some advice from Clare...

How will Becky get out of her overdraft & pay all her bills? Read the book... But don't worry: she does manage to get out of it this time too, and even get her revenge on the Morning Coffee staff... And, find the job of her dreams...

Summary: Shopaholic Takes Manhattan is Perfect Beach Book
Review: I enjoyed the first book, "Confessions of a Shopaholic," very much indeed, even though it sort of dissolved into silliness at the end. That didn't matter; it was the character, not the plot, who made the book. This sequel is even better. Obviously, we're not talking great literature here, but not all books can (or should!) be great literature. This is the perfect book to grab for funny, well-written, light fiction. Parts of it will have you laughing out loud. I'm not even going to pass my copy along; I think it's quite likely that I'll read it again someday!

Summary: you know what to expect!
Review: this book has the same plot with its prequel, confessions of a shopaholic!
shopping problems - blown out of control - crisis - picking up the pieces - getting it together - with luke brandon thrown at the end!
still, it's an easy and quick read.. through becky bloomwood's irrepressible shopping habit tended to get irritating at times!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Guilty Pleasure
Review: Becky is a big fat liar, can't control herself and a world class shopper. She's even worse than in the first book and I enjoyed every page of it. If she has a relapse, I'd love to read about it again.
