Summary: zzzzzzzzzz
Review: It's not worthy of ONE star even - I've been reading this book FOREVER and still haven't finished it!!! It's been a struggle since page 1 and finally had to put it down about halfway thru. I agree with a previous reviewer: there's no one I relate to and no one I care about. So far, there has been nothing to hold my interest; I keep thinking it's going to get better but it hasn't yet. I hate not finishing a book I started but I just can't read another page. I'm very disappointed w/this book and do not recommend unless you're looking for a cure for insomnia.

Summary: Sub Par
Review: I found this to be a very "annoying" read. For an author to write in the first person and then switch to scenes where he was not present, and to read the thoughts of others,as in the third person,is too much. The plot became more and more of the same with characters performing unbelievable actions. I have enjoyed reading other Turow novels, but this was a definite turn off which I just managed to plow through.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A fun read by Turow.
Review: A tremendous force by Turow this proves that this guy is better than Grisham. The Characters are interesting! Plenty of plot twists. A true tour-de-force. I had no idea that this book had this ending. It blew my mind.

Summary: Welcome back Turow to the city you made famous in fiction.
Review: The characters are first rate. the plotting and setting is great. I was spellbound! Turow in top form! great storytelling. I did not put this one down.

Summary: Don't waste your time
Review: Hopefully, I'll never forget this book because it was a waste of time, by the time I got to page 250, I realized why I didn't like it - none of his characters were nice or good people, there was no one that I wanted to relate to. So why did I continue and read it? Because I had mentioned that I liked this author and a friend had bought me this as a gift. Normally a book would take less than a week to read. This one took forever, don't waste your time.

Summary: Fun book
Review: I like this book. Not great, but good beach reading. The ending is a little tacky, but the character development is top notch.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Heck of a thriller.
Review: GREAT AS ALWAYS AnD NEVER BORING!

Summary: Great audiobook, mediocre story
Review: I have been a fan of Grisham's legal thrillers for some time. Unfortunately, this story only got the 'legal' part right. The characterizations were quite interesting, but the suspense took far too long to develop. It is only in the last 20% of the story where anything remotely resembling a nail-biting situation arises. When thos esituations do arrive they are compelling, but take on this book only if you're a patient reader!
Ken Howard gives an inspired performance on the audiobook version. His resonant baritone is consistently compelling to listen to, and his voices for the characters effectively convey the emotions they are experiencing. Howard's performance, not the story, was the highlight of this book for me. Had I been reading, I probably would have put the book down by the midpoint.

Summary: Personally Bored
Review: A very slow, tedious, and shallow story. Very disappointing. Makes you wonder if he wrote this to be instantly sold as a screenplay. I lost interest in the story several times because I didn't really feel I got to know or care about the characters, and I only went back to the book because I was determined to finish it. Very contrived ending. Glad to be finished. The book doesn't display the skills he used in Presumed Innocent, his best attempt to date.
