Rating: Summary: Turow's BEST yet! Review: I have read all of Turow's books! I read One-L during my first year of law school and was amazed at how well he portrayed the experience. I was floored by Presumed Innocent and all of his other books. But let me tell all of you this: THIS IS TUROW'S BEST BOOK YET! Turow takes this opportunity to take you inside the minds of a personal injury lawyer with a "shady" side, an FBI agent struggling with her sexuality and a diverse group of other players involved in a tremendously enthralling story about corruption in the court system. As each chapter unfolded, Turow continued expanding on not one, but several storylines, which fit together neatly in the end. I highly recommend this book to any fan of the legal thriller!
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable, character-driven novel Review: I found the book a pleasure to read. The characters are richly drawn, and the plot is intricate and interesting. The "Evon" character is initially annoying, but by the time I finished the book I really felt for her situation and understood the transformation she went through over the course of the novel.
Rating: Summary: Turow's Best Book Yet! Review: Turow's new book is great. It is a thrilling tale of crime, law, etc., as always, but the personal feelings involved, and the mixed emotions it brings out in readers is thrilling. I have read all of Turow's books and this is my favorite yet. BUY THIS BOOK!
Rating: Summary: PERSONAL INJURIES Review: I AM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT BOOK PEOPLE ARE READING WHEN THEY GIVE THIS BOOK ANYMORE THAN 2 STARS. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A SCOTT TUROW HARDCOVER AGAIN
Rating: Summary: Shallow Effort Borders on Tedious Review: The characters, the story and the outcome solicit only a big, "So what!" When all was said and done I cared little for these characters and the beds they had each made for themselves to lie in.
Rating: Summary: Tedious Review: This topic of corruption among judges should have been gripping. Unfortunately the story line gets terribly tangled in the lives of some characters who are not very interesting or appealling.
Rating: Summary: Second unfinished Turow book Review: This is the second book of his that I haven't finished. I only got halfway through his last book before I gave up. This one I got about 3/4 through before saying to myself "Enough already". I agree with one person who said Turow's habit of using charters first, then last, then full name to be very confusing. I kept waiting for something to happen and it never did as far as I was concerned. I have given up on this author. I refuse to buy anymore of his books.
Rating: Summary: Boring Review: Don't waste your time reading this book. The characters never come to life and the plot was hard to follow (you need to keep a chart of who's who).
Rating: Summary: Need Sleep? Review: B...O...R...I...N...G If you need to fall asleep, read this. It never took me so long to finish a book!
Rating: Summary: Extremely interesting characters Review: I've read all of Turow's books and I think he's really done well with this one. The characters will live on in my mind for years, just as Brushy (a character from a previous book) still does. Excellent work. The narrative jumps from one character to another was sometimes confusing, though. But still, a whale of a lot better book than most. Turow is a really good writer who is really thinking. He makes it worth your time.
