Summary: Not his best work
Review: I have written before that I am a fan of Sparks and have read all of his books except the new one, I'd pass on this one. He seems to be recycling his plot lines more and more, which I think he realized and picked up something new for "The Guardian." Normally by the first couple pages I am hooked and can't put the book down, but let's say this one was much easier to let go of. It's not a bad story, but it's not his best work. I recommend if you're going to read a Sparks book for the first time, don't choose this one.

Review: I've like Nicholas Sparks novels since 1999 with Message In A Bottle,but this one as to be the most dissapointing one of them all.I was like "Been there,done that."Read The Notebook or his new one The Guardian instead of this one.

Review: This book was not as enjoyable as Nicholas Sparks'previous books. I thoroughly enjoyed reading "The Notebook", and "A Walk to Remember." Now I have mixed feelings about reading the most recent book.

Summary: Good, but Can be Better
Review: I've been a Nicholas Sparks fan since his first book, so I run for the new releases and buy them right away. I liked the perspective of the story being lived through memories being shared between family members, but maybe that was the only new thing. I think, though, his main theme isn't varied enough between his books. They're starting to get that "read one, read them all" feel to them. It would have been a GREAT book if the familiar story line had been much more obscured. Still a good read for a dreary day.

Summary: Cliche City
Review: Are you a thinking person? No? Then you'll love anything by Nicholas Sparks. As a middle-aged suburban housewife, I guess I'm supposed to devour stories like these. Frankly, it was about as dull as dishwater. The characters were so boring, the plot so plodding, it amounts to about 212 pages of sedative. Don't waste your time on this silly, predictable story.

Summary: Nicholas Sparks: Satisfying As Always
Review: When you pick up a Nicholas Sparks novel, you generally can already guess three things about it:
1. Two people will fall in love and have a passionate romance.
2. The romance will last a lifetime, but end suddenly.
3. Even though you know these two things and have a hunch how the story will end, you still want to savor the story in between. Once again, Nicholas Sparks has written a beautiful novel with the perfect setting. Two strangers end up spending a weekend alone at a bed and breakfast on the East Coast during a hurricane. They, of course, find the love of their lives in each other and have one blissful weekend together before they have to go back to their respective lives waiting for them on the other side of the magical weekend. This is a great weekend read because of its short length and ability to draw you into it. You feel like you're swept away into the book on a vacation of your own. This book, in hardback, will sit on the bookshelf in my guest bedroom for the reading pleasure of my own weekend guests.

Summary: *A couple hours diversion*
Review: Just finished this book. Never read anything before by Nicholas Sparks and I must say I enjoyed his writing very much. The story was a little reminiscent of "The Bridges of Madison County" in that it was about chance encounters and true love found and lost. The difference in this book was the two principle characters were both divorced and free to explore an exciting affair and treasure the experience for ever after. If you are in need of a little diversion from the "war" stuff check this out.

Review: Although I would never select "Nights in Rodanthe" as my favorite Sparks novel, you still need a box of tissue nearby to get you through the narrative. Adrienna Willis sits at the kitchen table with her grieving daughter and relates a love story sure start the tears. An old tale retold in a new manner.

Summary: Let Down
Review: After devouring Sparks' other books, I seen this one and purchased two copies before the book was even released. One for my sister and one for myself. It took me a while to get into this book. Even then, I had to force myself to finish it hoping that it would get better as it went along. My sister read through it faster than I did, which doesn't happen normally. We both agree that this is definitely NOT one of his best books. However, we are still holding out hope for his next book "The Guardian". Our fingers are crossed.

Review: A few pages into this book it began to seem very familiar. Where had I heard this story? Why yes, it's The Bridges of Madison County with new names.
