Summary: Wish it had never ended.
Review: What a great story. This is by far, the best of the Oprah's book club. I did not want this story to end. Novalee Nation, was such an inspiration to all. I was so pleased that she would not return to the loser who dropped her off. But what a forgiving person she was. And carrying that tree all along and then planting it, at the AA.ladies house was so perfect. I wanted not to finish this book. I even slowed down at the end because I wanted Novalee in my life always. It was the best.

Summary: Best book I've read in a long time.
Review: This was the best book I've read in a long time. I didn't want it to end. The characters where so real and honest. I want more.....

Summary: Great quick read with very loveable characters
Review: Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz is trying to get home so is Novalee Nation. A whimsical story with love, trust, friendship, and betrayal. The last pages where Novalee must undo a lie comes from inspiration from her former no-good boyfriend. The lie that eats at him is not believable but that's my only criticism.

Summary: A Very Satisfying Read
Review: I really enjoyed this book. It's wonderful to discover a fresh voice like Billie Letts. Along with FRIED CALAMARI, this is the most interesting book I've read in a while. I can't wait to read more from Billie Letts.

Summary: Great book!!! Truely a story for readers who enjoy a good s
Review: Where The Heart is was one of the best books that I have read in a long time. Following the life of Novalee Nation was very exciting, starting from the first chapter in the car with Willy Jack to the last chapter of taking him back to Tennessee. I am from Oklahoma and know the area where the book was based! All I can say is way to go Billie Letts on potraying the Great State of Oklahoma!!!!! I have already loaned my copy out to several people and each of them have said that they too love the book.

Summary: A wonderful novel....laugh out loud funny!
Review: Billie Letts has written a wonderful novel! When I wasn't laughing out loud I was crying. This book truly captures the South and the wonderful individuals who make it so unique. Letts allows you to not only get to know her characters, but to become their friends....I highly recommend this book to you. I loved it!

Summary: a very refreshing story
Review: This story is one that I did not want to put down. It is a tale of a beautiful character that prides herself by being courteous, respectful and kind to everyone she meets. And the story goes on to tell how she uses these qualities to help her manage all her incredibly hard times. Her sincere kindness lands her the most treasurable friends one could want and they guide her through life!! This story was refreshing and reminded me how valuable life is. And how much it really matters how we treat people. It's too bad the world isn't filled with more Novalee's

Summary: Very encouraging book.
Review: I found this book to be very encouraging. That when life closes one door you have to open another. For such a young girl, she showed so much courage, wisdom and maturity.

I have recently traveled to this part of the Southwest and it helped me picture the enviornment she was in. So I appreciated her triumph even more because I witnessed how isolated that area of the United States is. It made me feel better to think that there were kind and compassionate people living there.

Summary: This is one book you are sorry to finish.
Review: The characters Billie Letts created became my friends. To watch Novalee develop as she takes all the disappointments and hard times in stride and refuses to become a "victim" was inspirational. It reaffirms that it is what is inside all of us that matters more than where we live or what we do. Never let your dreams die.

Summary: The best Oprah book so far
Review: Without a doubt one of the best books I've ever read. Could not and did not want to put it down. Now I want to read everything that BL wrote. I found myself with a pencil, marking off passages. A great read from beginning to end!!!!
