Summary: Learn to Cherish the Value of Friendship
Review: I thought this book was abosolutely awesome!! I just could not put it down. Everytime I got the chance I was reporting the devastating, romantic, and thrilling events of Novalee Nation to all of my friends. I think this book taught me how to cherish loved ones. Sometimes you take for granted all the luxuries that you have until reality strikes and you read or see about someone else's circumstances. Novalee had one disaster after another, but despite it all she had friends. People who cared for her despite her unfortunate circumstances. It was because of my friends that I was able to bounce back from a possibly fatal situation. I think we should all recognize and honor our friends and loved ones.

Summary: A "sweet" book but...
Review: A bookseller recommended this book to me before it had the dubious honour of becoming labelled an Oprah book (us non-Americans don't have the same fascination with Oprah, sorry). I found it to be a "sweet" book, but wanted it to end so I could read someting more intellectually stimulating and satisfying. The writing was rather twee at times. Nevertheless it was a heartwarming story, and if you're in the mood for something light, this might be it.

Summary: fantastic characters!
Review: I greatly enjoyed this book, which was filled with interesting and well-developed characters. it is a very easy read and the reader is hooked by the first page. i thought the ending was a bit abrupt, but overall i would recommend this book to anyone.

Summary: Five stars says it all!
Review: There were numerous times I could not put this book down. I have read two other books from Oprah's Book Club and will continue to do so, she has great taste! This is a must read!

Summary: wonderful wonderful wonderful reading
Review: It was inspiring and moving to read about a character who had every reason in the world to be a negative, cynical loser with a chip the size of melon on their shoulder. Novalee had her struggles but she was a beautiful friend to so many in such a short amount of time. These qualities were the most inspiring things I was able to take from this beautiful novel. Thanks O for the suggestion.

Summary: Once you start reading this book you can't put it down.
Review: Novalee Nation is a brave young girl that wants to start a life with her boyfriend but, along the way to California he drops her off at a Wal-Mart and leaves her there. All she has is ten dollars and the clothes off her back. She is seventeen, seven months pregnant, and thirty-seven pounds over weight and sevens are an unlucky number for her. She ends up living in the Wal-Mart until her baby is born. Luckly she meets people in the town that like her a lot and take her in after the baby is born. She is able to start her life over again in this small town. You also see how her ex-boyfriend, Willy Jack, gets paid back for the way he treated her.

Summary: Brilliant descirption of a young teens life in the rough.
Review: I never really read but something made me pick up this book, I just could not put it down. I think that Novalee is brave. I felt like I really knew these characters I felt for Lexie when Roger beat her, for Finny when Novalee turned him down, for Benny when he had no prom date. I loved this book I hope they make a movie out of it i would love to see it come to life on screen, but I'm sure it wouldn't be as good as the book. I told everbody about this book and I am passing it to all my friends a few went out and bought it and loved it.

Summary: GRABBED MY ATTENTION FROM PAGE ONE TO THE FINISH
Review: How could anyone not like Novalee Nation and the way she forms a family for herself and her daughter. The people she meets that help her form this family are truly remarkable in there richness of character.
