Rating: Summary: A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE Review: I absolutely LOVED this book. Everything from the quirky, colorful and most interesting characters to the involving, engaging, endearing plot. You, the reader, are taken on a memorable journey and like all good journeys, you don't want it to end. Novalee Nation is such a spirited young woman. She is so full of courage, hope and determination that you'll cheer for her after each little stumble. Billie Letts has beautifully written a gem that shines in everyway. I look forward to reading her next novel.
Rating: Summary: Delightful Review: What a wonderful story and it was full of delightful characters - Novalee, Sister Husband, Moses Whitecotton and his wife, Benny, Lexie, Americus and ofcause, Forney Hull. I loved the happy ending and the fact that Willy Jack helps bring it about by learning a rather hard lesson about humidity. I also liked the way the buckeye was symbolic of Novalee - without solid roots, a stable home and tender loving care the two of them wilt but once these two things are achieved both the tree and Novalee bloom.
Rating: Summary: The best book I ever read! Review: This book is by far the best book I ever read. It was the type of book that made you want to read faster so that you could discover what was going to happen next, but at the same time you wanted to read slower to savor each word so that the enjoyment you got from reading it would never end. I highly recommend this book!
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've ever read Review: This book was fabulous. I could not put it down. Read cover to cover in 2 days. A definite must read!
Rating: Summary: This book has the best ending of any book I have ever read Review: I have always thought of Wal-Mart as being a very friendly place. So, I was very anxious to read a book that centers around the store. Novalee and her circle of friends held my interest from the first page. From the boyfriend who leaves her at the Wal-Mart, to the friends who teach her everything about living, and finally the man who loves and marries her, this book has a unforgetable cast of characters. I loved the ending which reminds us that telling the truth is always in your best interest. I have given the book to my husband to read and will be giving it to my 16 year old granddaughter. Where the Heart Is will hold the interest of us all.
Rating: Summary: Bravo...I loved the book Review: I was sad when the book ended because I instantly missed all the characters. I wanted to continue to peek inside their lives. They were all like my own friends, not just characters in a book. The author did a tremendous job with description. I don't think I have ever really felt a part of the story like I did with this book. I really saw each and every scence as if I were there.
Rating: Summary: "Where the Heart Is" is a heart-warming story!!! Review: "Where the Heart Is" by Billie Letts is an amazing story. She puts so much thought and creativity in her characters. She connects all the characters together in some way. Novalee Nation is a young woman that anyone would love to be around. She has a big heart and truly loves the people that saved her life. Billie Letts, with the help of Novalee and her friends, will teach you a lesson about love and friendship that you will never forget. I know I won't!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: This was one the best books I have read in a long time. I was really draw to Novalee and the other characters she meets along the way. I found it interesting how Billie Letts kept you in touch with Willie Jack and how his life turned out.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down! Review: The moment this book came I started reading it and didn't put it down until I was done. 2 weeks later I read it again! By far one of my all-time favorite books. I read Honk and Holler, too, and loved it. I'm impatiently waiting for Billie Letts' next novel!
Rating: Summary: 17 year old gal from Inidiana LOVED this book! Review: I picked up this book to pass time when I was babysitting durring the day..and couldn't put it down! I was reading this book for 3 and a half hour from the first page! If a book can keep my attention for that long from the begining it has got to be a great book! I can feel for Novele being 17 and forsed to grow up and leave her childhood behind her. it was such a great book you wanted to take in each page a deep breath on a fresh spring day! I sugest this book to anyone wanting some good summer reading... oh and This didn't only get me to read more but the kids I babysat for would read too cause they wanted to be just like me!
