Review: I thought this book was very good. Many people have writtent that they didn't like how unrealistic the things that Novalee faced were, and in many cases they may have been...however I think that this book accomplished what it set out to do, and that is give a sense of family as a community, and to show what is possible when people care about each other. I would recommend this book highly.

Review: I heard such great things about this book, so I decided to check it out. A quarter of the way through the book, I realized I was still waiting to get into it. It was not boring, but it sure was not exciting. But, what can I say, I finished it!

Summary: Among the best of Oprah's picks
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It's so uplifting and inspirational and I felt so good after I finished it. Novalee and the rest of the characters had such great STRONG names and were developed in such a way that made me care for them. I only didn't like the rape/assault scene, since it seemed forced and didn't go with the flow of the book. But a must-read nonetheless. The ending is a tearjerker, and very heartfelt. The best thing about the book is that it includes an interview with Billie Letts and allows her to explain why she chose certain plot developments (like why Wal-Mart, why names like Novalee and Americus, etc.). It made it a better book after reading the interview.

Summary: Enjoyed it!
Review: When I first read the back cover I thought, "This book sounds really corny!" But after reading the first page, I could not put the book down. The author did a wonderful job creating interesting, vivid characters that you actually fall in love with. The seemingly boring setting of a small town in Oklahoma suddenly became complex and diverse. The author also did a nice job on removing race, class and social barriers; none of her "odd" characters seemed strange at all. I was disappointed when the book ended because I wanted to continue peeping into their lives. I normally do not read much fiction, but this book was a winner for me!

Summary: Where the Heart is - an excellent novel for all ages
Review: I am 14 years old. My mom recommended this book for me to try to read. After I started reading it, I could not put it down. Billie put so much emotion into the making of this book, I would love to find out where she got her ideas. I laughed, I cryed, and I felt all different emotions. It was one of the best books I have ever read and I reccomend this to anyone who is looking for a good book to sit down and read. I got through this book in 4 days, school days, so I could only read at night. It is very easy to catch on to and is a quick paced book. Thanks to the wonderful author - Billie Letts

Summary: Where the heart is...
Review: A beautifully written book, that grabs you right into the story. The characters come to life, their names really mean something if you are paying attention. They have STRONG NAMES! I would recomend this to anyone, and have. I will follow this Author through her carreer she is fabulous.

Review: Disjointed and utterly unbelievable. The "Harlequin Romance" of literature, the "Brady Bunch" of television, the "Pollyanna" of cinema, this mediocre-at-best selection has achieved undeserved acclaim. Standards for literary merit appear to be taking a header.

Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: I absolutly loved this book! The charactars are so vivid and it's very deeply moving. Novalee is a smart girl, but is down on her luck when she is left in a Wal Mart in Oklahoma by her boyfriend who got her pregnant at seventeen. She meets some great people who take care of her, and it shows you how generous people can be. Its a must read!

Summary: What a fun story!
Review: I thought this book was a fun, light-hearted read (even though the struggles Novalee faced were serious). It had that small-town appeal that drew me close to the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and finished it within hours of starting. I loaned it out to my mother, who doesn't enjoy reading books, and I begged her to read it!

Summary: Unreal Is Where It Is
Review: From the characters' ridiculous names to their one-dimensional and unbelievable behavior, this reading left me cold. Absolutely nothing in this sorry tale rang true. I cannot imagine how this book received such glowing reviews.
