Rating: Summary: Very Good Review: I thought that this book is a really good book to read because almost anyone can read it. This book really kept me interested and I really liked it. This book is good for people who likes to read books without a lot of action.
Rating: Summary: ~One of the best~ Review: I found this book not only realistic but helpful. Novalee is such a heroic character yet she faces many difficulties before she becomes an adult. Lexie Coup and her family touch me the most because her story of her and Roger Biscoe hits so close to home. I recommend this heart-warming story to everyone.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely wonderful! Review: Billie Letts has a talent for creating quirky and mostly lovable characters that complement each other. We would all be lucky to know the people who become Novalee Nation's "family" after she is abandonned, and gives birth, at a Wal-Mart. Each of the characters, in his or her own way, teaches Novalee valuable lessons about life, trust, friendship and love. While Novalee encounters many difficult hurdles in her life, the book is an enchanting and inspirational tale of someone becoming more than anyone could ever expect her to be. By the way, the movie, while it cuts out large chunks of the book, is still very good. If you've seen the movie, buy the book. If you read the book, don't be "afraid" to see the movie.

Rating: Summary: A Fun and Easy Read Review: If you are looking for a delightful read this book is for you. It holds interest without making the reader work hard to understand the plot. It provokes interest in its characters. You find yourself rooting for most of them. It has heart and provides some hope for humanity.
Rating: Summary: Great Read - Terrible Ending Review: I really enjoyed Where the Heart Is. I think that it would be a great book for high school senior English classes to read. I wanted to read it prior to viewing the movie so that I would really know what happened to Novalee Nation. I was intrigued by the thought of this seventeen year old girl having a baby in a Walmart. Unfortunately, the ending did not have as much depth as the previous chapters did. However, I would like to read a sequel to this work.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down! Review: I was engrossed in this novel for the past three days. I didn't want to put it down for fear of not being with Novalee for a few hours. This book made me rethink my life and my choices - especially about family and home. I am beginning to see that family isn't necessarily biological, and home isn't necessarily where I grew up. Novalee is a courageous beautiful woman. And I want a Forney of my very own! Needless to say, I don't think I'll be seeing the movie. I couldn't bear to have my opinion of this work marred in any way.
Rating: Summary: I was expecting more... Review: I got the book thinking it would be quite a read but I read the first chapter and was not impressed. I finished the book hoping it would get better as I read on but it never really did.
Rating: Summary: Novalee An Inspiration Review: Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts is a novel about a young pregnant girl named Novalee Nation. When her loser boyfriend dumps her at a Walmart in Sequoyah,Oklahoma, she enconters many interestion people and finds exactly where her heart is and belongs. I really enjoyed this novel but I lost interest in it half way through. I got busy with leaving my home for the first time in my life. I left for school and when I returned home in the spring I was lost and confused about my life. I picked up 'Where the Heart Is' hoping to find some clearity. I found Novalee very inspiring and I grew attatched to her. I realized that I am so lucky to be where I am and not have to deal with what she has to. This novel put my life into perspective and I realized what I had to do. I recomend this novel to anybody who is looking for clearity. Remember what you are blessed with and go from there!
Rating: Summary: Review Review: A pregnant 17-year-old gets abandoned at a Wal-mart. She gives birth while she lives in the Wal-mart and starts to turn her life around. Other bad things keep happening, but everything turns out for the best in the end. Where The Heart Is is very well-written, easy to understand, and fun to read. I'd recommend this book to any teenage girl, especially one in a difficult situation.
