Summary: Where the Heart Is
Review: Where the Heart Is, is one of the best books I have ever read. It was the first book I have read by Billie Letts, and now Billie Letts is one of my favorite authors. Everyone should read this book because it teaches one about the power of friendship, and family.

The book is about a journey of a young woman named Novalee Nation becoming a single mother, and her struggle in making friends and raising a family in Oklahoma.

My favorite quote in the book is "Feel right there." Her voice was soft, no more than a whisper. "That's where the heart is." From that quote in the very beginning I knew that I would not be able to put this book down, and I didn't. I finished it in three days! This book showed how a young woman had almost nothing at the beginning, and ended up being able to support herself, her family, and be happy in the process.

Although this was one of the best books I have read, I would not recommend it to everyone. If you like books that have action and adventure, it probably isn't for you. However, if you are a person who like suspense and "happy endings" this book is definitely for you.

Summary: Much better than the movie and the movie was pretty good
Review: I had seen the movie first and in spite of being familiar with the plot line I found this book surprising and fun. I like Novalee better in the book and I found Forney more quirky and interesting. I enjoyed reading it and I recommend it to my friends often.

Summary: A Great Book!
Review: Where The Heart Is, is simply one of the best books I have ever read. It is well written, fun, spunky, heart warming and an excellent page turner. When I picked up Where The Heart Is I couldn't put it down. I love that Novalee is put into a strange town where she knows no one and has no where to go. This plot/idea gives the book character, suspense and makes the reader question what will happen next. I also love that Novalee has a superstition with sevens, this really adds to the book. In all, I enjoyed the book and think everyone should read it at one point in their life.

Summary: This book needs more heart!
Review: The tragic tale of a young pregnant girl, left alone and penniless. Young Novalee Nation soon finds out what it meant to grow up in body, mind and soul.

It was pretty passionless and trivial, though you couldn't help but being a little drawn to Novalee and feeling almost proud of her. The writing was pretty simple and feeble minded, ,maybe this author's later works will have a little more depth. The book, was a little too sweetie for my taste- but if I was looking for a feel good book- this would be a good choice.

Summary: A book that made me want to write to the author herself.
Review: I can't begin to express words for my adoration of this novel. It made me think, feel, realize. I sat transfixed for a whole day, consumed by the characters, the plot, the way in which Mrs Letts lets us know how each event has come about. The way in which Willy Jack keeps appearing, and his continual, if yet, suppressed thoughts of Novalee their child. The manner in which Forney conducts himsself, unable to hide his love. The tragedy that bestows itself upom Lexie, and the friends that get her through it. I loved it all. I know that I loved this book, because immediately after came the tell-tale sign that confirms my obsession with it's story. I ran out, late at night, as broke as I am, and rented the movie. I'm placing it on a literary pedestal, for it is a piece of uniquely written fiction, that helped me see where home is.
