Rating: Summary: An absolutely wonderful book!! Review: The kind of book you want to read fast, so you can see what happens, but at the same time want to read slowly so that it doesen't end! A great book, and a wonderful achievement for Ms. Letts
Rating: Summary: Right up there with Fried Green Tomatoes and Cold Sassy Tree Review: One of the best novels I have read this past year. It's a must read for our book club.
Rating: Summary: Good but just a little cheesy Review: While I generally liked the book, I couldn't help but feel as if I were reading a cheesy, dime-store novel. The characters were interesting but somehow each one was like a cliche of typical Southerners. Every chapter some new disaster took place but somehow, Novalee is always able to overcome and wind up with her feet on the ground. While this may be inspiring, it is not wholly believable in the real world.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! I couldn't put it down... Review: It only took me 2 days to read this book. The story gets you from the beginning and it's hard to put down! Novalee has so much bad luck, you just want to cry for her, but she triumphs. It's wonderful how she makes a family and a life for herself and her child with the people she meets - and they are a diversified group! Billie Letts really shows how home is not where you live, but where you love.
Rating: Summary: This should have been a Wal-mart commercial. Review: This is a poor excuse for a novel. The characters are trite and one-dimensional, with not much to offer. I hope Oprah has better taste in interior design than she does in literature.
Rating: Summary: My new favorite "Southern" writer Review: I really enjoyed this book. Southern characters at their quirkiest and likable. Makes me wish I knew what happened to them next!
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: I started reading this book Sunday morning and couldn't put it down! I found it very enjoyable and easy to read. Loved all the characters, rather off-beat and fun!
Rating: Summary: Another annoying Ya-ya, but as touching as She's Come Undone Review: Seems like Oprah likes these tragic stories of people out there in the world who were viewed as no hopes but come out to the average American citizen in the end. Nothing different in this book, just more groteque and scary. More for Oprah's flexible readers.
Rating: Summary: Well Written "Where the Heart Is" Review: Thoroughly enjoyed reading this well-written novel by Billie Letts. I became a part of the story. Loved all the characters - even the ones that were originally not very nice. Have shared it with my whole family and all who have read it have adored it.
Rating: Summary: I loved this book and could not put it down Review: This book keep you wondering what was going to happen next. I really hated for it to end and I would love to read more of this authors books.
