Summary: $24.95? It's a Bargain!
Review: Very informative and easy to read book with an emphasis on creating CASH every month. Sure, some of the strategies may have been around for awhile, but Cook puts them in a language and writing style that I can understand. I have read a few option trading books but this book's best feature for me is it's emphasis on low risk option strategies such as covered call writing, protecting your capital, and generating a heap of cash. Sounded good to me, and I can make it work for me. I think that if you decide to follow some of these strategies in practice you need to agree on your objectives first.

You do notice that there are a few identical 1 star reviews that are posted against a number of Wade Cook books. Surely you 1 starrer's aren't out there just bad mouthing the guy without reading the book? No I definitely don't work for Cook, but am prepared to read any book where I can pick up a 5 grand return in the same week as when I read the chapter on covered calls. Not a bad return for $24.95! If I quit here I am still ahead. Sweet as, Wade!

Summary: More hype than hope! More sizzle than steak!
Review: As was the case with most market traders, I was intrigued by the glowing remarks (his own!) and promises of trouncing the market. Afterwards, I realized that (1) the book was at least 1/3 self-promotion and advertising; (2) the ideas that were thrown out (options, rolling stocks, etc)left the reader in dispair on how to accomplish the same remarkable returns that Mr. Cook had miraculously produced (no technical analysis); and (3)most people who read this book and get into the market for the first time will be seriously (financially) injured by following this advice.

Summary: Do the Maths!
Review: Wade Cook's strategies are not statistically sound (do some basic statistical probability research on his strategies) and in the long run will inevitably result in losses - potentially catastrophic. While there may be some (lucky) short term wins - these strategies are highly volatile and can be statistically proved to produce a loss over time. KEEP WELL CLEAR!

Summary: He's not cheap, but his strategies may be worth a look.
Review: At the absolute insistance of a friend of mine, I read this book. Being the ever skeptic that I am, I initially dimissed it as misleading nonsense. I have traded in the stock market for fourteen years following the advice of such notables as Warren Buffett and Peter Lynch. I firmly believe that a fool and his money are soon parted and to me Wade Cook appeared to be one of them. I believe his seminars and workshops are grossly overpriced. However, after reading this book last August, against my better judgment at the time, I attended one of his Wall Street workshops as he had them "on sale". I have always believed in buying stocks in solid companies and holding them so I couldn't bring myself to indulge in Wade's riskier strategies, at least not with real money for awhile. So I paper traded using his strategies and following his rules exactly and I liked what I was seeing and now have done real trades since January and my initial $20,000 I started with has grown to $31,600 by mid-March, mainly by writing covered calls and selling puts. This could be luck or coincidence, I'm not sure yet, in six months if I keep doing this well, I'm sure I'll upgrade my review. For anyone interested in trading in the market, I will recommend this book, however, whether you want to go on and pay his outrageous prices for workshops and other products, is up to you. I guess you could say I've got my tuition back in the form of my earnings gained using his strategies. If I had just read the book and figured out how to do this on my own, I would be even better off. I think most intelligent and informed investors could, too.

Summary: 30% return a month of your portofolio. Not bad at all.
Review: I have been hearing about Wade Cooks seminar for some time never though of attending one, and after reading his book, I still think that the seminar would be a waste of time and money, lots of it that is. However, the book is worth the $24.95 which I have paid for it. Does it advertize the seminar? You bet. Almost half of the book does that. But the chapters about the Cover Calls and Split Calls are realy good (for my portofolio they have been great). You can keet your long term portofolio, and sell Cover Calls on it and make monye, month after month. I made over 30% in profits on mine and that is only in one month. Not bad. Is Wade Cook a con artist? I don't give a damm if he is. His book is great,I am make lots of money using his methods, he deservs every penny of the $24.95 which I paid for his book. But I am not going to pay him $5000 for the seminar. No way.

Summary: I smell shills
Review: I came here to read reviews of this book, which I heard about on the radio, and was considering buying. After reading several obvious "advertisements" posing as reviews, I've come to the conclusion that this guy must be some sort of sleazy crook. They're not even clever enough to make them SOUND like real reviews.

Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!
Review: In order to keep living your boring old stagnation trapped lives and earning meager money from bosses who don't care about you or your's, Don't buy this book. Easily, the best book for daytraders in the marketplace. If anyone tells you that these strategies are risky, they are lying to you. Do yourself a favor and take a suggestion from a once bitten twice shy skeptic--Do some paper trades using wade's formulas. Simple to do!! Let wade prove to you that it really works!

Summary: To all the naysayers
Review: To all the naysayers about Wade's book, I have this to say...how many people out there writing books about the market use "original" ideas? Next to none. A covered call strategy has been around ever since options were introduced, as have straddles, spreads, butterflys, and other plays. Rolling stocks are just making trades within a trading range of support and resistance levels, which has been done for years. What makes this book any different? The language in which it is written. This book is written is concise, easy to understand verse that gets the point across. Yes, he does advertise his seminar and other products, but what self-respecting marketer wouldn't?

I will agree that people should not just read this book and jump into trades. Research should be done on any stock you plan to invest in, be it through options or a straight play. But using these techniques will give you some good ideas as to what to do once you have found a company you like.

All in all this is a very good introductory book into how to make money in the market, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in investing.

Summary: A Pathetic Excuse
Review: The only reason I give this book one star is because I couldn't give it zero. Wade "Crook" is the biggest shyster operating in America today. He is fleecing a lot of innocent people of lots of money. I guarantee you anyone rating this book more than 1 star is on his staff. You don't need to take my word, just do a web search on Cook. Check the BBB for complaints. Check with the attorneys general in Washington and Arizona. For years he has been in the business of seminar selling. First it was real estate, then stock markets. When we face a bear market, and you KNOW we will sooner or later, he will be into something else. If he is such a genius in the markets, why does he need to make a living selling worthless books and over-priced seminars ? Check all this out, do your homework. You'll find out what you need to know about Cook the "Crook". If I can keep you from wasting your money on any of his worthless products, I have done something good for someone today.

Summary: Educating and entertaining; but full of big promises!
Review: I am an experienced options trader. I have made 400% in 15 weeks (last year). I found Wade's book valuable, informative, and entertaining. BUT it is also pie in the sky. People who consistently earn above average returns don't spend their time writing and giving seminars - they end up managing their money. And the money of family and friends, either directly or indirectly. Commodity traders that consistently double money raise billions to manage in a few short years. Wade's techniques are good. His language is simple. The book is an enjoyable read. It is a real eye openner. But, read it with a few grains of salt and scepticism. He is selling the joys of risk taking to the average investor. His book explains in plain English what professionals already know. Can it help you improve your returns? Certainly. Can you lose more money? Probably.
