Summary: Super Cash Flow Strategies
Review: I opened my account with only $2,000 and after applying some of Wade's strategies, I was able to build that $2,000 into $15,000 in four months. On just one memorable play, I was able to turn $1,500 into $5,400 in just four days. Now I know that may not sound like much compared to the other powerful testimonials you have heard, but I was excited. I recommend to people that they start off with 2%-5% oftheir investment capitol. Do some paper trades first, always use limit orders and stop losses and thoroughlyresearch a stock before you invest. And as Wade says, "Don't get greedy" and "Know your exit" I've read the other reviews and can't believe that people are that negative. The real question you should ask yourselves is "Did I follow the strategies as Wade advises or did I improvise?" I believe that many, if not most "improvised". Finally, remember that there are no guarantees. On August 16th., HWP beat estimmates and was considered a"split candidate" and the stock was on a terror right up to earnings. The next day, it tanked over 6 3/4 points. I suspect that some future Wade Cook detracters played that one and will probablyblame Wade for their losses. Keep in mind, Wade Cook does not say that there is no risk, he says he can reduce the risk and that is about the best anybody can ask for. Good book. I obviously highlyrecommend it to anyone who wants to make money. HINT: Do read the whole book and follow his techniques exactly as suggested. Don't improvise. I also recommend Safety First Investing. Great Book.

Summary: You can't beleive Everything you read....
Review: I read this book at the insistant recommendation of a friend. I'm an ever skeptic, and dismissed it well before I even started reading it. However after reading it, and then reading it again just to make sure I read it right, I started using his strategies on the Virtual Stock Exchange on the web. To my surprise, it worked! Everytime I followed his formula, it worked. Everytime I varied it, it didn't. So I started using it in real life, about 2 months now, and wouldn't you know, same results. Granted, yes, his primary objective is to get you interested enough and "con" (if you wish to call it that) you into attending a workshop. But there is some good info in the book. I WOULD NOT recommend trading after you read the book. Don't be dumb, learn ALL YOU CAN before trading. Or maybe you should attend the workshop, I haven't. But my point is, many of these reviews have torn Wade and his strategies apart. Some even admitting in the review they've never read the book. So, I would just say, before you become to critical, read the book and try the strategies out in a virtual world, then if you wish to think he's a con artist, you think his strategies help only himself, if you think "warren buffet would have done this if it was safe" (incidently, Warren Buffet does use many of these strategies, these aren't all cook formulas) - in other words, if you've given Wade Cook a fair chance, THEN feel free to complain all you want, otherwise, shut up and "do to others as you would want done to you"! You wouldn't want to be torn apart from people who hadn't given you a chance would you? And remember FOLLOW THE FORMULA BEFORE YOU CRITIC!

Summary: Be Prepared to Dish Out More Money
Review: While it has some good basic examples, it is a book of hype to get you excited about his trading prinicipals. To fully learn his principals you would have to shell out more and more money, to buy more books, his services, lectures, etc. This is the Wade Cook Money Machine, not your way to make money on Wall Street. There are better books to learn about options.

Summary: Poorly written, overly commercialized, dangerous techniques!
Review: Wade's book was my first introduction to the covered calls concept, and I will always be grateful that he got me interested in options.

But otherwise, but this book is TERRIBLE! It's poorly written and includes dozens of nauseating commercials for his other books/tapes, seminars, etc.

It also focuses only on the positive trades and makes ridiculous profit claims. It includes ONLY examples or rare high profit, low risk trades, with NO discussion at all of risk and money management! It offers NO advice on how to handle a trade when the stock price declines!

I used this book to whet my appetite for options, and then got a really good education by Lawrence McMillian's book, Options as a Strategic Investment. It's technical, but it forces you to evaluate your trading plan under all possible outcomes. A new trader needs this thorough type of background before risking their own money.

Incidentally, I have never attended one of Wade's seminars, but managed to get on his list of prospects. I am constantly receiving mail from his company and have been pestered terribly by phone by his telemarketers. They called constantly trying to sell products and seminars, and didn't want to take no for an answer. It took me DAYS to get rid of the persistent, sleazy hucksters, who promised me everything but the moon! If they start calling you, just hang up fast!

Summary: Look before you leap!
Review: Want a successful formula for writing/ selling an investment book? Promise readers that they can make a lot of money with little work and retire in under a year. This is exactly what Wade Cook claims repeatedly in his book without backing up his claims with hard numbers. Beware!

I am a professional trader and I sell options as part of my investment activities. When you combine the potential for unlimited losses with leverage you are lighting matches in a fuel tank. Do not be lulled into thinking it's an easy, sure-fire way to make money. It takes a lot of time and experience. There are no shortcuts. If you take in $1.00 of premium and the stock drops $2.00, you've lost $1.00, period.

If you do insist on trying any of Wade's unoriginal strategies, do yourself a favor and either paper-trade or trade in very small quantites until you develop a feel for what's involved. This, by the way, is another thing Wade fails to suggest in his book.

Summary: AAApply what is here with COMMON SENSE and you will benefit.
Review: On the other hand, if you go nuts and get greedy or foolish, you will lose your shirt. This is a book for someone who is willing to CAREFULLY begin to trade rather aggressively in the stock market. If you are looking for the lottery, look elsewhere. Does it work everytime, all the time? absolutely not. Can you produce the returns indicated? Yes, I have, and have made enough money by reading a few of Cook's books and other, more in depth books to retire in a year or so God willing. I am 31 years old and have been using the strategies indicated for about a year and a half. I have actually had quite a few trades that have beaten even the highest % return claims in his books. The bottom line is that it is your money, if you dont watch it like a hawk, you will lose it. The negative reviews and the negative press are in my opinion, totally overblown. Idont think this is a scam at all. I dont know if I will ever take a seminar, but the book isworth the price of admission. Use it wisely, and dont whine if you lose money. It is your money, no one but you should be making decisions about it. I do not work for Wade Cook as some might assert. The naysayers here are very, very vocal, and it strikes me as curious, that sooooo many people want to "warn" people about Cook. I really belive it to be a combination of ignorance and malice. Try Wade Cook, if you are willing to do the work and be diligent to protect your capital. That includes more specific training from other sources. Good luck to all!

Summary: The most expensive book you will ever buy!!
Review: This is a perfect book that will rid you of all money worries. If you follow the hype the book is all about, at the end you wont have any money to worry about. There are supposedly success stories using this "new and incredible" strategies (BTW, there is nothing new in the book, except the hype) but people get lucky also in casinos and lottery. If you can't resist this book, do yourself a favor, before putting any money into market, read some other book, like the one by Dr. A. Elder, "Trading for a living", and you will see what the game is all about: discipline and money management. You won't find that in Cook's book.

Summary: please do not buy this book !- It is worthless
Review: I have had 15 years of experience trading options. I know almost every option strategy you can think of. Yes you can make money on options .BUT you have to know what you are doing, work hard and be willing to lose money. Mr. Wade makes it sound too easy! There should be a law prohibiting this!. How does he make his money? through the the very expensive misleading courses and audio tapes.! Do you really want to learn about options: buy "Options As A Strategic Investment" by Lawrence McMillan. This guy is a real prof not a money grapper!

Summary: OUTRAGEOUS RETURNS by following Wade Cook!
Review: I like to buy options on stock split companies as outlined in Wall Street Money Machine. Recently, I did this with INSP, SUNW, and NITE and had $2,000 days on each one. Would have been more, but I was conservative in investment capitol (as Wade Cook suggests, but naysayers always neglect to mention this) If you are playing options with more than 2%-5% of your risk capitol you are a fool! If you are playing options and NOT using stop losses and limit orders, then you are A BIGGER FOOL and you desperately need to read Thoroughly Wall Street Money Machine and I again need to emphasize THOROUGHLY! To the people that claim to have lost money, they really have not read Wade Cook's book and applied the strategies as Wade Cook recommends. Perhaps 5%-10% Wade Cook, diluted by their own version, but not Wade Cook. Unless of course they are reading books or attending seminars by someone else who purports to have the same strateges. Beware of imitators! They can be hazardous to your wealth!!

Summary: For Gamblers And Dreamers. Sad.
Review: First, a disclaimer: I have never read this book. however, I did watch the tape that advertises for Wade's products. This message is for those of you who are not compulsive gamblers and are simply looking for legitimate trading strategies. Don't walk, RUN away from Wade Cook and his methods. Not only are his methods bad, but you will absorb his psychology-- the psychology of market loser. Initiate a position to do a covered call? (a Wade Cook special) get real. Use a covered call to hedge an already establised positon maybe, but it is flat out dumb to initiate such a position simply to collect the premium. This position is called a synthetic put. Just sell a put and you will have the same thing. Better yet, stay away for options or play them just occasionally for recreation (just like a recreational gambler in a casino, or in the same spirit you would buy a lottery ticket).
