Summary: excellent book - everyone should read it!
Review: over the years i have read several books on anorexia and bulimia to try and figure out just how the mind of an eating disorder patient thinks. having an eating disorder myself, i wanted to know if i was crazy or if there was some correlation between my thought process and that of others. some of the books i've read seem to 'glamorize' the disease, some seem to give you new tricks to try yourself to keep you within your own hell, and still others don't quite paint the true picture all around. you seem to be left with a feeling that this person could recover, is recovering or may never recover. for those of us in the midst of an eating disorder, we wonder "will we ever fully recover? and is there life after an eating disorder?" with tracey's book, she was able to walk the reader thru her life far before the physical onset of the anorexia, explained her story without revealing additional ways to destruct oneself and end with her recovery. it's not an easy disease to recover from, and no one is truly free of the disease, but they learn to focus on other aspects of their lives that allow them to be free of the physical and emotional attibutes of anorexia and bulimia. my hope is that people of all walks of life - male and female - read this book. it gives hope to those stuggling at the moment that they too can recover, and it gives reassurance to those who have.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: This book is more than just Tracey Gold's battle with anorexia. It is also about her childhood and her life beyond her disease. It is sweet, sad, funny, and heart-breaking all at once. It's a short read that leaves you wanting more. It sets itself apart from other books dealing with anorexia and eating disorders in that it does not glorify the disease. The best part of the book is her recovery and how she realizes that, as a mother, she no longer can live for only herself and must learn to overcome anorexia to fully be present enough to nurture her children. Excellent read and very warm and conversational tone to the book!

Summary: good book easy reading
Review: This is a nice book. There are no secret cures, it is all done with a lot of hard work. The book is written simplistically , and is a very quick read. If you are looking for ways to make your self a better anorexic this is not going to do it, it was an effective book that showed there is a life outside of anorexia. The only complaint is that she was lucky and she did not have to deal with the insurance companies [this is not her fault of course}. I think that she is a role model for people who want to know that there is a life outside of anorexia.

Summary: ha. ha. ha.
Review: Umm. She writes like she is 5 years old, horrible errors in the book- it's like reading a novel some little kid wrote- but a bad novel. Her story is good. She is obviously not fully recovered like she claims, then again I don't think anyone can be fully recovered from an eating disorder. It is a very quick read and was definitly not worth my money- get it from the library if you really want to read it.
