Summary: This is a Great Book!
Review: I would reccomend the book, Otherwise Known as Shelia the Great! I started to read it but, it sounded boring. Then two months later I wanted to read something and I picked this book. I got to the fifth or sixth chapter and I kept going. We were on our way to Jamaica so I read the rest of the book! This book is funny, it can teach you, most of all it's good. Let me tell you about it. Shelia Tubman is an average kid going on vacation to Terrytown where her and her parents and sister will stay at a house for the whole summer. Shelia meets a freind who lives down the road from her name, Mouse Ellis. Shelia has to take swimming lessons and she dosen't want to because she thinks she'll drown. Well her mother and father make her take the classes. What will Shelia do? To find out read Otherwise Known as Shelia The Great!

Summary: The Best
Review: It's going to be hard for 10-year-old Sheila to sustain her"The Great" image as the Tubman family spends the summer inTarrytown and she must face two of her greatest fears -- dogs (their rental house insightfulness of her writing comes across in reader, too. Every bit of the warmth, humor and includes a beagle) and water (her parents are insisting on swimming lessons). Judy Blume has written numerous books in which she expresses the certainties and uncertainties of childhood and adolescence with wit, understanding and sympathy; this is one of her best. She's a talented her reading Landon L END

Summary: Cute, not only for ten-year-olds
Review: My baby sister got this book in her 10th birthday. If we wouldn't have to share a room together (along with other 4 sisters) I wouldn't know about it. Once when I was really bored I looked for something to read & I saw this book on her bed. I started reading &... I fell in love with it! Judy Blume wrote this sweet story in such a sweet language that will capture anyone. Shortly, buy it, no matter if you're 10 or 100.

Summary: Sheila the great review
Review: Ok, I was in the store a few months back just browsing. I came across the childrens section, and remembered a book I loved as a kid, Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing, by Judy Blume. So I was just curious to see if they still had it. To my surprise, not onlyt did they have that book, they had a whole section for Judy Blume. Then I remembered this book. I remembered being embarresed as a kid reading it because I thought it was a "girls" book. But let me tell you, this book is still great, even at the age of 31 I still enjoyed it!! In my opinion it is the best in the "Superfudge" series, anmd I would definitly recomend to any child, boy or girl. And BTW, I am no longer embarresed reading this book in public, even if it is on a bus or crowded train!!!

Review: Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great is a funny book! Sheila is funny anyway. Sheila is the kind of girl who thinks she knows everything, and never admits what she's scared of. She is scared of swimming, so her mom signed her up for swimming lessons. After she passes the swimming test, she admits what she's afraid of. If you want to find out the rest, read the book!

Summary: This is a perfect book to read over the summer.
Review: Sheila is a person who is very worried about how she is perceived by other people. She is unsure of herself, and when she doesn't know something, she tells white lies instead of just admitting it. When her family goes to upstate New York for the summer, Sheila is confronted with her fears of dogs and swimming, and in making new friends she must deal with her worries about herself. You may already be familliar with Sheila from the "Fudge" stories, but this book paints a more in depth, endearing picture of her. As always, Judy Blume uses humor to portray situations that might not be so funny were we in them ourselves.

Summary: pretty good
Review: The problem I have with this book, as well as all but two or three of Judy Blume's other books, is that the author expects the reader to know what is going on without actually saying what is going on. This is frustrating to a child Sheila's age who has no idea why Sheila keeps lying about not being able to swim and being afraid of dogs. I was afraid of dogs too and I would just tell people, "I'm afraid of dogs," so I never figured out why Sheila would lie and say she was allergic to them--until I grew up and met people like her who couldn't admit their faults. An okay book, fun in places (like the hide-and-seek game), just not excellent.

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: This book was hilarious! It's kind of cool that Judy Blume took an annoying character from her other books (see the Fudge series) and wrote a whole book around her. The spider on the ceiling part is really funny, and the slumber party was really cool, as well as the games the girls play. It's all too funny! One of Judy's best and a personal favorite of mine. Ya gotta love it. It's a great children's book, especially when dealing with fears that kids have. Sheila has such an ego! I hope girls don't want to emulate her.... But still, she is a great character.
