Summary: Funny, outrageous, wise, but a little too smug.
Review: Sheindlin's book appeals to women because it has that "you go, girl" mentality. Women should never allow themselves to be subjugated, says Sheindlin, and I agree with her point of view. What is irksome about this book is not its message, which women should take to heart, but the arrogant and condescending personality of the author. I have never watched her show and I do not intend to. However, her writing is a little hard to take. She wisecracks, makes corny puns and uses catch-phrases instead of writing in a direct manner. This is "dumb-downed" writing and I find it somewhat insulting. However, I do agree that women should take charge of their own destiny and stop blaming others for their mistakes. Although this book is a best-seller, I find that a little of Judge Judy goes a long way.

Summary: An Authentic Book
Review: I am not a regular viewer of Judge Judy's show. When I do watch it, I am drawn to her straightforwardness and common sense. When I read this book it seemed as if she was speaking straight to my heart. It was like a friendly chat with a someone who has seen it all. It's obvious that her experiences as a daughter, wife and working mother has informed her life and her work. The main idea of this book in a nutshell is to learn and live life to the best of your ability and enjoy the moment as nothing, good or bad, lasts forever.

Review: I borrowed this book from a friend, and I loved it! Judge Judy's book was a quick and easy read, but it was very informative. It was full of Judy's no-nonsense advice that I think that a lot of women (especially teenagers) should take heed of. Think of this book as the advice your mother should have given you. I also loved Judge Judy's funny stories about her life with her husband. This a book that every woman will enjoy reading.

Summary: Worth reading just for the laughs!!
Review: I LOVE JUDGE JUDY!!! I watch her show as often as I can and decided to take the time to read her book just to see what she had to say. Without a doubt, it was well worth the effort. Her common sense and no-nonsense approach to womanhood was refreshing and intelligent. I'm still telling friends about my favorite excerpts and can't do so without doubling over in laughter. I only wish that I could handle confrontation with as much finesse as she does. How ingenious! I love the way she is able to let people know they've stepped over the line by her actions and not necessarily her words. I'm certain it has more impact than people think. All in all, I say, you GO, girlfriend! Keep telling people how it is and maybe someday it will sink in.

Summary: Worth my time and money!
Review: I checked the tape out of the library and during a business road trip with two other women, listened to the tape and all agreed it was a great story. I plan to purchase the book for a thorough reading and share the book with my daughter. The story certainly made our trip a fun and worthwhile one.

Review: A wonderful, hilarious, honest book for all women to read. As a man, I did enjoy it very much, and I have never heard my wife laugh so much since our marriage. She made the comment, "I think all men should read this book, not that they will understand it." My hat is off to a wonderful woman as Judy Judy.
