Review: The Bourne Identity is one of the best books I have ever read,it brings you to the brink of your seat, it makes you sweat, your heart sometimes beat at a rapid rate and sometimes it slows almost to stop.

Review: If ever there was one who made me believe that Carlos was truly the legend the media made him out to be Ludlum was that person. So intrigued was I by this Character that I read David Yallops "To the ends of the earth", even when he was arrested I was somehow disappointed. I learned a great deal from this book as to the dealings in the financial world and to such things as contact lenses that I had never heard of when I first read the book. When I met Ludlum in 1993 I was amazed it was like meeting the Man up stairs!

Summary: This book is awesome!!
Review: This is a book about a man who has had amnesia. He has to get away from Carlos the Jackel before he is killed. It will sometimes get boring and you feel like you should skip a couple paragrpahs but any and every word is important. The information is referred to at the end of the book or in one of the two book that follows it. Anyone who gets there hands on this book should read it. It is non stop action and is a page turner. (The Bourne Supremacy and the Bourne Ultimatum are awesomwe as well.)

Summary: To anyone who's ever dreamed of being a spy.....
Review: Am I the only Bourne Fan who read in the news recently of the terrorist Carlos the Jackal (a "fictional" main character in this book) being convicted of crimes described in this book and sentenced to prison? (12-97). It blew my mind to realize that this incredible read was inspired by a real news story. I just finished reading it for the second time in 15 years and still couldn't put it down! I enjoy reading Cussler & Clancy but this has it all! Even a love story! I found it fascinating to learn how Swiss bank accounts work, how to change your identity, etc. The suspense was gut wrenching all the way to the last pages. I strongly encourage other women with a spirit of adventure to read this! Yeah, it's not just for you macho guys! (Smile...)

Review: Ludlum's celebrated "The Bourne Identity" is really nothing more than a modern day reworking of A.Dumas'"The Count of Monte Cristo"(a "10" in any translation)...the story of revenge and repressed identity has a thrilling Mediterranean opening,.. before Ludlum widens the scope of the novel across the face of Europe...the sheer sweep of the book is almost irresistible, and places it at the forefront of like genre thrillers;as a prose stylist,though, Ludlum is no Ambler or Greene.If you want to sample his work-this is the place to start....but just about any Frederick Forsyth novel of international intrigue will be better written and more accurate technically.

Summary: By all means, READ THIS BOOK!
Review: I only dock it down to an 8 because it can be hard to follow at times. This is by no means a "light read" - this is what you read if you want to spend some free time being the James Bond From Hell, In Hell. Actually, Bourne is better than Bond - more believable. Far more. And more complex. You will get sucked in, you will have trouble putting this book down, and you will learn how to do some of the shadier things in life - like hide in plain sight.
If you get stuck somewhere in the book, don't worry - just take a deep breath (you've probably been holding your breath, waiting for what happens next), and re-read the paragraph or page that lost you.
Once you've finished the book, give it some time to sink in, then read it again - you'll find something new you missed last time.

Summary: Adventure with education
Review: After hearing about this book for all these years, I figured what the heck, and I got a used copy to read on a long flight. I wasn't really expecting much. I thought it would be like a John Grisham novel. BOY, WAS I WRONG. Not only is the action and characterization amazing, but the information you pick up is absolutely fascinating. I kept looking for an excuse to put this long book down, but I couldn't find one. I'd read a chapter and I'd learn how Swiss bank accounts work. I'd say, "That was cool, but I bet the next chapter won't have anything as neat as that." Then I'd read the next chapter, and I'd learn how to *really* impersonate someone, and I'd say, "That was cool, but I bet the next chapter won't have anything as neat as that." But it did. And so on and so on. You find out about so many really interesting things. It's a novel and an education
