Rating: Summary: Easy Reader Review: This one is a page turner. It's not one of her best, but it's certainly very good. If it takes more than two days to read it, you've got something else on your mind.
Rating: Summary: You'll want to lock your doors... Review: I just finished this extremely fast-paced thriller and am almost breathless. I didn't realize how detailed the witness protection program was and MHC reveals that one little slip-up can jeopardize everything, even your life. I swear I read half the book in one night...and reading it at night adds to the thrill of the mystery. You'll want to lock all your doors. Clark obviously doesn't want you to trust anyone in "Pretend," and once again, with all her ingenious twists and turns, you'll find yourself guessing till the end "whodunit."
Rating: Summary: Seeing through the eyes of Lacey Review: MHC makes us experience through the mind's eye the hardship of someone who is running away and hiding from a stalker determined to eliminate. Strength, wit and determination are needed in order to survive the ordeal. It makes you feel bad for the people who constantly live in fear. This is an exciting read - and I simply had a hard time putting it down
Rating: Summary: a major disappointment from MHC-can't believe she wrote it! Review: Almost as bad as her daughter Carol Higgins Clark's books - could CHC have written this drivel
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This book was great! I just started reading her books and am glad she has so many for me to read. I have a lot of catching up to do!! Buy this book, you'll love it
Rating: Summary: A typical Clark formulaic page-turner Review:
Mary Higgins Clark, for reasons unknown to me, is an addiction that's impossible to break. You KNOW, when you pick up her latest book, that it will follow this formula: Girl finds herself in jeopardy; Girl takes flight and meets Boy (or is he the Murderer?); Girl wins in the end. No matter; Clark's books are entertaining and impossible to set aside until the last page is turned. This one is no different. If you're a Clark fan, you'll certainly enjoy it. If you're new to Clark, watch out! You may find that you, too, have become addicted.
Rating: Summary: Better than her other recent books... Review: Pretend You Don't See Her was like returning to earlier Mary Higgins Clark books. She seems to have gotten more substance in this book--similar to The Cradle Will Fall or Where Are the Children. I am an avid Mary Higgins Clark fan and usually buy her books as soon as they hit the stand. This book made me glad I did. It had suspense, romance, unique plot, and some neat twists (although some were predicatable). Thanks for getting back to a "not-so-lightweight" mystery
Rating: Summary: Not her best - but still a good read Review: Pretend you don't see her has M.H.C. written all over it (not just on the cover). It is fast-paced, attention grabbing from the start, and filled with interesting and questionable characters. However, I usually have a bit more trouble figuring out the "bad guy." I thought this book was far more predictable than previous books, with a plot that almost slowed down too soon before ending. I personally think that M.H.C. is putting out her books too fast lately. I think she needs to take more time and think through every little mysterious detail. Then give us classics like 'Loves Music, Loves to Dance'...it would be worth the wait.
Rating: Summary: Queen fails to satisfy her subjects... Review: Mary Higgins Clark has always been a favorite
not only of myself but also of my fellow mystery readers.Pretend You Don't See Her however fell short of my expectations.Mary
Higgins Clark's superb writing skills in the
world of mystery is undisputed! However I think
she'll find that her true fans are willing to
be patient if it means reading a wonderful story in the style that first made us love
the "Queen of Mystery"
Rating: Summary: Another MHC great! Review: This is just another in a long line of great suspense novels by MHC. I was on the edge of my seat half the time, flipping pages, getting breathless, as if I was running with her. One thing that is mindboggling to me is how freely information was given out on Lacey by well-meaning people. Makes you wonder if this type of information is given that freely in real life....just call me paranoid, but after I read her books, usually something strikes me like that which makes me wonder if it could happen for real. To me, this makes for a believable fiction author
