Summary: Loves Music, Loves to DAnce
Review: I thought this book was really compelling and it kept me reading to the end. When reading the book, you kind of get a sense of who might be the killer, but the real killer is suprising at the end. I think Darcy is a true friend to Erin, since she risked her life to find her killer; by dating guys who place personal ads. At the end I am glad that Darcy realizes that the person that she thinks is her friend is really the killer, even though she had no way of escaping death with the killer; but eventually was saved with the help of the police

Summary: Full of Suspence but Quite Predictable
Review: Everybody knows that what makes a good mystery novel is its unpredictable ending. Loves Music, Loves to Dance does not meet this standard. The story line is great, characters intimately developed, but it lacked in unpredictability. Clark, a "master of mystery" poorly hid the culprit, leaving me very disatisfied in the end. This one could have been good, but Clark missed the target.

Summary: Loves Music, Loves to Dance
Review: The novel Loves Music, Loves to Dance was a very well written mystery novel. The characters were developed and I had to keep guessing until the very end of the novel. The man who I thought was the murderer turned out to be innocent and a person I did not suspect turned out to the be real killer. The novel was hard to put down after I started to read it and I wanted to find out what happened next.

Summary: Loves reading, Loves Mysteries
Review: The book kept me guessing until the end. When you think it is obvious who commited the crime, another suspect seems to have done it. And in the end when you know the identity of Charley you cannot put the book down until you have reached the last page, it keeps you reading faster and faster. Involving you in the book until you start becoming a part of it.

Summary: Disappointing read overall
Review: Unfortunately, although I enjoy a good mystery/suspense novel as much as the next person, this one particular piece was not a good example. Not more than 30 pages in, I could have written the ending myself. I admit I figure out most so-called mysteries and suspense works before the ending comes - not many truly surprising novels out there these days...but this one was of no better caliber than a 'Harlequin Intrigue' insomuch as it shared a similar simplistic style of writing, was painfully predictable and did not have anything approaching solid character development. Overall, a piece of insubstantial fluff best left to newcomers to this genre of fiction who don't wish to be overly challenged.

Summary: Lives of the Rich and Beautiful
Review: A serial killer is on the loose, preying on young, pretty women he meets through personal ads, but New Yorkers are still more concerned with what they're going to wear to lunch on Tuesday! Go figure. "Loves Music, Loves to Dance" provides a great examination of WASPy New Yorkers. Every "good guy" character in the book is described as stunningly attractive and successful. These people spend their time eating in posh restaurants and discussing interior design, jewelry, and designer clothes (because this is a world in which even heterosexual men are mad for designer bags - although I have a hard time imagining it). Although Mary Higgins Clark tends to gush about her characters, causing the reader to roll his/her eyes, all this talk about shoes and decorating schemes helps to pull you into the materialistic world of successful young New Yorkers.

This novel is supposed to be a suspense novel, but compared to other MHC novels I thought suspense was lacking. Halfway through the book the identity of the killer is obvious. I won't spoil the ending, but let me say that if you do the math you'll know who's guilty. However, I still enjoyed cheering on our heroine, Darcy Scott, as she hunts for the psycho who murdered her best friend. "Loves Music" is a quick read and an enjoyable page-turner.

Summary: Only good for a quick beach read
Review: I was expecting a lot more from this book, since it had come highly recommended. But, I thought it was barely worth finishing. She introduced way too many characters too quickly, without fully characterizing any of them. All of the men were the same - attractive and distinguished, blah, blah, blah. Her attempts to create suspense were hollow. Plus, the edition that I read had such bad editing that one of the minor characters had a different last name half way down the page from where she was introduced. Overall, it was a good filler book, but I'm certainly not going to read any more of her work.

Summary: Awful isn't the word
Review: I do not why I picked this book. Well, maybe I thought that just like the other MHC's this one would also eb excellent, only to find myself struggling with this so-called thriller and ultimately giving it up. This book has none of the amazing mystery of "Remember Me" or "A Stranger is Watching". Neither does it possess any of the nail-biting suspense of "Where are the Children" and "The Cradle Will Fall". Sometimes I wonder if it was really Ms. Clark who wrote this book. All about shoes, and a killer and lots of dancing make this 304 page book not a worth read at all!
