Summary: Best reading when you can't understand destructive patterns
Review: It has been a life saviour. I could not pin point what the problems were in my relationship until I read this book. The book is a master piece, clear and precise.

Summary: The mysteries of the mysogynist explained...
Review: Like all of Susan Forwards books this one is very complete and helpful. I think this should be a must read for all women.
Most importantly Susan will explore what the "double blame" means. Men behave badly and the woman apoligises for it--just to shut him up. I found this one in my local library. She clearly explains why these women haters think like they do and what to do if you are in a relationship with one. The couples she writes about from the onset of their relationship to the end make the reading interesting and sometimes realistically painful.

Summary: there's another name for this
Review: Misogynists--men who hate women--have borderline personality disorder. Dr. Forward doesn't mention this but a great deal has been written about men (and women) with borderline personality disorder since this book was first published. For those of you who have been helped by this book, I recommend that you also read books about BPD because it describes these men perfectly. Men who grew up hating their mothers and had ugly, confrontational relationships with them have BPD and uncontrollable, irrational anger. So do most men (and women) who were sexually and physically abused as children. This explains the hatred these men have for all women, especially their wives. They CAN be helped but it takes effort on THEIR part.

Summary: Must Reading !
Review: My therapist recommended this book for help in understandiing my relationship with my husband, which has been a love/hate relationship for 17 years. This book is changing my life! It details many traits of "women haters" that were before my eyes the whole time, but I failed to see. A "must read" for anyone in a difficult relationship with a controlling partner!

Summary: All Women Must Read This Book ASAP!
Review: Since I run a major website about psychopathy and have read all the *standard* fare about psychopaths, I thought books like this one here were silly, like the "Men Are From Mars..." genre. Little did I know. Dr. Black, a reknowned expert on psychopaths, has said that this book reminds him of women who are actually in love with psychopaths, not just misogynists. All women MUST read this book, and I wish they taught us girls to read this when we were still in school because it could have SAVED a lot of us and PREVENTED a lot of us from making mistakes! Sad to say, every 3 out of 10 men is psychopathic, which is probably why these types of book were written, for women who tend to run into the same "3" every time! Ladies, make the investment and buy the paperback copy, there is no excuse not to. Also, check out other books about psychopathy as well. For women who would rather send men to Mars than deal with anymore crap, READ this book and then follow up on more literature about psychopathy like "The Emptied Soul" and Dr. Hare's classic "Without Conscience..." It could explain a lot why MANY men are just SO *bad* and there is no rational explanation for them being that way except a PERSONALITY DISORDER.

Summary: THIS BOOK SAVED MY LIFE.
Review: That about sums it up. Get it if you even think you *might* need it.

Summary: May have saved my life
Review: This book gave me the clarity and strength to stay out of a horrifically abusive marriage. Had I not read this, and also "Christian Men Who Hate Women," I might have gone back to my misogynistic husband. It hit me like a bolt of lightning between the eyes--finally I saw that I was never the problem, and that "forgiving" him one more time and "trusting God" and crawling back would solve nothing! In my case, the abuse and misogyny were hidden behind a facade of religiosity which was nothing but a cover for my husband's lunacy. He made me feel guilty for not being a "submissive wife" and pulled the Bible on me a lot (like other men might pull a gun on their wives and with as much malice), but this book made me see that there was no difference between my husband and rank heathen who rip their wives apart with barrages of four-letter words. His heart and intent was the same, and the results were the same--the wholesale evisceration of myself as an individual soul, personality, and essence.

I can't thank Susan Forward enough for explaining to me, in a way that I could understand, how my husband could be so wonderful one hour and so vicious the next, and that even though he claimed that he would be wonderful all the time if I would just change and be what he wanted, that was a load of crock.

I now know that my husband had every one of the warning signs that he was about to cross over into physical violence--signs such as irrational jealousy of other men and "locking me down" to prevent me from going anywhere, and that I got out in the nick of time to save myself and my children. This book whetted my appetite for more books on domestic violence which shed even more life on my hellish marriage and my need for a divorce.

Highly recommended

Summary: Required reading for anyone, any gender, dealing with people
Review: This book gives a realistic view of how abusive relationships ensnare normal, healthy people and how to recognise if you are involved in one. Written for women, this applies to anyone. Abusive family member, boss, or partner; the lessons imparted allow the reader to compare and evaluate, to determine whether their relationship is undermining their sense of self
