Summary: Silent Night
Review: This book is about a little boy named Brian Dornan. He goes on an adventure chasing after this women who stole his mother's wallet. It turns out that he goes into her house and gets into a lot of trouble. Cally Hunter, the women who stole the wallet, has a brother named Jimmy Siddons who escaped from jail and is loose. He is at his sister's house, waiting for her. When she finally arives, Cally was shocked to see him. She didn't know that Brian was following her. When Jimmy heard something outside of the door, he opened it and saw little Brian. That's how Brian was in big trouble. Brian thought that Jimmy was a good guy, so he told him that Cally took his mother wallet. Jimmy searched Cally and found it. Jimmy made a grin and Brian knew that Jimmy was not going to help him. All Brian wanted from that wallet was the St. Christopher medal that his grandmother gave to make his father well. When Jimmy pulled it out, Brian snatched took hold of it. Brian was Jimmy's hostage and he would kill Brian if the police heard about him and the boy. Jimmy wanted to go to Canada to escape. Brian was on a big, scary adventure riding in a car with a crazed man.
I liked this book because it had a lot of mysterious things in it. It's very exciting to read books that get the reader's attention early. At first, I thought that this book was going to be boring and not fun to read. After I read a couple of pages, I wanted to stick with it. I was really excited about what was going to happen on the other pages. It's one of those books that you don't want to put down.
My favorite part of the book was when Brian was with Jimmy Siddons in the car. Brian was really scared and he didn't know what to do. He was hoping that he wouldnb't get killed by Jimmy and that he wished he was with his family right now and seeing his father in the hospital. He wanted to give the medal to his father now to make him better before Christmas...

Summary: Heartwarming...and one for the ages
Review: I have to say that Mary Higgins Clark ranks up there as one of my favorite authors. While this is not one of her best because it does not have all the twists and turns her other books have hence the four stars)this book really brought tears to my eyes. A young child on Chritmas Eve trying to save the one thing that can help his father out...and how brave he was in the face of danger.
I don't want to say anymore so I don't give away the plot...but this one is well worth reading. It's short and sweet...and a great book to really say that miracles can happen.

Summary: Sleep In Heavenly Peace
Review: Mary Higgins Clark has a countless number of excellently written books, and this one is just another addition to her wonderful collection. In SILENT NIGHT, Clark writes another super Christmas time thriller.

With her husband stricken with Leukemia, Catherine Dornan is about to take her two boys, Michael and Brian, to the hospital to present him with a very special gift. While out on the streets, Catherine accidentally drops her wallet with this special gift, a St. Christopher medal, and Brian chases after the woman, Cally, who picks it up. From there, the novel really takes off as Brian is eventually kidnapped and held captive by an escaped prisoner on a race to the Canadian border in the midst of a heavy snowstorm.

In this ferociously fast-paced story, Clark manages to mesh together an outstanding cast of diverse characters, all of whom tie in to the search for Brian. The well-developed plot is constantly changing, leaving the reader in a pleasant, rapid page-turning frenzy.

Overall, this is a very well-written book that is hard to put down. Clark is an amazing storyteller, and her imagery and detailed writing make for an enjoyable read. The suspense will have you on the edge of your seat, as this is not a calm and silent night.

Summary: The book that caught my attention
Review: Well I read this book for my High School english class because we had to pick a book. Like most teenagers, we don't like to even look at a book. This book was diffrenet to me, any book that captures my attention is a great book. From the beginning of the book I could not put it down. I just kept on reading and reading, and the story progressed very well. The book was about the Dornan family which was having the worst time of their life on Christmas. One was Tim, the husband of Catherine and father to Michael and Bryan, who was in the hospital undergoing an operation for his Leukemia. Then later on in the book Bryan ends up being kidnapped by an escaped personer. This book i would really think teenagers to older people should read.

Summary: Silent Night
Review: This book, set during Christmas time, will have you crying tears, it's so heart wrenching. I didn't particularly like this short novel because it introduced too many characters, in too little pages. This short novel was suspenseful, but overflowing with too many different themes. Catherine Dornan and her two sons, Michael, ten, and Brian, seven, are staying in New York for the Christmastime since her husband, Tom Dornan, was diagnosed with leukemia and they wanted to give him the best hospital treatment. However, on their way to visit him, Catherine dropped her wallet and Cally Siddons picked it up impulsively. Brian saw this, and although his mom couldn't hear him through people singing Silent Night, he instinctively followed Cally home. But when Cally arrived home, she was only to find her escaped convict brother, Jimmy Siddons, to be waiting for her, expecting money. When Brian mentioned the wallet, Jimmy took both, the wallet and the little boy. Soon to be a rough ride to the Canadian border, Catherine had the whole New York state looking for her little boy. The outcome of this short novel is heart warming.

Summary: A mother's worst ngihtmare
Review: Catherine Dornan's husband has been diagnosed with leukemia. Catherine and her two sons' accompany her husband to New York. They are there for a life-saving operation that needs to be done. While Catherine is trying to distract the boys from the thought of their father, she takes them out to look at the lights and other decorations around. While in front of Saks, they are watching a fiddler; Catherine gives the two boys a dollar. She then tells them to place the dollar in the hat of the fiddler. Catherine begins to put away the wallet, but it falls through the purse. Brian the youngest son sees a skinny lady pick it up. Trying to get his mother's attention and not succeeding. Brian goes after the women, because the momento his grandma said to give his father, to make him better, was inside the wallet. Brian follows the lady through subways, and to an apartment building that is disgusting. Meanwhile Brian's mother sits in a police car trying to look for him. This is a great story, with a great plot. I would recommend this book to a reader that likes suspense. Also someone with kids who could feel exactly what Catherine would be feeling.

Summary: Not as good as I expected
Review: A father diagnosed with cancer, a mother lost in grief, a little lost looking for hope, and a mad man who cares for no one but him self: that's how this book starts off. It's Christmas time and The Dornans are in New York getting treatment for their father, when tragedy strikes; the medal that is supposed to bring him luck is stolen. There is only one witness to this crime, little Christopher Dornan, and he runs after the thief. What will happen? Read this book and find out. This was not the best book that I have ever read. It was kind of slow to get started and to me it never really picked up. To me the character of Cally is not very deep and I like characters to have depth. Read this book to get your own options.

Summary: Can't Believe I Waited Til Now to Read it!
Review: Silent Night was a very good book. I cant believe i waited until now to read it. It starts off with Catherine Dornan, the main character, on her way to take her children to visit their dad in the hospital, who has been diagnosed with leukemia. On the way there they stop off in Rockefeller Center to look at the big Christmas Tree! While the three are standing around the tree listening to carolers Brian, Catherine's youngest son, sees his mother's wallet fall out of her purse. As he leans down to pick it up a hand reaches down and grabs the wallet before he could say anything. Brian starts to tell his mom but he doesnt want the lady to get away so he takes off after her not thinking about what harm could come to him. As Brian is turning corners in the cold dark night, little does he know what he is about to be faced with. Brian Dornan comes in contact with so many life threatening situations and he doesnt know he will even survive. The only thing he knows is that the St. Christopher Medal that is in the wallet saved his grandfather's life and he truly believes that it will save his own father's too. This book was unusually good. Mary Higgins Clark has her own way of writing that turns words into teriffic storys. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes suspense and I guarantee you won't want to put it down!
