Summary: Hot Zone
Review: In the novel Hot Zone, by Richard Preston, a deadly agent is discussed. This agent is known as Ebola. Ebola is a deadly virus that is unstoppable and will demolish anything and everything in its way. It has been known to destroy mankind. When it breaks out in a research lab near the Nations Capital, a biohazard team from the Untied States Army must slyly sterilize the whole building. Charles Monet is a tourist in Africa when he breaks out with the virus. Throughout the book, the author focuses on Monet's illness, but becomes baffled when traces lead to monkeys.
The book teaches about a few diseases and where they might be lurking. Hot Zone shows what can happen to you if you get into one of these situations. The book is intriguing and horrifying because it has a very descriptive setting. You will never know what is going to happen next, which will make you never want to put Preston's novel down.
This book would be recommended to age groups who are mature enough to understand the importance of the subject. It also would be recommended to anyone who likes descriptive writings or who is interested in learning about diseases, but you will need to have a strong stomach.

Review: The novel The Hot Zone is a true story about the Ebola virus. People in Africa start coming down with a very threatening unknown virus. Doctors cant figure out what it is and people are dieing. This disease soon finds its way to Washington D.C., and they have figured out that it is Ebola. The main characters Nancy Jaxx and Peter Jaxx, they lead the operation and mission to stop the virus. They must find where it is coming from and how to stop it, because it kills nine out of ten people that it encounters, and there is no cure for the virus.I found this novel very intriguing. It was educational on the subject, and had some action scenes, which kept the novel alive, because some parts could get a little dull. The Novel stayed alive, on how it went into great depth to explain how they managed to fight Ebola, and to contain it. At these points in the novel became very exciting, and very interesting, because it is telling a nonfiction story. If you like bio hazards this is a must read book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in science/biology. I think they would like this novel very much. I wouldn't really recommend it to someone who is not interested in Science/biology. I don't think that I would recommend it to anyone younger than I ( 15 ), for I don't think that they would follow along with the novel at times, or be interested but other wise I would recommend it to someone.

Summary: A Review on The Hot Zone
Review: In the novel, The Hot Zone by Richard Preston, there are many different characteristics. This book is realistic, suspenseful, and graphic. It stays on the same basic subject, which is the Ebola virus. The Ebola virus is basically the main character in this book. It's great that the lead character is not human, but is actually a virus.
The beginning starts off a little slow, but the whole book is a little slow. it talks about the first man who contracted Marburg, a filovirus, in Africa. He contracted this disease, probably, from a cave called Kitum Cave. One day he and his lady friend went there to camp. A couple of days later he started getting a fever and headaches. Soon he was vomiting up blood with black matter in it, bleeding out of every part of his body, and finally he just died. The writer had to have noticed that the chapter started off very slow so he ended it with graphic details of the death of the character with Marburg.
In the middle of the book, it skips from story to story about different characters in the book, but they're all connected in some way. He, Preston, did this so the reader would be less confused about who is connected to who because everyone is connected to someone else so you don't have to worry about it. The book travels from the U.S. to Zaire talking about mini-outbreaks. Preston describes the symptoms of the Ebola virus on both monkeys and humans with a lot of graphic details. I'm not so sure if this is a good thing, but the reader is able to create a picture in their mind with these detailed descriptions.
This is a very original book. And throughout it, Preston takes the reader from one side of the world to the other, chasing a very dangerous virus. He shows these heroic and curious people who put their own lives on the line to make sure that other people do not contract the virus from infected people. This book is based on the real struggle of trying to find out where the Ebola virus came from and how to stop it. So if you live in the real world, you might want to read this real story about a murderous virus.

Summary: Gripping Story
Review: Remind me never to go to Africa. The author details what has got to be the worst decease out there - Ebola. The book starts out describing an outbreak in Africa and what the decease does to the human body. This was the most engrossing and fast moving part of the book. He really does a wonderful (if you can use that word in this case) of describing what happens to you once you get this bug and the massive fear an outbreak causes. The author then tells us about a similar outbreak that took place in the U.S. at a test facility on monkeys and then goes on to talk about what would happen if this broke out in the U.S. Overall just a great, fast paced read. The author does a super job in explaining the somewhat complicated medical causes and symptoms of this decease. My concern in picking up the book would be that it would be written for a Ph.D. but it is not, everybody can understand what is happening and why. You will be glad you read this book.

Summary: A deeply engrossing, disturbing book...
Review: This superbly readable books details an outbreak of Ebola which occurred in the suburbs of Washington DC in 1989/1990. Additionally, the book recounts the history of diseases and its previous occurences. While this book is enjoyable and a very quick read, it is hard not to come away from the book somewhat frightened. We would be in serious trouble if this disease ever made a serious burn throughout the population.

Summary: my hot zone reveiw
Review: I though this was an excellent book because of its superb qualities. I felt this book was in interesting and very catching to the reader. It had couple of parts that were rather gory or gruesome but al in all I t realize thought that were necessary in order to make the reader the realties of this virus and that it is a very serious problem and one day will need to van confronted. Slowly this disease is making its way up the seaboard and one day it could make its way to America. I feel that all these gruesome scenes were for the readers benefit and that really got the point through that this disease is slowly but eventually making its way up the continent of Africa and one day could flow into America. And if a disease such as this was to come to America it would cause great devastation and I would estimate that millions would die. Other than the usual nonsense this was a excellent and well layer out book I thought some places here and there could have been better but it was very good and had many good catch phrase. I thought that overall this was a very good book and exiting in many different ways. I liked the many good and well documented realities of the book but if your one of those people that always worries they have a disease this is not a book for you. Although this book was good it was far from the best book I ever read. I thought that this book highlighted many god key points in our world today.

Review: The Hot Zone Ebola. A scary thought? Well, if it isn't it should be. These words were brought ht to life in a fabulous book. A New York Times Best Seller at its debut The Hot Zone, by Richard Preston, provides a view of Ebola, whether that view is good or bad.
The Ebola virus can be any where, but it only comes from one place. During the nine-teen seventies Ebola was starting to bud in the rainforest near Mt. Elgon, Kenya. Ebola is based somewhere in the rainforests of Africa. One day the virus will come out, leaving problems for every one involved with it. The Hot Zone also follows some of the out breaks of the Ebola virus over a span of twenty years. This book shows prime examples of the virus spreading through and diminishing populations. It also makes you scared of the disease and maybe kind of grossed out by it, because of the vivid descriptions. The Ebola virus is from Africa and causes many problems to life on earth.
The virus hurts people, but it also causes questions from the people surrounding it. Though there are few experiences with Ebola the people that lived through them are specialist trained for the situations. People that dealt with the disease were trained for working in space type suits and knew the consequences if something went wrong. The characters are actually real people, and I couldn't imagine going through what they did. Further more Ebola is a dangerous thing that will never go away. I would suggest never get the disease. Even though the book sounds odd it is a good book idea to read, so you know what the virus is. The book is also written well and that makes it more interesting. Ebola is bad, but reading the book is good, it cause more knowledge on the subject spread around.
The Hot Zone, involving Ebola and the lives of people close to it, is an interesting book. It causes you to think more about Ebola and gives you more than enough back round information about the disease. So I recommended this book to anyone who would like further Knowledge on the subject. I also suggest that readers have a good stomach for some very intense descriptions.

Review: I found the hot zone interesting. It scary to think that something that lethal comes from nature. I dont uderstand why anyone would want to work in a place with viruses that have no cure. I liked the book, because it kept your interest to see what was going to happen next. At first the book was real intense, but then it started repeating itself(in the middle) then when it reached the USA it scared me to think that anyone could spread the virus without any sign. I dont understand why the monkeys werent checked before coming to the USA. I think this book would be good for other students to read. If mother nature is upset with us just think what she can do. I wanted to visit Africa before I read the book, now I dont. Makes you think how lucky we are not to have these in our country. The scary thing is the virus seems to change. I really injoyed the book.

Review: The Hot Zone is based on a true story. The book describes the quest of many to stop or at least slow down a level four virus. The virus, if not stopped, would have wiped out Washington, DC. Within a matter of weeks. The world itself, within a month. Join me on reviewing this catastrophe, The Hot Zone. The Hot Zone is a good book, anybody who is interested in science or virus should read it. It takes allot to make a good book; The Hot Zone has it all. For instance, there is allot of suspense through out the book, With dieing monkeys and infected people you never really know what to expect. The Hot Zone is a real seat edger. Equally important, is the type of person that would read this book. You have to have a strong stomach and a good imagination, not to mention a love for science. This book is definitely recommended to the non-fiction reader. A good book always has a good character and a favorite part of the book! What's a gook Book without a favorite part and a favorite character? For this reason, Nancy Jaxx is my favorite. She is the strongest most daring and the bravest character, coming from my point of view. Women like her make history for saving the lives of many. Like wise, there's always a favorite part. My favorite part was when the author vividly described Charles Monet's Bleed out. You can tell the author has a very imaginative outlook. You relate better to a book when you have a character that you can best compare to yourself or have a favorite part you can compare to something you have done. Overall, The Hot Zone was a satisfying tid bit I'll add to my collection. Through Blood and gore and favorite parts, this book is worth a try.
