Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Dizzying Review: This book was only a page-turner because I was so anxious for the torture to end. First of all, Diz's personal problems were very distracting and didn't lend much to the overall feel of the story or the characters, much less to the actual plot. Second, Jennifer is a distinctly unsympathetic main character; she remains cold and aloof throughout the novel, which left me befuddled at Diz's obsession. Besides, whether she is innocent or not, she is still entitled to a defense. The truth, quite frankly, is beside the point, as any criminal defense attorney will tell you. As for the "13th juror," talk about last minute. Diz should get disbarred for letting the mess get that far. Finally, the pursuit of other suspects weaves in too many implausible threads. Throughout the novel, Jennifer was the most likely suspect. In the real world, she would have done it, not the shrink, her freaky father, loser brother, or the shyster in LA.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: `undownputable. Review: This is a great book to stay until the unpredicted ending. what a cast` of characters. This book is well plotted. Lescroart does a great job telling a story here.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Not as impressed as the everyone else. Review: This is my third Lescroart novel and I have yet to embrace it like I did my first Guilt. That is not to say that this is a bad book. I did like it but not nearly as much.Part of my problem was that I really did not care for the characters. I think Lescroart has a great skill in creating believable people and story lines, it's just that the people are not always people you like or are interested in what happens to them. The only other fault I had with The 13th Juror was that it was not exciting a trial and the resolution came to Dismas a little to easily at the end. All this tension and then and worry and then he figures it out all of a sudden. Not that the reader could not have come to the same conclusion, but you sit there thinking, it can't be that simple. Yes, it can. Still, I have read far worse. I still reccomend Guilt.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Weaknesses, But Good Read Review: This was a good read and even the ending was pretty satisfying. I found it somewhat implausible though that Jennifer steadfastly refused to inject her being battered by her husband into her trial, despite the constant insistence by her attorney. I also found Jennifer to be so cold as to be again unrealistic, especially considering that she was facing the death penalty. However despite these and other weaknesses, it was good enough to easily keep me reading to the very end.
