Summary: BRILLIANT AND DELICIOUS!
Review: Don't let another minute go by without reading this book! It is one of the best contemporary romances I have ever had the extreme pleasure to read. The dialogue sparkles, the humor is "laugh out loud" and the characters - Molly and Kevin are fully realized, as are the secondary characters. No wonder Ms. Phillips was nagged - as she states in the introduction - to write about Molly and Kevin. I just loved this book and if there was a 10 star system here, I would give it a Ten Plus!

Summary: What is it about those Star's Quarterbacks?
Review: Although this newest SEP had a predictable plot, with no real surprises, I was totally involved from the start and just couldn't put it down, not even in the taxi cab on the way from the airport.... Molly and Kevin's love story seemed much tamer than other SEP's romances, but the tension between the two kept things interesting. I really enjoyed the subplot between Lilly and Liam...sexually charged chemistry, and passionate self-discovery that only experience, time and courage can reveal.

Summary: LOVED THIS BOOK, WITTY, SAD AND GREAT!!!!
Review: I've read all of Ms. Phillips books and they just get better and better. It's great to see characters from other books entwined with the current story. Molly is wonderful, witty, and touching. Her Daphne stories are wonderful. Kevin is not what he seems to be. He's a great character and you will love his and Molly's story. Add in a few bad guys, a mother who abandoned Kevin, and you have a great story as always from Ms. Phillips.

Summary: This Heart of Mine
Review: This book and many more that Susan Elizabeth Phillips wrote are the best I just love her books. To tell you the truth I listened to her tapes at work and I just didn't want anyone to bother me. I just couldn't let go. The crazy things that Mollie Somerville would do to get Kevin Tuckers attention. Mollie being a child book author was great the things that went through her mind with the people she used in her books and Kevin being a football player you just never would of known. It was to funny you just have to read the book or listen. Like I said Susan Elizabeth Phillips is the best the way she made me feel. I laugh and I wanted to cry she made me feel and imagine that I could see these two people Mollie's looks and Kevin's body what else can I say.

Summary: The Critics were wrong.
Review: This book was very good. I had heard it reviewed and it was said that it was not up to Ms.Phillips best. I disagree. I absolutely recommend that you read this and I know you will enjoy it. All the characters have such depth. And as always she tied in the other books she has written which is what makes this great! I know we all like to revisit the characters she has invented. I can not wait for the next book!

Summary: Susan E.Phillips....
Review: This lady can do amazing things with words. This story is Kevin and Molly's story. These two do some stupid and very funny things.Molly has had the hots for Kevin for some time and he does not even know she is alive when she goes away for the weekend to her families cabin and finds her brother -in- law Dan has let him(Kevin) stay the weekend .Well things happen. It is funny and ironic and happy and sad and well its a great story.I just wish she (sep)would write more than one a year.and she is skipping 2002 with this book going to paper back.

Summary: Enjoyable but could have been better
Review: Having just read the conclusion to SEP's "Chicago Stars" books, I can say that THIS HEART OF MINE is a satisfying conclusion. The story is about Molly Sommerville, younger sister to Phoebe who is the owner of the Stars, and Kevin Tucker the present quarterback of the Stars. Molly has striven to be a good girl but has a tendency to rebel and get into trouble. Kevin, who grew up in a very religious home with older parents, struggles to make a lasting emotional connection. Each character is very different from what they try to let people see. After a rocky start, they end up finding love while working at a family campground that Kevin has inherited. If you have read the other books in the series, you will be happy to know that Dan and Phoebe play a big role in this book. What worked in this book: the beautiful setting, Molly's writings with Daphne the Rabbit and Benny the Badger being the alter egos of Molly and Kevin. What didn't work: the story of Kevin's mom and the lack of spark between the two characters. This book isn't HEAVEN, TEXAS, the best of the Chicago Stars books in my humble opinion, but it is an enjoyable read and a nice conclusion to the series.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: Susan's books have added such joy to my life but this one was very weak. First off, the fact that Molly rapes Kevin is so unbelievable. I can't believe someone as smart and level- headed as Molly would do that. Secondly, there was NO chemistry between these two characters...they acted like brother and sister! I was bored silly.

The only saving grace of this book was the subplot between Kevin's mother and the artist. Wow! I felt those sparks :)

Borrow, don't buy this book. In fact pick up one of SEP's other books for they are far more romantic and fun!

Summary: What If You Found Yourself in a Children's Book?
Review: The lovely cover made me choose this book - but then - OH NO! - I discovered that not only was it (ugh) a romance, but also had something to do with football (double ugh). For some (wonderful) reason I stayed with it and then wasn't ready for it to end. The main characters are, for the most part, a delightfully believable bunch and the interweaving of Daphne the Bunny storyline is inspired and skillfully done. The main characters of Molly (Daphne) and Kevin (Benny) dive right off a cliff into a world of whimsy, of fun, and of family - but also getting priorities straight. Not only did Kevin find himself alive and kicking in the Daphne books, I too found some of my friends residing inside too. For a frothy, bodice ripping type of story, it is amazingly well written. A couple of subplots are efficiently tucked in and then it is off to the land of Nightingale Woods. The premise of an infatuation ultimately leading to molestation of the male character is more than a little far-fetched - and not very nice - but builds into a fantasy love story that is clever, if not always politically correct. The book contains some really graphic love scenes, which are somehow are kinder and gentler and nicer than most. The epilogue is so creative that it just almost makes me believe again in Happily Ever After.

Mamalinda (Melissa the Wood Frog?), who also favors shawls, pearls and tiaras, but not while riding her mountain bike

Summary: A pleasure to read...
Review: Phillips manages to keep interest once more. Her delightful side tracks into a child's story book world, keeps an interesting perspective into Molly's mind. The appearance of former Phillips' characters also keeps the reader's interest. Kind of a reacquainting update on those characters' lives. The only disappointment was that the plot seemed to be more than slightly reminiscent of "Nobody's Baby but Mine." The fact that "This Heart of Mine," is supposed to be Kevin Tucker's own story only makes it more of a let down. So the originality of the plot and circumstances the leading lady and heart throb encounter, are extremely questionable. Phillips did a good job, over all, however. I just hope the next Phillips work is more original. She is an excellent author in a genre that is easily repetitive in plot and theme.
